Looks like I am the only one that doesn't love Desert Cow Computers. I had a virus that MalWare bytes couldn't fix. I checked around and noticed all the great comments from Desert Cow customers, so I called them. At first Service seemed great, they make house calls. When the tech arrived I mentioned that before the virus my PC had been getting slower and slower over the last few months. I asked him about installing more memory and He said I had plenty of memory. He noticed I had MalWare bytes, System Mechanic, and another software that was suppose to speed up the PC. He recommended I get rid of all and go with Norton. He mentioned that a solid state hard drive would make my system faster. So I agreed that he install a new drive, get rid of the viruses and all Malware and anti-virus software and Install Norton. It took 7 days to get my PC back (One of those days was a holiday, but 6 days is still a long time). After it was delivered and setup the PC started up so fast. It took just a few seconds to boot up. For a few seconds I was excited, then I was told I would have to re-install all my software. It took me a few hours every day for a week to get all my software re-installed and files moved to where they should be. The solid state drive is great for booting up my PC. It doesn't help when I am moving files, or installing new software. The problem is that my old drive was a Terabyte and it was replaced with a solid state drive that is 1/4 the size. The new drive doesn't hold all my data so most of my data is still on my old slower drive. I don't remember if the size of the drive had been discussed. I just assumed it would be replaced with a drive of the same size, or larger. If it had understood that I was getting a much smaller drive I would never have agreed to replacing it. Even after all this happened I wasn't going to write this. But a few weeks ago I called Desert Cow because I had another virus. The woman who answered told me she was working with another customer and would call me in about 30mins. It's been more than two weeks and no call. I was able to contact Norton and they fixed the problem in a few minutes. read more

Mark & Dominique had come to our aid before regarding my wife's laptop. This time I needed help with transferring information from an old computer to a new one. This was an urgent matter and they responded. They picked up both towers on Friday and brought them back on Monday morning. The problem was resolved and I could SEE all of my files and my contacts. WHEW!! It is scary not being plugged in if you know aht I mean. read more

Wow I had an appointment with their tech at 2 pm- he calls 40 minutes after the appointment to say he's running late- calls to the main office as well. Tech tries to get another 'buddy' to help me and he had no understanding of what I needed.... This company was so highly rated so either there is a new owner who is clueless or the company no longer believes in customer service read more

With great gusto, allow us to add our names to the Legion of Mark and Dominique believers in their superb geekness and computer expertise! We recently noticed that our Window's Updates (patches, hot fixes, security updates, etc.) were repeatedly failing to download to our home PC. We tried all the rather feeble tools Microsoft and others offer without success. Upon calling Desert Cow Computers, we discovered Dominique who has the patience of a saint and that rarest of personal skills in our chaotic world - true listening. Dominique listened to our tale of woe and immediately connected us to Mark ('the back half of the cow') who assumed remote control of our computer just like the old 'Outer Limits' TV series, and proceeded to doggedly and reliably sort out our issues and fix them all, at an embarrassingly reasonable fee for allowing us access to their vast and mysterious technical knowledge. This husband-and-wife team absolutely has the rest of the Coachella Valley Computer nerds trumped and check-mated! They understand your needs, go to work fixing things and get the job done. You really can not ask for faster, more reliable service for your hard-earned shekels. We are very careful stewards of our income, and I can tell you that engaging Desert Cow Computers to purchase, repair, maintain and install your computer equipment is money wisely well-spent. And don't think these folks are like the cows in their website. A cow is a slow, bovine creature with not a heck of a lot of brain power. Mark and Dominique are more like thoroughbreds and greyhounds - fast and skilled in getting the mission completed! THANK YOU Mark and Dominique for repairing our software and restoring our faith in Coachella Valley technical folks! Arise Sir Mark and Dame Dominique; You are our officially appointed computer nerds henceforth and forever more! read more

COW WA BUNGA, Desert Cow is fantastic. We have used Mark at our business and he has done a great job fixing any issues we have. We have purchased several computers from him and have been very pleased with the quality and amazed at the prices. He is a wizard with our network and also with security issues. The Desert Cow techs show up when they are scheduled to and fix the problem quickly and effectively. I would recommend Desert Cow without any hesitation!! read more

This is a follow-up to my previous negative review. I did receive a call back from the company that is taking over Desert Cow and their rep asked if I could bring my PC in because the hard drive would have be removed to perform the process. I did bring it in. The tech's name was Angel and I was very greatful when he took care my issue while I waited and the fee was very reasonable. Now all is well and I'm back up and running. Thanks! read more

After a miserable experience at another repair co. and told my computer was dead and could not retrieve any data. I then contacted Desert Cow and was greeted by Dominique who calmed by fears that all Hope was not lost. She picked up my computer (I didn't need to take in) and was able to retrieve all my data and transferred to my new computer. I recommend everyone to call them first and save a lot of money and frustration read more

I contacted Desert Cow Computers yesterday afternoon and spoke to Dominque who was very professional and pleasant. I explained my error messages (Blue screens/shutdowns) and told her that the computer was 5 years old and she assured me that it most likely was not ready for the retirement home yet! We set up an appointment for this morning to see if it could be handled easily or would need to go to the shop. Her husband Mark arrived and knew within 5 minutes what the issue was and proceeded to explain and repair it! I was up and running probably within 1/2 hour. They only charge $130 for the 1st hour regardless of the time it takes within that hour and they come to your home so that is all it cost me along with not having a total meltdown thinking that I would lose data that I had not backed up or it would require major repairs. Small price to pay for peace of mind! I highly recommend checking them out if you need service of any kind on your computer. Nobody likes to leave their LIFE at a shop so the fact that they come to you is a major winner in my book! read more

we recently had a problem with our network at our business which brought the entire system down. I called Desert Cow in a panic and they were able to get there very quickly, diagnose the issue, go buy a replacement part and get us up and running in no time. Thank you for the quick reliable service! We will defiantly use them again. read more

My wireless all-in-one printer finally passed away after three years of loyal service and, being Internet savvy but not so much when it comes to installing hardware, I started searching around for a better alternative to Geek Squad (way too much buck for not nearly enough bang) and, thanks to YELP, I got in touch with Dominique at DESERT COW and I have to report that I'm totally delighted that I did!! First off, I called on the weekend and left a voicemail expecting to hear back on Monday, but no, Dominique called within the hour, offered to come over later in the day, in fact, but we settled on Monday instead. She arrived promptly on time, provided friendly professional service at a very reasonable price---and I should add this particular printer was no simple "plug 'n play", especially when trying to interface with TWC's Byzantine wi-fi application---but Dominique sorted it all out in short order, no fuss no bother, and I'm one happy camper. Take it from this dedicated Yelper: for all your tech support needs in the Coachella Valley give Desert Cow a call, you won't be disappointed!!! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!! read more

After a very frustrating couple of months with my computer I called Desert Cow. Dominic came out and within a few minutes she brought peace back into my life! I highly recommend Desert Cow! read more

My business was broken into on a Sunday morning at 2:00 A.M. I needed new equipment, different than what was stolen, software loaded and network ready. Dominique and her team were so fast and efficient I was back up in record time, missing only the day of the break in. I would recommend Desert Cow Computers without hesitation. They know what they are doing, translate computer into English and are so reasonable in price I would hesitate to go anywhere else before contacting Dominique and her team. read more

Thanks for helping me with my printers! What a great introduction to a company - that they have your challenges/solutions in mind before your $$$. Mark helped me get back to work and didn't even charge me...I will be back. read more

So here I was with a super slow computer (it was fine a week ago). Must be a virus, right? What now? I came onto Yelp and found the Desert Cow. What's with all the 5 stars? I was thinking, must have a lot of friends. All these 5 stars can't possibly be valid, right? Feeling suspicious, I called and got their voicemail, left a message and figured, maybe I'd here back by the end of the week (if at all). In less than 10 minutes, Dominique calls and apologizes for not picking up (who picks up? I thought this was a 'leave a message' kind of world!). I go on to explain what's happening (or not) with my Dell. She asked me a few questions, and suggested I try downloading a new browser. If that didn't work, they'd have to take a look. Much to my amazement, it worked! Things are back to working lickity split. The kicker? NO CHARGE. Wait, what? She told me I could use the computer with this work-around, or they could do a diagnostic. I decided to give this work-around a chance, and see what happens. Dominique was very pleasant and professional. Way to go Cow person, very impressive! No doubt, I will be calling them again. read more

Prompt service at your door. No more worrying what happens to the computer, once you hand it over at a store. These are dedicated consultants, who come to your house or office, with you right there to see what they are doing. Heck, they're happy to share their knowledge to help avoid future issues. Thought my five-year old notebook would need to be replaced soon, but happily it is still humming along. read more

My laptop was down and I needed to find a company I could trust. Mark and Dominique go out of their way to meet your needs. I got my laptop back the same day. Dominique made sure the wireless printer was working and back into the armoire before leaving me. She even helped fix a word processing problem without any charge. Mark and Dominique are just great! Not only did they fix my computer and get it exactly the way I wanted it. But they are also just all around good people. You can tell they have a passion for what they do, and it shows in their work and their communication. And that to me is pertinent in running a successful business. They have great personalities that made me feel welcome the first time we spoke, I highly recommend using them as your go to service for computer repair and services. read more

Dom was fantastic! My mom lives in Palm Desert, I'm up in Sonoma and not able to help her with her computer from up here. Dom to the rescue! She cleaned up her computer, hooked up her printer, gave her lessons, showing her how to do things that she needed help with. She was patient and knowledgeable! I did this as a Mother's Day gift and Dom was so open to my idea and told me how she helps a lot of older people for their adult children from a far. I highly recommend Desert Cow!! read more

They subcontracted my request to Joe Kim. Great guy. Fast, really courteous and professional. Joe tweaked my netbook, gave it back to me, free of charge for the time being. He told me to give it a test run and see what I thought. He said most likely I'd have to roll back my Windows OS in order to get my speed back. He's right. I'm going to have him roll it back. He's come to my house once already. Will come again, pick up my netbook, do the work and return it to me all for $100! How amazing is that? read more

First let me say that I had a laptop that was not working just as our family was about to head out west for a trip. So, I decided that it would be best to bring it along and have it fixed while on vacation in Palm Springs. I read reviews on Yelp about Desert Cow Computers and decided to give them a try. I contacted them before leaving just to tell them my situation and it was arranged to call them once I had landed in Palm Springs. Once we got settled in I called back and spoke with Dominique at Desert Cow. She was very friendly and proposed we meet at a spot in the middle of where each of us was located. Dominique was punctual and very professional. She had a few tricks up her sleeve she wanted to try quickly before taking the laptop back with her and poof, she had the issue fixed in minutes. I am happy to report this review is being typed on the laptop in question and all is well. She charged me nothing for the few minutes of her time and I was on my way. I can't say enough good things about the whole experience and only wish we had a place like it out here. Make the call and you won't be sorry. read more

Have to add my kudos to this great service team! Very helpful on the phone and tried to give me a quick fix so I wouldn't even need their service. Then, when it was discovered that my laptop did, in fact, need work, Mike showed up to my house and was very courteous, explained what he was attempting to do and quickly determined that I would be better off sending it back to the manufacturer than having him spend any more time on repairs. And, to my surprise, he didn't charge me! You'd better believe Desert Cow Computers is who I will be recommending and using from now on! read more
