    Grilled Octopus
    Richard P.

Overall: Catered towards larger parties (wine by the bottle and larger plates/portions) but creative hip yet authentic Spanish cuisine. Food: started with an absolute flavor blast in croquettes. Huge fan of the sweetness from the dates compared to the saltiness and fattiness of the jamon. The huevos and jamon were exactly as you'd expect. The patatas underneath were made in a French fry style manner. A little heavy with the insane amount of oil but having bread helps to cut a lot of the fat down. Lastly, the octopus was a major disappointment. While the char and flavor were nice and golden the overall texture and firmness of the octopus was not as tender. This especially since it took rather long between the 2nd course and this one. Ambience/Decor/Service: waiter was extremely nice but only spoke Spanish so working around my slightly broken Spanish was a bit of a task on his end. The decor was recently renovated but most of the tables were designed to seat 6+ people. Ended up sharing a table with another pair with seats in between. Ambience was rather quieter since we arrived fairly early but overall quaint vibes.

Very hip place with tasty dishes and great service! The best part is that you can have a half portion of everything so you can try more things. My favorites were the burrata, which came with delicious spices and shrimp, and the tuna, which tasted unlike any we're used to in the states! The potatoes, jamon, and eggs dish was also very good, as was the steak- the correct amount of raw and salt. The wines came as generous pours and the chocolate with fruit dessert was out of this world! It came warm and flakey and perfect. We were even brought a digestivo on the house! Highly recommend!

Just arrived by train from Barcelona and we're all hungry, looking for food before we explore the city. Our hotel recommended Publico but when we get inside, the waitress said they're open @ 1:30 so we left. Found this place with trip advisor sticker on the window, is not big but very cozy l Love the food especially the tuna and the one with tofu on it

Awesome decor and environment. Love the fries and gluten free options. Menu could be larger though.

We wasted no time and ordered their white vermut and red vermut and then tried their spanish wine.. their wine was great but their house vermut - undeniably the best I had in Madrid (trust me I had plenty). They give free tapas with their drinks - mushrooms (wow) and also ham and mini breadsticks. This was perfect to pair with our vermut and wine. We loved their house vermut so much that we ordered 2 bottles to take back home with us. Staff was friendly and loved the vibe of this bar. I will miss this place for sure! Highly recommend.

Unfortunately, I opted out of the experience, but from what I saw and heard, patrons were raving about this drink! Instead, I stuck to my vacation Spanish drink-- Sangria. Solid, strong, refreshing & delicious! There are tons of tapas options and true to how tapas are meant to be, portions are small -- perfect for those who want to try more on the menu or explore other delicious options in La Latina. I ordered #20) the meatballs in tomato sauce (albóndigas caseras en salsa de tomate) and was SO disappointed -- they arrived cold and tasted pretty basic. There are definitely stronger contenders on the menu -- I just happened to choose the wrong one... If I could do it over, maybeee the 14) White Prawn Carpaccio or the 3) Smoked Cod on Toast

I truly have to highlight Pepe, Franco, and Grace for taking the time to speak to us and get to know us. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the seafood paella, jamon iberico, garlic shrimp, and sangria. The paella was filled with a ton of flavor which was DELICIOUS. Everything was fantastic, but the Sangria was spectacular, (probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had). At the end of our meal, Pepe brought us two liquor de Limon shots, which made our whole night!! Definitely recommend this place in the La Latina neighborhood. You won't regret it!

It has that classic bustling tapas bar energy where everyone is close enough to feel like part of one big conversation. The food was the highlight. The clams were flavorful and fresh, the octopus was cooked beautifully and the paella was delicious. It is a great place to stop in for a drink and a quick bite, especially if you want something authentic and lively. When we visited, it was packed to the point where you were shoulder to shoulder with other guests and close enough to easily hear the party next to you. It adds to the charm if you enjoy that classic crowded European dining atmosphere, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer more space.

I did miss the classic tomato's (3.5/5) 2) potato omelette w truffles - this is their most famous dish and indeed it was excellent . The truffle does add a lot to our (4.1/5) 3) oxtail lasagna - a very good dish - the meat was cooked to perfection . Could use more tomatoes and cheese though (4/5) We ordered a bit too much for two people , I would stay w 2 to split . Altogether recommended !

Service was awful (our server literally left during our tasting menu & I guess didn't tell anyone to take over our table because we just stopped getting dishes at one point). The vibe is super tacky (the waitress stands next to your table & sings karaoke to you & they bring in club promoters to bother you at your table with invites to events). Given we were traveling in Madrid, I was extremely disappointed in this dinner. The only saving grace was the scallops dish which was interesting & tasty. Positives: atmosphere, tasting menu Negatives: bad food, bad music, bad service, overrated
