I'm not sure if this place is "authentic" Mexican food, but it was very good in general and the decorations are cute! What we ordered: We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. The bartender was very nice and suggested strawberry mojitos. They were very yummy! My friend and I are both vegetarians so we opted for the veggies nachos. Hit up this place because we were hungry and it was open early. Love the décor, absolutely super cute. Food was great portion for price, the faijitas we ordered were actually overwhelming- definitely enough for 2-3 people. Salad was also great. First, the name of this place has been changed to "Ay, Rosa". I was confused when trying to find a place with the name given here. It's got decent Mexican food. This place had very good tacos that reminded me south California. The pastor tacos are something special and should definitely be considered. When I went, they also had four euro mojitos with I believe dark rum which was interesting but worth the try. I also had the chicken flautas for an appetizer which was also very good. Trying to trust our fellow yelpers in Spain but we were disappointed in this place. I'm not sure if it's because we are from California and we know what good Mexican food should taste like, but this place needs some work on their food. The do have a few vegetarian options, which is great, as it's a bit difficult to find a good place with more options on the menu. They have 1 burrito, 1 fajitas, and 1 enchilada veggie option. Here's what we got: (1 star) Guacamole was too watery and had too much lime. Tortilla Chips were over cooked. (3.5 stars) Piña colada smoothie - best thing we had there. Fresca y piña smoothie - I liked this one much better than the piña colada. (1 stars) Enchiladas Rojas - too salty! The sauce was okay - too strong, cheese was too much - overload! We barely ate this entree, we had 2 bites and we were done - and we even shared this entree! The rice was slightly uncooked but tasted decent. Salad was pretty good. Decor was fun and colorful and the ambiance is loud and fun. read more

This was much better than I expected. Great value for what you get. Burrito was big and packed up with balanced fillings and lightly toasted to be served. You can get 3 euro Mojito or frozen margarita here. This can be more than enough to deserve 4 stars. Stop by if you want to have cheap but decent quick tex-mex. Open all day!! read more

This is a cute little place where they have menus in many different languages. The prices are good and the food is absolutely wonderful. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because we went there around 7 PM and there were only 2 people working- the bartender/server and the cook. When we were getting ready to leave another server and cook came in to help so I am sure the service was much better after that. I got the carnita tacos and I shared the nachos with someone else. The margaritas were quite small and served in a martini glass but was decent in taste because we upgraded the liquor to the premium Herradura. This place gets one star for the drink. We were extremely disappointed with the food. First, you pay a bit extra for a plate of old tortilla chips and salsas that come out of a bottle. I happily paid for guacamole except it was barely recognizable and watery too. We were hungry so we ate a couple without complaint. Next, my husband had ordered the "carne asada burrito" and his meat was too tough to eat so he skipped the meat and ate the rest of the ingredients. I had the "assadero" a steak dish with a hunk of the same very tough and entirely flavorless meat plus the tortillas are a la carte. I never heard of such a thing to pay extra for your first set of tortillas with a steak dish. The refried beans were very dry and tasteless and I didn't even mess with the rice. If you are out just for drinks it's okay--but if you choose to eat here you will waste your money. The service is not special due to being understaffed, the place is noisy and food is regrettably terrible. read more

Loved this little cute place! Was visiting friends in Madrid and after the doing some solo shopping in the mercados walked on over to La Rosa Negra. Went there mostly for drinks because when i was walking by saw they had an all night happy hour menu on margs and tacos. We also tried the mojitos which actually made with a splash of bitters, they went down sooo smooth! I like this place so much in fact that we went back the next night and invited friends. The food is good and service quick. The drinks are strong but in a good way. They don't serve any chips and salsa complimentary, like in the states. I got the variety taco platter so I could taste all the meat. Each taco had a different topping ranging from onions, cilantro, and tomatoes on the beef to guacamole on the chicken. My favorite was the pork that was tasty, flavorful and topped with a delicious mix of onions, cilantro and pineapple. The prices are good 30 for 2 people with drinks. Pretty good overall! read more

I've been in Madrid for 4 days now and this is the third time I end up here. When you're tired of pinchos, fried potato, cold cuts and anchovy, this is the perfect place to go. Quesadillas with skiw cooked pork are super nice and their starters too. We started out with the chips and guacamole - A little creamier than what we're used to in the SW, but still quite good. For the main entrees: I ordered the mushroom and onion burrito - Mushrooms were nicely marinated and flavorful, but the whole thing was in need of salsa, pica de gallo, some kind of tomato-based dressing, which I did not see as an option. Hubby had the flank steak which he reported as thicker than usual, but still tasty. I loved loved loved this restaurant! While on vacation in Madrid my family and I came here twice! The decor is so close to being tacky it's not (if that makes since) I loved the vive, great music and good if you're looking for hot food and not tapas! A fantastic day 3 or 4 alternative to standard Spanish fare in Madrid. The service was excellent, no language barrier and the food was great! The Spanish take their pork very seriously and that goes for their Al Pastor as well. I had the burrito and would gladly have it again! I have never had a frozen mojito before. When they brought of the tamarind mojito I thought there had been some sort of mistake. The drink was very good. I don't typically like frozen drinks, but I approve of this one. The wine wasn't as good as... everywhere else. I should have gotten the mojito like my sister did. Honestly, I had no interest in eating Mexican food while in Spain. We just came for a drink after seeing the high reviews on yelp. The drinks were split for us. This place is a very just ok restaurant and they serve a very americanized version of Mexican food. The enchiladas were one solid mass of cheese and tortillas with some sort of tomato sauce on top, the rice was ok, the beans too, and the service was not terribly bad. It has nothing special, but they do have cocktails for pretty cheap although they are very sugary. Also, the tacos actually had cilantro and onion, a big accomplishment for a Mexican restaurant in Spain, although they haven't quite grasped the concept of fresh salsa. One day...I hope. read more

Very good. Not you're normal Mexican place but everything is very well done. The burrito (vegetarian) was fabulous and the enchiladas are decent as well. I would definitely come back. They had this salsa de habanero verde and it complimented the burrito quite well as did the other sauces that came with the food. Tired of tapas, we wanted to try something different while in Spain. Found this place and came here for a late dinner. Wife ordered the nachos con queso and it was excellent. I ordered the cheese Enchiladas Rojas and I loved it. Good size portion and the beans that came with it were awesome. Definitely a good amount of cheese but the sauce balanced it out. After trying several Mexican restaurants during our time here in Spain, we happened to stumble across this one today on our walk back to our hotel. This one was by far the best! We ordered the nachos to share as a starter, and I had a berry smoothie and the vegetarian burrito with mushrooms and onions. Everything was delicious!
