2021 Chevy Colorado I pick up used, with a 2 inch lift. Within the first week I went over a speed bump, bam broke the front shock. (OEM shock) Talked with Steve at Dependable and even though he was busy he scheduled me in the next day. Installed two new Fox Performance shocks and I was good to go. Went there seeking advice for a VERY basic lift . Long hair freek know it all had no clue . Super opinionated and big smart ass , apparently he is a successful millionaire because he is able to turn customers away . Oh and had to explain how to put the lift on and what an OEM part was . From the looks of it he and his 15 year olds only do F250's . All I wanted was a simple lift on a grocery getter and I guess he's to good for that , money is money pal especially nowadays. Steve needs to change the name of his business. Great guy but not dependable at all. Took my series 80 to him for a bunch of odds and ends I wanted done. Half of it they decided didnt need done so just didnt do it and the items that really needed done they didnt finish. I was having overheating issues and I told him to replace the whole cooling system and of course they didnt so still have the same issue. The screwiest part is money wasnt an issue. I just wanted the job done right. They had it two times for a total of seven weeks. I had to cancel numerous trips. If they were honest upfront and didnt want the work I understand. Theres just no reason to drag it out the way they do. read more

The day before a long trip up north, and less than 15 mins before they closed, the owner heard my concerns and pointed me in the direction of the best available part for something I had been putting off for way too long. Safety was my big concern so I was thrilled when my Jeep was out front and ready to go in minutes. I love my Jeep and I know what I want to do with it so I really appreciate the respect the owner had for what I wanted vs what was the quickest or most expensive route. This is great shop. As a heads up, if you're used to being catered to like a bigger or more corporate shop, then this might not be your cup of tea. It's a smaller shop and they were busy both times I went in - good for them. I went in for some new suspension components on my 1st Gen Tacoma. Amazingly, they were able to order the parts in a timely manner - seems like back orders are the standard, right now. From order to install was about a week - fairly quick given the circumstances. Truck rides much better and the work seems proper after a 2 months of driving and the Mojave Road. read more

I just bought a lifted 2 wheel drive 99 Tahoe and needed to have suspension work done, I went to 3 off road shops to ask questions before choosing this shop, the other shops tried to upsell me on things I knew the truck didn't need and were not right for it and they also made me feel insecure about the fact that is was 2 wheel drive. When I asked the same questions at Dependable off road I got honest answers from Steve and was not oversold at all so I chose them. I feel VERY comfortable with my choice. This shop is the real deal, it's not beautiful and shiny and well decorated inside like the others, you don't have "salesman" behind the counter, it's the owner of the shop and he knows what he is doing and what he is talking about, that is what matters! My truck is there now (April 10, 2018) getting the work done, so far I am very happy with them and I am sure I will be happy with the results, I will update when the truck is picked up. read more

I have come to the shop for two upgrades and come to realize they are really really good at what they do. Most of all though, you just can't beat their prices. First time they added a Fox steering damper which I would totally recommend when adding bigger tires to your vehicle. The second time was because my front end was completely out of whack. My driveshaft had pushed the axle off to one side due to the improper left that someone else had put on. It was off by an inch and a half. They gave me all the recommendations and during my upgrade he found a problem that could have cost me quite a few bills. Instead of trying to upsell, his technician just grabbed a washer, welded a few pieces together and saved my front end. I believe any other shop would have just rather taken my money as I would have had no choice but to make the repair. Because of this, I completely trust them with any other work that my JK needs. I will be visiting them in the next couple of weeks as I'm already working on getting a different upgrade. read more

I bought a tonneau cover from them and had them install it. I brought it back because I didn't like how it sat in my truck bed. Wasn't as flush as I was expecting. They took my truck to the back too "readjust" it this happened twice in a matter of 10-15 minutes. The job was rushed and it resulted in my brand new truck getting several scratches. I told Steve about it and he didn't even apologize, but he did offer to have his guys try and buff them out. I didn't take him up on the offer because first off the job should have been done right in the first place and second if they took care of their customer's trucks than mine would have never been been scratched up in the first place. And the tonneau cover I went with is the Undercover which he assured me would not leak and that they have installed 1000s so he knew what he was talking about. Mine leaked after the first rain. A month later the screws are rusted and one has already broken off. Now I'm stuck with scratches and a defective tonneau cover. In short I would recommend going to a friendlier shop that treats your trruck like it's theirs and are careful not to scratch it. Pride in ones work is very important. read more

I just called dependable off road to get some work quoted and schedule an appointment. I spoke to Steve and was able to get an appointment set for 2 days out. Last week I installed: front shocks and struts, tie-rods, half shafts, wheel hub and bearings, dropped the front diff, relocated sway bar, and upsized rotors and calipers. I called to request an alignment then after I got a good quote on that inquired about installing rear shocks and springs. So far service has been superior to other places I've called, actually has appointments available and was very courteous and gave good advice on the phone. I will update this review Friday evening with the quality of work performed, thus far though I'm impressed with service level. *************update*********** I dropped car off Friday morning. Owner was very nice, as I was very late due to a leak I had discovered after moving car. Work went flawlessly, quick, and above expectations. They did all work (rear shocks and springs/alignment) for quoted price and was ready sane day. They even took a look at the above mentioned leak for me, although nothing found. Wasn't leaking anymore. I dropped one star because I did not receive a call when complete. I started driving over before closing and when I got there the car was parked and engine cool, so it was done for a little while. Other than that small issue everything else was great! I will definitely have more of my work done here and recommend friends as well! Staff was very courteous and gave recommendations when asked. ***********update*************** So it's been nearly a month since having work done by dependable off-road. I have only done street driving as work has been busy lately. Saturday morning I was driving home from Home Depot and heard a weird rattling sound. I stopped and got out to look, to my surprise the driver side rear shock has popped out of its top cup and sitting fully extended in the wheel well. Some damage occurred to the wheel well due to the fully extended shock making contact with the well. The nut is still on the shock so I'm not sure what went wrong other than improper installation. I will be calling this morning to see if they offer to make things right. Will update after rework is complete. Photo to show what I saw attached. ***********update************** Called and dependable off road was more than willing to take a look at it. Performed the repair and called when complete. Going to take a look at the work. So far every encounter with dependable off road has been pleasurable and I will be going back for work to be done. read more

My truck steering has been off I took it in to repair it and was told it was fixed.. Well It wasn't!! my truck locked as I was making a left and I almost crashed!! I kept telling them my truck was rubbing on something every time I would make a left. My husband figured out that the steering stabilizer clamp was never put in tightly and it became loose and completely and tweeted my bolt and damaged my upgraded shock!!! It was a VERY VERY CARELESS mistake that could of caused an accident and i am NOT HAPPY AT ALL!! read more

I went to Dependable Off Road to get new shocks on my Toyota Tundra. I noticed it was a busy shop, but not too busy to be very courteous as soon as walked in. The shocks I wanted weren't easy to find, but DOR put in the work and found the specific shocks I wanted. I ordered the shocks, and a few day later had them installed. When I picked up my truck everything was as I expected, and was as promised. The best thing was, originally my front tires rubbed if I made extreme turns. DOR fixed this for me without me asking, and for no charge. My overall experience with DOR was 5 stars. read more

I had a few things done on my brand new RAM 2500. Leveling kit and 35" tires and new wheels, the folding bed cover, a LED light bar in front, and wheel to wheel side steps. Steve was awesome to deal with. I originally called to get a quote over the phone before selecting Dependable, and his quote was a good amount cheaper than other local shops. And when I went in to get everything ordered, he stuck by his quote, and walked through every item, helping me select each item online, answered all questions to pick out the right items for what I wanted. Super nice guy to work with, and everything came out perfect! I followed a couple recommendations for the leveling kit in order to improve the suspension with 2.0 FOX shocks, and WOW, I'm soooo happy with the way this RAM drives now---10 times better than factory ride, and even better ride than my Tundra!
