Ahhh such a good group of staff here. There's a breakfast time, a break between 12-1pm, then the kitchen reopens at 1pm. The restaurant is opened during break for coffee, but the kitchen doesn't make food. I prefer restaurants that stay open even if kitchen is closed, at least I can sit for coffee. You know how Madrid restaurants don't accurately put their hours online... ahhh Both coffee and the food were good! I had the mushroom risotto, a bit salty but flavourful. And everyone is so kind here. You do have to pay for bread (on the side) though, for about 0,50€

Just finished wine and sparkling water under the shade.

Good location near Retiro Park and The Prado. Wine was good not great. They brought the standard tasty potato chips and also some pickled shallots and olives. Kitchen was closed when we came at 3pm. Service was good but slow. Outdoor seating area was nice but a little dirty. Didn't spend time inside. Overall decent place to have a glass of wine outside.

Canonigos salad, delicious! I do not have this green leaf at home in America so i enjoyed it as much as possible today

Love the duck confit, couscous and canonigos salad is out of this world, highly recommended and well located by paseo del Prado. Customer service sucks a little but in general Spain has bad customer service, focus on finding quality food and you will be fine.

    Gazpacho and sangria

Great place to grab a bite after the Prado. It's in a quiet area--seems like a million miles from Ritiro or Puerta del Sol. Good mix of fish selections, and land based foods. As with most small restaurants, there is only one server, so the service is slow. But food and sangria are good!

WOW. Best meal we have had in Spain. The risotto was amazing. The bread was awesome. We may just eat the rest of our meals in Madrid here

Love the quaint yet chic & modern decor. The owner was there the day we visited and was so friendly. She explained some of the menu items we were unfamiliar with. So glad that we found it because the everything was amazing. A small coffee & dessert shop that's very unique with an urban but home-like feeling. The owner was there to open and speaks English so that really made it comfortable for us to select what to eat. She gave us her recommendations on what to try being that you couldn't visually see what was inside most of the pastry items and the menu was in Spanish. I assume that it isn't a dog friendly venue...one of the patrons sat their dog outside while they enjoyed coffee. Their selections of pastries are endless; From cakes, to donuts, tarts, quiches, meat pies, meat empanadas, etc. I'm sad that I didn't try any of the sweets, but I did order the smoked salmon & queso cream cheese sandwhich, along with their puff pastry of spinach (my favorite) & beef & chicken empanadas. Light & small but shareable as my girlfriend and I enjoyed every last bite & toasted with a cup of coffee!

I truly have to highlight Pepe, Franco, and Grace for taking the time to speak to us and get to know us. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the seafood paella, jamon iberico, garlic shrimp, and sangria. The paella was filled with a ton of flavor which was DELICIOUS. Everything was fantastic, but the Sangria was spectacular, (probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had). At the end of our meal, Pepe brought us two liquor de Limon shots, which made our whole night!! Definitely recommend this place in the La Latina neighborhood. You won't regret it!

It has that classic bustling tapas bar energy where everyone is close enough to feel like part of one big conversation. The food was the highlight. The clams were flavorful and fresh, the octopus was cooked beautifully and the paella was delicious. It is a great place to stop in for a drink and a quick bite, especially if you want something authentic and lively. When we visited, it was packed to the point where you were shoulder to shoulder with other guests and close enough to easily hear the party next to you. It adds to the charm if you enjoy that classic crowded European dining atmosphere, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer more space.
