First, the name of this place has been changed to "Ay, Rosa". I was confused when trying to find a place with the name given here. It's got decent Mexican food. The Frida Kahlo plate was delicious and the mole very good. The margarita was acceptable. Service was friendly and good. A fine option for someone looking for a Mexican experience.

This place had very good tacos that reminded me south California. The pastor tacos are something special and should definitely be considered. When I went, they also had four euro mojitos with I believe dark rum which was interesting but worth the try. I also had the chicken flautas for an appetizer which was also very good. My tables server was very nice and the service was fast.

Trying to trust our fellow yelpers in Spain but we were disappointed in this place. I'm not sure if it's because we are from California and we know what good Mexican food should taste like, but this place needs some work on their food. The do have a few vegetarian options, which is great, as it's a bit difficult to find a good place with more options on the menu. They have 1 burrito, 1 fajitas, and 1 enchilada veggie option. Here's what we got: (1 star) Guacamole was too watery and had too much lime. Tortilla Chips were over cooked. (3.5 stars) Piña colada smoothie - best thing we had there. Fresca y piña smoothie - I liked this one much better than the piña colada. (1 stars) Enchiladas Rojas - too salty! The sauce was okay - too strong, cheese was too much - overload! We barely ate this entree, we had 2 bites and we were done - and we even shared this entree! The rice was slightly uncooked but tasted decent. Salad was pretty good. Decor was fun and colorful and the ambiance is loud and fun.

This was much better than I expected. Great value for what you get. Burrito was big and packed up with balanced fillings and lightly toasted to be served. You can get 3 euro Mojito or frozen margarita here. This can be more than enough to deserve 4 stars. Stop by if you want to have cheap but decent quick tex-mex. Open all day!!

This is a cute little place where they have menus in many different languages. The prices are good and the food is absolutely wonderful. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because we went there around 7 PM and there were only 2 people working- the bartender/server and the cook. When we were getting ready to leave another server and cook came in to help so I am sure the service was much better after that. I got the carnita tacos and I shared the nachos with someone else. The person I was with got a frozen margarita to drink and a burrito to eat. Again, the food was very good and I recommend going here if you are in the mood for Mexican food.

Great service and terrific tacos! We were seated quickly even though the place was packed. Nice variety on the menu to choose from. I selected the vegetarian tacos and a Pina colada which was A+. Everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints at all.

Loved this little cute place! Was visiting friends in Madrid and after the doing some solo shopping in the mercados walked on over to La Rosa Negra. Went there mostly for drinks because when i was walking by saw they had an all night happy hour menu on margs and tacos. We also tried the mojitos which actually made with a splash of bitters, they went down sooo smooth! I like this place so much in fact that we went back the next night and invited friends. The bar is right at the door, the service was quick and easy even having to do some translating from Castellano to English !

Excellent vegetarian Mexican food ... Nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas ...etc .., the guacamole is exactly the one you get in chipotle .... It's worth coming to this place just for the guac if nothing else !! The food is a little different when it comes to taste but still really good !! Vegetarians MUST GO !!

Found this while roaming yelp for a mexican place in Madrid. Pleasant surprise. Drinks are delicious and well poured. Food is fresh and tasty. One of the best meals we've had here. Lots of choices and a lot of flavor in the dishes!

Great Mexican food! Ceviche, tacos, and their IPA beer were all excellent. Very happy we walked by.

After trying all manner of tapas, this was a refreshing change. I'm so glad I've had authentic…read moreMexican food in Mexico and in Detroit's Mexican Town many times so I know how good it can be. Santita stands with the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. To start, it already stands out from every other restaurant I've visited in Madrid because of his beer selection. Instead of ordering Cerveza, and getting the one beer the place has, you have nice choice of Mexican beers, served in a bottle. Negra Modelo, one of my favorites, was among them. Margaritas are small, but cheap (5€), tasty, and potent. Guacamole is creamy and robust, served in a stone mortar, as it's traditionally been made for centuries. The tortilla chips are thick, and not particularly salty, but they're a perfect pairing to start the meal. Please, please order the Los Ignacios...the most perfect Mexican pizza you'll ever have in your life. The description on the menu says "our version of the traditional nachos". For Americans, this evokes tortilla chips with melted cheese, onions, and peppers with low grade meat. Here, you get a thin, crispy crust layered with pico de gallo, cheese, beans, guacamole, meat...yes, similar ingredients in crappy bar nachos, but so, so much better. Tacos are tiny discs piled with meat. The tacos de pollo (chicken) is covered in a rich crema, with small pieces of lean chicken breast. The tacos de chochinita had a massive mound of marinated pork. All had pickled red onions on top. My wife didn't like all the crema, but I did. The pork was excellent. The burrito de pollo was massive and suitable for sharing (though our friend didn't want to share). It has excellent rice with the chicken. We had tried to order a side of rice previously, and we were told it couldn't be ordered separately. Not sure why that is, but this is a great way to get it. Yes, we were stuffed by then. No, we didn't stop ordering. We closed with coconut ice cream, which was pretty standard, but the margarita ice cream? Wow. It's a scoop of ice cream that gets a shot of tequila dumped on it. The sweetness balances the tequila beautifully. Service was also excellent. We ordered a few rounds of drinks (lost track of how many...oops). All the things we ordered set us back 93€. What a great way to experience authentic Mexican cuisine.

I had no idea it was Mexican food when we first walked in and thought what's the big deal since I have Mexican all the time in the U.S. Boy, was I surprised! They did such an impressive job of combining such a variation of flavors and bringing them all together in each bite. The food was something I would expect from a top-level chef. We wanted to eat everything on the menu and really wish that we could have done so. A simple taco was such an incredible taste experience. Whatever they used to create that flavor fest was just delicious. Wish I could go again!!!
