This 1-Star review cost me $400. Let me explain: I made the mistake of paying for three sessions before they ever showed up on my property. Had a very pleasant experience with my first and only appointment. It was explained to me by the gentleman that came out that there were no pigeons actively roosting on my property and that the pigeons seen during the day were roosting somewhere else, therefore DKF couldn't help me. In two hours they unfortunately could only remove two pigeons on my neighbors roof. They even said it didn't make sense to have other appointments. I contacted DKF to cancel and refund the next two appointments and was told they can't do it. I attached a screen shot of the business owner's response which left me totally dumbfounded. MAYBE if I left them multiple 5 star reviews they MIGHT be able to convince everyone to refund me. As a small business owner and a person of principle, I cannot oblige to this sort of bribery and poor customer service. Do not make the same mistake I made and pay for sessions in advance, no matter how much they hard sell it. Hire them one appointment at a time. Do not pay in advance. I called desert kings falconry to help with my pigeon problem that were congregating on my roof and pooping all over my patio, I have lived here for 23 years and never had a pigeon issue, pigeons started nesting under solar panels, called desert kings falconry, spoke with owner, Bladen, he said he could come, could not bring a falcon, due to the fact that one had gotten injured under a solar panel, I waited for 2 weeks, finally the technichian showed up, used a high powered "pellet" gun, only removed 1 pigeon, the others flew away due to the fact that technician was there. They had my review on Google taken down and had that fact hidden from me. Everyone deserves to know the truth about my experience, so I am copying and pasting it here. Long story short, it's not worth it. Now for the long story: His bird wouldn't hunt. Literally. He said that she had flown into a window previously and knocked herself out, Ever since then she was, "a dunce bird." So he brought her out anyway. He told me that his other guys had all the good birds. Great. Sure enough, she was ineffective at hunting any pigeons. She didn't catch a single one. Just flew onto the roof and sat there. I guess people pay for the novelty? His solution was to get out his Co2 powered rifle that fired salt rounds. Once the visible bird was shot, (it was night time and he used a flashlight that ended up running out of power) he needed help scaring up the other ones. (Apparently he had just worked out, probably why he was 30 minutes late to our scheduled appointment, and he his arms were tired.) He tried throwing a rock onto my roof but wasn't accurate enough. So I had to help him. I grabbed some foam golf balls I have, since no one wants rocks thrown on their roof, and scared up a group of pigeons that flew away and didn't come back. Even though he was, "hoping they would just fly straight back." I held the flashlight for him while he used the Co2 rifle. He shot another pigeon on my neighbors roof. Then he shot another bird that ended up on my driveway beneath my car. So he used his dog to scare it up but it just flew onto another neighbors house and he wasn't able to get that pigeon, even when he sent his falcon at her. (She just flew to the top of the roof and sat there.) There was a fourth bird that he shot at which he said he hit but I just saw fly away. Giving him credit for that one, four birds total. He gave the excuse about not having a ladder that he usually does so he can gain a vantage point on the roofs and do an extensive job, but since he didn't have it he couldn't. Yay. No bird that could hunt, only four birds shot, no working flashlight, no ladder to do the job right, a pile of excuses and a $150 bill. Since I had to scare away 5 pigeons on my roof this morning, it is not effective and certainly not worth it. Although he will come back for $75. His communication was lacking and left much to be desired as well. When I called (Wednesday, May 12th at 10am) he asked for my contact information. He did end up getting back to me a few days after the initial phone call, on Friday, May 14th, but only when I sent 2 texts asking if we could set up the appointment. He sent no confirmation communication and my wife and I just sat there wondering if he was going to come. As stated before he showed up 30 minutes late but did actually send that text 2 minutes before he was supposed to show up. After all is said and done, it's just a disappointing $150 bill for a job not done well. I'm kicking myself for not holding him to it but it just goes to show that Desert Kings Falconry will do the bare minimum, take your money and stand by the job they've done.
