We undertook this project with a great deal of trepidation. Our 60-year old concrete driveway was…read morein sore need of replacement. We obtained several estimates and decided to go with a well-established contractor, Pavestone Brick Paving, based on their reputation and experience. (We decided against hiring landscapers who also installed pavers even though their quotes were somewhat lower.) We visited some paver driveways that Pavestone constructed in our village and were impressed with the quality of their work. We also were bolstered by a visit to their facility in Des Plaines where we met the office staff and viewed the construction equipment. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and pleasant. We worked with Sergio, and I was completely satisfied with the service that he provided. From his initial visit to our house, through the discussions of the quotation, and conversations during the ongoing work, he displayed a pleasant demeanor and maintained contact with us, by phone and email. I felt quite comfortable working with him. He made useful suggestions during the planning process, such as rerouting the lower section of our downspouts below ground to discharge into our yard. I was also pleased that he was able to replace an unneeded section of our old driveway with sod. He provided samples of paver stones to assist us in choosing the best fit for our house and even created computer-generated renderings, depicting our house and driveway with the selected pavers installed (see photo). The job began about a month after we signed the contract. The crew of 5 men, led by Hector, worked tirelessly over a period of 6.5 days, in heat and occasional (light) rain, leading to a very attractive outcome. Each worker knew exactly what to do, and the team did their job in concert like a well-oiled machine. (See the photos which depict the progress of the project, from start to finish.) We are quite pleased with the outcome; the result is an attractive driveway that has become the envy of my neighbors. I have received many compliments from them in the days following completion. In summary, Pavestone Brick Paving transformed the worn and aged look of our driveway and walkways into an aesthetically appealing complement to our house's facade. I give them my highest recommendation.

Six months later our driveway, sidewalk, apron, and walkway are completely falling apart. Xclusive spent 67 days "investigating" the damage only to come back and tell us we did this to ourselves by parking a car in the driveway allowing salt to drip on the concrete. As ridiculous as that sounds, we don't even own a second car that would park outside of our garage. This was after threatening us with $2,000 fee to test the concrete which we refused to pay. They also threated us when we advised we were going to provide our truthful review on social media, which they should know is against the Consumer Review Fairness Act. Nearly our entire driveway is damaged and with the surface falling apart. Our 20 year old driveway looked better. Do yourself a favor and contract with another concrete company that will stand by their work. As it stands, we are now forced to take them to court to have them do the right thing.

With that said, I do have some information I believe is of value to tell you. I requested a quote to repair or replacement of one square section of my sidewalk. It's about 31 inches by 40 inches and I fully expected it needs replacement. So they got back to me quickly and have been very responsive. That's the reason for the positive 4 stars that was given. So you are wondering what's the valuable info? It's that there is apparently a minimum charge. While this may not be a surprise to you, the minimum charge itself may be. They said it would cost me $2500 to replace that one section of sidewalk. That's $2500 not including permit fees, too much for me.... but maybe not for you. In any case, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them for an estimate in future. Just not for small jobs, as I'm sure I can find someone to replace one square section of sidewalk for less than $2500 +.

Outstanding Experience with Lunar Landscaping We recently…read moreworked with Vito at Lunar Landscaping on a full landscape redesign, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. From our very first conversation, Vito took the time to really listen to what we wanted. Rather than pushing a cookie-cutter plan, he asked thoughtful questions to understand our vision and our lifestyle, and it showed in everything that followed. What impressed us most was how well Vito conceptualized our vision and translated it into a clear, workable plan. He explained his ideas in a way that was easy to understand, walking us through the reasoning behind each recommendation so we always knew the "why" behind the design. Vito was also fantastic about offering practical, cost-saving suggestions without ever compromising the overall vision. He clearly knows how to stretch a budget creatively, pointing out where we could save money and where it was worth investing, all while keeping the end result cohesive and true to what we wanted. His plant and shrub knowledge was a huge help. He consulted with us on selections that would thrive in our specific conditions while still achieving the look we were going for. He brought the same level of expertise to the hardscape and lighting consultation, offering ideas that balanced form and function beautifully. One of the standout parts of the process was how Vito outlined the key architectural features of our home and explained how the landscaping could complement and accentuate them. It's clear he doesn't just design gardens, he designs landscapes that work in harmony with the house itself. We couldn't be happier with the process and the results. If you're looking for a landscaper who genuinely listens, brings creative and practical expertise, and cares about getting the details right, we highly recommend Vito and the team at Lunar Landscaping.
