Great Mexican spot for Tortas! I had a Milpa Alta (Torta with Nopal) which was really good. In addition, I loved their sauces. Due to my "problem" with spicy sauces I managed to eat the light one with the spoon as it was tasty and I also enjoyed a lot the spicy one that I put in the Torta as it had a very good flavor coming from the habaneros. I ended up finishing it and when the waiter saw that he gave me a shot of frozen margarita as a reward! It goes without saying that the service is good and extremely friendly. read more

Where I come from "Mexican" food does not necessarily consist of authentic tortas. This spot however channels Mexico directly so do not expect to find any enchiladas, fajitas or tacos on this menu. Instead, you can choose from a mouth-watering array of these special sandwiches, nachos, tamales, tostadas and some patatas covered in a variety of sauces. Craving a little taste of Mexico, I went with the nopales torta seeing as it was marked as being the most "mexican" choice on the menu, while my friend went with the milanesa, the "classic." A self-proclaimed guaca-holic, I could not pass up on fresh guacamole to start. Everything was delicious. I was pleased to find you do not have to worry about the bread cutting up the roof of your mouth like a panini can do. Instead, it is soft and perfectly toasted. The flavor of the nopales (which is also vegetarian!) mixed with the avocado, beans and other fixings made for a satisfyingly flavorful and filling sandwich. On a special note, I love spicy so was thrilled to be handed a platter of jalapenos and a tube of their chipotle picante sauce to kick up the heat a bit. Something that is not always an option in Spain! Overall, this place was fast and not expensive at all for what you get. read more

I have been to this place many times! It's been awhile so I went back today and it's just as good as ever! I ordered the half order of nachos and la mamacita! The nachos were great, had a mixture of real and fake cheese and great fresh avocado. I loved my torta too! My boyfriend order one that had chicken and it was also delicious. If you are looking for spicy, you can definitely find it here; they give you 3 sauces that are quite spicy! So delicious and I walked out super full! Good prices! A little small, i think there were like 8 tables (if that) so it's best to go with a small group! read more

I loveeeee this place! The owners are from Acapulco and truly serve authentic Mexican food. As someone who went to university in California, I was pretty used to shitty Mexican food. It wasn't until I really went all over Mexico for a roadtrip that my eyes opened up to what true Mexican food is about :) This place is the real deal in Madrid. I happened to find it by accident and just walked in. Ended up sitting for a good 3 hours, just sipping Micheladas and getting work done. That was last Saturday. This place is fantastic. I'm so happy I walked down this street on my way to Sol from Anton Martin. Authentic Mexican tortas, delicious sloppy sandwiches. I selected what sounded the most authentic to this non-Spanish speaker, the Cuauhtemoc features nopal y huevo. I never had cactus until visiting Madrid and the taste is growing on me. The sandwich was grilled before my eyes with beans, avocado, tomato, and cheese filling the remainder. Delicious. I hope to go back. They start you with jalapeno and cilantro chips also. read more

I haven't had the best experience with nachos in Madrid, but the ones at DF Bar were seriously amazing, with multiple types of gooey cheese and guac on top. We finished in approximately 30 seconds. The margaritas were also delicious, shaken right at the table. I like how they specialize in tortas, which is something you don't always see on Mexican menus in the states. Scrumptious, especially with their super spicy hot sauce. Came here on Cinco de Mayo, and it was the perfect celebration. :) read more

I don't know that it's authentic Mexican food, but it's pretty good (and more importantly SPICY!!) food none the less. It's a super small place, maybe 9 tables and some seating at the bar, so I'd imagine it could get noisy or have a pretty long wait. If you have to wait, it's worth checking out the global craft beer store just down the street! Every table has a bottle of homemade smokey red hot sauce on it- the kind you don't think is too spicy until it kicks you after. I LOVE spice, so this already was a good sign. Margaritas (5eu): FRESH, not made from a mix. salt on the rim, and the option to have it straight with rocks on the side (a perfect option). They are strong and delicious and well priced. Chips & Guac (8eu): Wish there was more guac for the chips, but still a decent amount of good guac, meaning just the right amount of salt and not too oniony. Served with a dish of much appreciated pickled jalepeno to spice it up if you wanted. Tortas (Tinga de pollo & Miss Piggy) (6.50-7.50eu each): These were both filling and delicious- the buns were toasted and pressed perfectly and the filling (both with a cheese/meat/sauce combo) they were hot, oozy and filling. I poured on the homemade hot sauce from the bottle on the table and some slices of the marinated jalepenos and my mouth was on fire- a feeling I've yet to have since in Spain. My friend got the mole tacos (I didn't try it) which came with 3 shells and a small bowl of filling. He said they were delicious but not nearly enough for a meal, so he ended up getting a second order. They have a deal if you order 3 of the same they'll knock a euro off the price. Went here last night with some friends and was very impressed with the quality of the food and the service was great! I ordered a Pacifico cerveza and was pleased with my drink! As far as food goes we ordered the tacos al pastor and the tacos al pibil both were great with amazing flavor and very savory! The prices were fair with my order coming out to ten euros for a beer and a very delicious taco plate. If you are looking for delicious mexican food in the heart of Madrid I would definitely recommend checking out the DF bar! Also the bar is perfectly located near very popular clubs and other bars so perfect place to get a quick bite to eat and then enjoy the rest of the night. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I think the food here was great. It was very quick and attentive and the service was as should be. However, I think it is a little pricey. Takos Al Pastor has the same offerings (maybe less options on the Tortas but I can live with that) and its all at half the price. Their tortas are like 6 EUR and up meanwhile Takos al Pastor are 3 EUR or 3.50 EUR. Don't get me wrong, the food was great but too pricey for me. Wouldn't go here if I'm on a budget! read more

For being a long way from Mexico, these tortas are to die for. First you start with the nachos, I know they don't have carne asada on the mm but damn their good. By the way they don't have carne asada anywhere in Spain . Then you sip on you beer or margarita. Then the torta comes and it's cooked to perfection. The toppings are just right and the bread is toasted right. I recommend coming here that small torta is going to fill you up, trust me I know I'm surprised too. read more

My boyfriend and I found this place through yelp and it happened to be just a few blocks down from the Cats Hostel where we are staying in Madrid. Though I've been loving the spanish tapas and pintxos I have been craving some authentic mexican food. I was not disappointed! To start the margaritas were made with fresh lime juice and simply divine. I had the tacos and it came swimming in a tomatillo verde sauce. Excellent. I would highly recommend this place. In my book, which as a mere figment of metaphorical speech doesn't literally exist, so don't look for it (though even if it did I don't know why you would -- it'd be 90% prattle, 10% substance, probably), sandwiches are evaluated on their ratio of pig parts to non-pig parts, favoring exorbitant quantities of the former. The porcine diet, you see, satisfies my hunger for sentient life. In the past, this hadn't given me so much as an iota of moral scruple-age. On the premises of DF, however, lust for the succulency (which I'm glad is a word) of animal consciousness between the enamel is taken much much too far. I've included two "much"s to denote the somber severity of what I'm about to say. Hold on to something. On the menu I found none other than Miss Piggy, presumably martyred. While admittedly a porcine creature, she has certain qualities that, I would think, generally preclude being eaten. For one, she has presented at the Oscars. Surely this is legitimate I'm-not-to-be-eaten behavior. The circumstances were striking enough to make me think a bit before chowing down. read more
