I called Jerry at American and discussed options for a tonneau cover and bedliner for my 2023 Ford F-150. Jerry was quite helpful, and I decided on the penda liner and Bakflip MX4 for my truck. Jerry took a deposit to order the liner, and Jose called me when the liner was in. We scheduled the installation, which was completed today. I arrived and checked in with both Jerry and Jose, both great guys and very professional. I left the truck and had breakfast, then returned to watch some of the installation and meet Raymond, the technician who did a fantastic job on installing the liner and Bakflip. I also met Delfino, AKA "El Hefe" or "Patron". Great team of amazing people and terrific skills. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Jerry at American Camper Shells & Vans was beyond frustrating. I ordered a Snug top Rebel camper shell back on May 8, 2025 and I was given delivery date estimate of 5-6 weeks for my camper shell. I contacted Jerry serval times over the next few weeks, but he was either off for the day or out of office and I would never receive a phone call back. I would have to continually call and maybe just maybe would catch him and he would be available to answer the phone. BTW don't leave a message and with a fellow employees and expect it to get to him or him to call you back. After 8 weeks I contacted Jerry to find out an update on my Snug Top. He put me on hold for 30 secs and came back saying it's gonna be another 2-3 weeks. I said that's unacceptable and asked to speak to his manage. I spoke with Oscar and was informed that it would take 24/48 hrs to get a response from Snug about my order, but wait didn't Jerry just give me a approximate timeline of 2-3 weeks? Where did Jerry get this Info? He simply made it up out of thin air. Because after speaking with the Leer/Snug rep I was informed that several molds were damaged it transport from the old factory in Mexico the the new one Indiana. According to the rep they still have orders from February that haven't been fulfilled and have no ETA on any camper shell at this time. Jerry repeatedly lied about when it would be ready, giving me false promises instead of honest updates. On top of this I had camping site reservations and planed multiple trips based on their claims--only to find out that nothing had changed and they were going to cancel my order. Now I have lost my place in line and have no faith in Leer/Snug and American Camper Shells & Vans. Save your money and time and don't do business with either of these companies. Communication was poor, and there was no sense of accountability or urgency from their team. If they had just been upfront from the start, I might have been more understanding. Instead, I was strung along for weeks and lied to repeatedly. I can't recommend this company to anyone who values honesty, reliability, or basic customer service. read more

I purchased and had installed a bed cover for my Dodge truck from American Camper Shells Company about 10 years ago , recently the weather stripping that is glued under the bed lid to keep water out of the bed fell off , I contacted the company and was happy they were still in business and talked to the owner Mark , I explained my situation and he informed me that I had 1 year manufacturer warranty on parts and the weather stripping was not under warranty and this was most likely normal wear and tear but did offer to look at it and see what my options were , after taking my truck to his location he explained that I could purchase a new weather stripping and they would install at no charge or since the old weather stripping was still good that they could clean the surface and reglue the stripping back on but no guarantee. I agreed to regluing my stripping back down since it was still in good shape. After his employee cleaned up the old glue off the bed lid and also off the stripping he then reglued it back on and instructed us to let the weight of the lid sit on the stripping for a few days. After I went into the office to pay for the labor the owner Mark informed me that he wasn't going to charge me and feels that taking care of a customer was more important. The stripping is still on and holding strong . I really appreciate how I was treated and taken care of by the owner and his employee that went above and beyond what I was expecting. This company sells and installs bed liners, camper shells and tonneau covers and installation. I'm obsessed with our build out! No detail was spared. It was so easy and fun to work with the AVW team. I went sustainable with bamboo, and fun and funky with a bright teal bed/couch. It's a show stopper that I get a lot of compliments on. Has flood lights, shower, fridge, tons of storage, sink, five tables, swivel chairs, hot water, solar, and added heat. I purchased a brand new $4k snug top shell and was bought on an up-sale of their handy shell rack for a extra $500. Whomever at American Camper shell in Stanton had installed the rack crooked and one of the bolts is very offset and stressed causing it leak water through into the inside. I had brought this concern to the companies attention the first couple weeks of me driving it off their lot and they had told me "all shells leak even though this is brand new", which is bullshit. So I gave them a chance driving back to their shop to have them fix it multiple times (5+ times) no exaggerations. And still I have a leaking brand new shell. Not fixed. Requested a exchange- denied! I'm pissed and didn't want to write this review but, fuck it. I paid over 4K for this shell and rack and this is bullshit! I was also told by the owner, Mark, that "I am receiving free work" for them to fix their mistake. Hate to break it to you. But you were talking over my voice on the phone and in person didn't want to hear me out but, THIS IS NOT FREE WORK WHEN THE JOB SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME.... And I am a paying customer, I shouldn't have to deal with this crap of investigating the quality of the installment to figure out why the fuck my new shell is leaking. It's obvious it was installed wrong. So, I called snug top. The manger told me to send video and pictures of the faulty shell and installment and they would settle this concern for me. So I emailed him all he asked for and it's been over a month now and no response. FYI since I've owned this shell all and I mean all ove my windows have leaked. The rack leaks. This is in response to Simon G. below: First I want to make it clear that I am not sending this for ACS. I just happen to be the retired guy Mr. Simon G. is claiming mishandled his warranty claim. I was contacted by the company to see if I recalled any of his claims. Which I did not. Having said that I did my own research and below is a recap. 1. if I sent him emails then I would assume he should have a copy and be able to forward that info to ACS like they have requested, he has not done that. A. just producing an email indicating we would handle a claim is not proof that your shell was ever removed at our location. 2. If I did respond to a warranty claim a few things would have happened. A. he would have to schedule an appointment for us to look at his shell B. once he arrived we would have looked at the items he wanted to have repaired under warranty C. if we felt it needed to be returned to Snugtop--in this case according to his post it appears it may have been structural which we would have called Snugtop to obtain an MRA for return. D. if the shell had to be removed then Mr. Simon G. would have received paperwork with items he is claiming needed fixed. We would have indicated on the paperwork that the shell was being returned to Snugtop for further evaluation. E. if for some reason an MRA or a shell was left on lot it would have been noticed at the end of the month during our regular serialized inventory that I performed. Any shell that was on the lot and did not match our current inventory and did not have an MRA was questioned. F. the shell could not have been sent back to Snugtop without an MRA from Snugtop and a pick up invoice from Snugtop 3. in his photo that he claims is the day he dropped the shell off with us and has a date and time stamp to prove that he left it???? A. first and foremost the shell is still on the truck and from the looks of it no one is working on it to remove it. It is not even in the install area. B. the best part is the date it is from April 19, 2023, the funny thing is the window from his photo (1st) and (3rd) shows a reflection of a truck. Not possible because during COVID that window was broken and we had life style images installed instead of regular tint. see photo (2). I took this photo from a Google review dated 8-12-22. Furthermore, there were other changes made to the building before his so called proof of dropping his shell off. C. why wait almost a year before contacting anyone about your shell? D. his claim that Snugtop confirmed his shell was registered by someone else is complete nonsense. Once a unit is no longer owned by the 1st owner the shell is considered used and is no longer under warranty so Snugtop would have no reason to accept the new registration. F. I confirmed this with my 30 years of contacts at Snugtop. They never confirmed to Mr. Simon G. that his shell was registered by someone else. 4. Is ACS perfect? No business is but I can tell you from 30 years with the company they go above and beyond more than most in this industry. ***they did not deserve the so called one star rating from Simon G. Update 4 March 2024: Just got confirmation from SnugTop that my camper shell is registered to a new owner and was able to get in contact with the person confirming they bought it from American Camper Shells as a used camper. All the blame was placed on me from the owners and kept asking me to prove I bought it from them and dropped off my camper shell for a warranty claim. I provided a sales order and have emails from a John that used to work there confirming they would handle my warranty. How convenient they can't access John's email anymore to confirm my camper shell drop off. I'm out $3,200 all because they don't want to admit their mistake. Thought I would post a review while things are in process with my warranty claim. Background info, I purchased a camper shell from this business in 2020. Along the way I have had some issues with the camper, most were minor. In 2023 I had major structural damage from a crack they stated would be no issue and it was just the gel coating from the camper shell cracking. The crack turned major and I had to have it removed from my truck sooner rather than later to avoid further damage. I arranged a drop off date and time with one of their employees, who has since retired. Unfortunately all I have is a picture time stamped on the day it was removed and my purchase order. Someone failed to properly document the removal of my camper shell and warranty. I'm working with SnugTop and the owners to come to a resolution, hopefully replacing my shell that either the manufacturer or American Leisure Products. SnugTop is stating my camper shell is more than likely lost due to improper documentation on American Leisure Products part and unfortunately this business is stating it's impossible for this to happen because they are the perfect company. I am an Electrician, and I very mechanical. I have been doing this for over 20 years. What does this have to do with camper shells?? Well, I had these guys run power for my shell. First thing- they gave me my truck back and it was wired incorrectly. The brake light just stayed on.... came back to fix it. Then they tried to hurry back to their other projects-pulled wires out and reconnected them. I was very disappointed when I looked at the install. Wires in my cab-pulled tight and are going to pull out. Also when I release my parking brake-the brake hits the wires, cause they are pulled so tight! Then looked at the under carriage. Wires just hanging under frame. They didn't hide them, and try to protect these wires. Zip ties not cut, just left them hanging also. Not professional at all, hacks. Obviously they don't have qualified people.... but, are charging qualified prices. If your gonna do it.... do it right. I will be redoing the install they botched!! Will not ever take any vehicle here again. Do your self a favor. Go somewhere else!!! Out of the 5 times I delt with these folks, I left there feeling like I had been robbed. Never again. read more

I had another great experience working with the Sales and Service team at American Camper Shells yesterday morning 7/7/22. At the recommendation of a friend I visited the Stanton facility over 2 years ago to look for a Camper Shell and was impressed with the assistance, suggestions/recommendations that were made. As a result I purchased a Snug Top and Bed Rug for my Silverado 2500HD. Fast forward to this past 4th of July weekend, our family was camping and the Snug Top was accidentally scratched. After returning our trailer to storage I stopped by the Stanton shop to see what they would recommend to make the repair and was greeted with the same "what do you need and how can we help" response. The same sales person who helped us with our original purchase (Jerry Vargas) asked if the truck was on the lot, I said yes and he wend out to inspect the damage. He then asked two of the installation technicians who were working on other vehicles nearby to render their opinion on what they thought could be done to repair the damage. Needless to say, within 30 minutes +/- they were able to remove/buff out the scratch and the Snug Top looks like new again. I can't say enough about the team effort and the level of service that all the folks provided to get me back on the road with a smile on my face. I had been debating about putting a camper on my truck for about a year. I was concerned about how it would handle after adding the height/weight. I've pulled trailers and driven Class A Motorhomes up to 40' diesel pushers; however, really wanted something that could "go anywhere" and I liked the concept of a camper so I visited American Camper Shells to learn more. Do not do business with American Camper Shell. When they installed my camper shell they cut corners to save on their costs by not sealing the camper to the bed of the truck. When the camper leaked during current rains they will not honor the leaks. The rear hatch gas struts did not hold up for even 3 months. American Camper Shell said they will replace them and when it came to replacing them they said it will not be covered. Be aware and take your business to a better more knowledgeable place. read more

American Camper Shells is a full service shop that sells all types of camper shells, lids, tri folds, custom shells, etc. We were given a tour of each option for the truck before we settled on the tri fold hard top. They were able to install it that evening as soon as our truck came out of it's previous appointment at Tuff Skin. The installation took under 2 hours. The staff was all helpful and knowledgeable. When we picked up our truck the technician showed us how everything works and was put together. He took his time and asked if we had any questions and made sure we knew that we can bring it back if anything should go wrong. I've come to this place twice to get parts for my camper shell. Customer service is terrible. I've never once received a call back, I have to do all the follow up myself. The last order I placed, I was told it would be in in a couple days. It took nearly a month. I recently went in to order a duplicate key for my camper shell. The guy behind the counter took my name and number and said he would get back to me...nothing happened. I've given up on this place. Jerry answered the phone here and was more than helpful and asked me to come in at 2:00 p.m. that day and he'd be able to help me out since it wouldn't release the lock. I went and had the struts for my tonneau cover replaced. The service was excellent. This place has all kinds of different covers and accessories. The rubber seal around my tonneau cover was hanging and without asking the repairman glued it back up. Overall I am very satisfied and happily recommend this business. read more
