Daniel, owner and operator of DA Computers, is an honest businessman. My request was for file recovery. He gave me a very reasonable initial quote for quite a long project. Originally we both believed I had a few terabytes of photos, videos, audio recordings, documents and PDFs. Little did we realize there would be at least eight terabytes when completed. He purchased special recovery software because of my unusual crash circumstances. He personally kept watch over my file recovery. All of my metadata was recovered as well as my original folder hierarchy. Remarkable. He kept his original quote. Like I said, an honest businessman. Please do not take your high end printer or anything else to this place. I was charged $65 for diagnostic which is fine, they wanted to charge me $245 to realize door sensor and reseat door which was not broken just came undone and firmware update . I did not approve the repair so they unhinged the door of the printer when I picked it up. when I questioned their pricing they stated $125 per hour for labor to put the door hinge an realign sensor. I would give them a minus 5 star in customer service and knowledge. I doubt if they even did anything to the printer at all. read more

I called and spoke with a nice guy on the phone. I was asking about battery backups and UPS'. He said they had them in stock and were $195. I told him I would be in, in a few days to pick it up. I arrived a few days later and was snappily greeted by a woman that informed me she couldn't help me for 10 minutes while she was helping someone who had just walked in before us. She then asked what we needed. I told her I spoke with someone on the phone and was looking for a UPS. I was surprised when she said the cost was $225. I told her I had been told over the phone it was $195. She said they had all been sold and she only had the $225 ones. And she said we could dig them out of the stacks of boxes and equipment on the floor and shelves. My partner and I at that point walked out. I wasn't going to dig thru their stuff to try and find where they put the UPS' for sale. Nor did we appreciate they way she treated and talked to us. I am an Engineer and have been working in Tech for 20 years. I work with customers and end users on a daily basis. Whomever it was working, needs customer service training or go do something else that they enjoy. I am always supportive of small business'. That is why I called this place looking for equipment. I drove a block over to Staples. A really nice guy helped me and even carried the UPS up to the counter for checkout. I do not believe calling ahead here is going to be an option. You might end up having to pay more for what was stated over the phone and having to dig thru boxes on the floor and shelves to find what you need. The solid state drive in my computer went toes up, so I brought the machine to DA Computers instead of trying to wrestle with the repair myself. Three days later my computer was not only fixed but upgraded. The technicians were competent, friendly and really helpful. They explained what the probable cause of the failure was, and what they did to prevent the replacement from failing as well. Upon getting their outrageous cost quote, I quickly removed my computer and took it to Computer Repair in La Quinta. They quickly discovered that the restart problem had been Windows failure to process an unused OS connector. When that was deleted, it started and runs perfectly. No problems. So DA Computer was definitely attempting to defraud me out of hundreds of dollars! I wonder how many others they do that to every day! Bought a computer from them that I thought was up-to-date. NOT .. it was a Windows 7 It was opened up and was found that they used cheap China parts and the cooling system was not adequate. My computer would not power on, and I pretty much knew what the problem was but wanted a professional opinion. I took it in and was treated with unsurpassed respect by the staff. I told them what the problem was, what I had done to repair on my own. They gave me an estimate and informed me of the diagnosis charge, which I felt was very reasonable. Later that afternoon, I was called by their staff and was informed what needed to be done, which was what I guessed the problem to be. It was suggested that there could be some other parts replaced to improve performance, but after some discussion, they said he suggestion would be unnecessary. Very honest! I picked up the computer the next day and they went over the entire repair process. The bill was right on my personal estimate of what I anticipated to pay.
