They were super friendly, reliable and honest. We only moved a few blocks within San Francisco but we have a lot of stuff including a hot tub that needed to be squeezed through the tightest spots you can imagine. In addition, our move happened during the pandemic. The movers came well prepared with tons of extra boxes for hanging clothes, tape and wrapping foil and treated our stuff with outmost respect. They were very polite and fast and made the entire moving experience a lot less painful. We would totally use them again if we ever had to go through another move. read more

I didn't expect to have this really bad experienced with Dependable Movers based from the 70+ positive reviews. But that's what happened yesterday... We moved to a building adjacent to the old one. So we didnt need a truck but this is still a regular move!. Two guys from Dependable Movers who were 35 minutes late showed up with 2 dollies and a flat one... nothing else!! No boxes, packing materials, protective sheets .. nothing else. I was shocked! My first impulse is to just send the guys home and not proceed with the move but we already started turning up everything the day before so it's inconvenient to start booking again. We used our own blankets to protect tv, monitors etc. I emailed Gulia but never heard back. If they sub contracted the job, they are still responsible to make sure the guys have the proper materials to do the job if this is their own guys... I don't know what else to say... We were not upset with the 2 young men who did the job, they did the best way they can , But companies should have certain protocols and standards. read more

Alim, Dima, Igor and Arman team helped us with long distance move. They are super nice and efficient. Dependable is the only company that could do this move in one day after I called 10+ moving companies. They wrapped everything very well, protected the furnitures well! Also we discovered some extra items to move, they are very happy to help. Would work with this crew again next time we move. read more

I will never use anyone else in the Bay area again -- honestly the best movers I've ever used. They didn't just go above and beyond (more on how below), they were so good I'm writing this review minutes after the move. We had two movers from Dependable Movers move our one-bedroom apartment into storage. When the movers and my wife arrived at our intended storage facility after hours (which I'd setup independently), we discovered that the unit we'd rented was far too small. Dependable Movers didn't miss a beat -- they immediately jumped into action and helped us secure new storage on the spot, while also being incredibly patient, kind, and thoughtful throughout. Since we weren't there when they moved our belongings into the new storage, they provided pictures to show the finished job. I've moved several times -- both in the Bay area and nationally -- and this is by far the best customer service and experience I've ever had with a moving company -- I mean it that I'll never use anyone else. Few other details: Their prices were not just reasonable but highly competitive. They were extremely communicative from quote thru the move. We packed most of our things, but did had Dependable Movers pack up our kitchen and a few other breakable objects as part of the move and they did an outstanding job. read more

I have to say, Dependable Movers is the BEST moving company I have ever used. They were simply amazing in every aspect. Kind, courteous, professional and also very organized and efficient. They made a very stressful move much easier. I couldn't recommend these guys more. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Mark and his team are simply great. They took down everything well and set everything back up again. They really made it easy. They were also very careful with all of our items. Highly recommend these guys. read more

Dependable Movers was amazing and a must use! I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know and will 100% use them again if I need to. The manager, Justin, was so responsive and gave really detailed, honest price quotes which is rare for moving companies as they always want to nickel and dime customers. He texted me the night before to confirm the time and assure me they'd be there on time. Not only were they early to assess the move but were SO FAST! I've had movers in the past that took their time to move everything in order to get more money. Not the situation here!! Baur and Ugar took a 3+ hour move and made it 2, and even gave me extra boxes (free of charge) for the little items. They were so fast, friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

The team here was fantastic! Planning the move was extremely easy and smooth. They were very thorough, responsive, and prompt. I haven't booked many moves before, but their online estimate and booking system gave me a lot of peace of mind. They also confirmed the day before the move to make sure we were all set. On the day of the move, the team arrived on time as expected. They were very friendly and respectful. One hiccup we encountered was that the truck was a bit on the smaller side. After doing the walk through after arriving, they said their truck was sized for a 1 bedroom, and we had more stuff than a typical one bed (which to be fair, is true...we lived in a large 1 bedroom). In fact, they said that they may have to do multiple trips, which is not ideal for a 1.5 hr roundtrip. But they said they would try their best to fit it all. During the loading process, the guys were great. They took good care of all of the furniture - take care to wrap it and protect it. They were also very careful with all of the boxes, and took extra precautions with "fragile" items. We did hit another snag that our sofa didn't through our front door. After trying a few times, they ended up just taking the sofa apart. All in all, the loading took about 4 hours, which was a bit longer than I expected. But they were able to fit it all in the truck, so I was happy! On the unload portion, this took them probably about an hour. Much quicker than loading the truck! Again, they did a great job here, taking care to make sure the items got into the room we wanted, and also were happy to relocate things as needed. Overall, was very impressed and happy with the help from Dependable Movers! read more

**UPDATED** Gulia was very diligent about following up on the mandatory tip situation. Her commitment to addressing all my concerns makes me even more confident to recommend this service to anyone in the future! -------------------------------- I had to move during the first week of COVID-19 lockdown, and really appreciated Gulia's quick responses to all of my concerns and making the move happen in the end, despite the city's vague shelter-in-place guidelines. Sergey and Max were the ones helping me with my junior 1-bed apartment. I had almost all of my possessions packed in boxes before they came, besides my clothing which they were able to stash into wardrobe boxes. They were strong, fast, and efficient with transporting the boxes and furniture. They took care of my items and made sure not to tilt any boxes. I think almost everything was loaded into the truck after an hour. When they were unloading, they would ask where to place all the belongings for easier unpacking. Sergey and Max's professionalism gave me peace of mind and helped eliminate a lot of the stress from moving. Now onto the pricing. Technically there are no hidden charges when they give you the quote, however, I was still taken by surprise by the final total which included the 1 hour driving charge billed at the same rate as the move itself, as well as a mandatory 18% tip. The 1 hour drive did give me some pause - the distance between the two places was only 1.4 miles, and should've taken around 10 minutes on a day like that with no traffic. I think they could be a little more transparent with how the driving charge is calculated and charged, especially when it contributes a nontrivial amount to the final total. I paid more than $700 for a junior bedroom move, which is definitely on the very pricey side. Given that this was a tough situation to be in, I did honestly really appreciate how reliable these guys were, and putting their health at risk by showing up for this job. Though the price is at a bit of a premium, I do think you pay for what you get as these guys can be counted on to get the job done smoothly. They are true to their name of Dependable Movers! read more

These guys work very hard and fast. I booked them through yelp and Gulia responded back in one hour. Since there was a lot of furniture to move, she sent one of their people to visit few days in advance to make an estimate. The estimate was close to the actual time needed to make the move. Eathan led the crew: Arman, Nick, Avvas. He was friendly and made sure that the work was efficiently carried on. read more

I recently moved from Mill Valley to North Carolina. I did my homework, and got quotes from several of the large national companies. Even though I lived in a flat, accessible part of town, all of them planned to load a "shuttle" which would then take my houseful of stuff to the 18-wheeler that would transport it across the country, with one or two other households. None of them could assure delivery in less than 21 days. I chose one with competitive rates and great reviews, only to find that the reviewing website was bogus, and really just a paid advertisement, even though it appeared to be a consumer advocacy organization. I started hearing horror stories from friends who had moved across the country, so I continued to search for a company that was highly recommended. It didn't seem to exist in the industry. Then I found Dependable Movers. All those 5-star reviews seemed too good to be true, but they are the real deal. Gulia was very helpful and straightforward on the phone, and was more than gracious when a PG&E outage delayed departure by a day. They were able to load my belongings directly onto a 26-ft truck. By eliminating the need for a shuttle, this minimized the risk of loss or damage. The team was great - Max, Baur, Sasha & Andrew were all hard-working and thoughtful and respectful. They filled every inch of that truck like a giant Tetris game. I had packed most of my belongings, but they wrapped the furniture in blankets and shrink wrap. They also packed the fragile +/or bulky items expertly. A lot of my furniture has glass doors or shelves, and none of it was damaged. The only damage was to an old metal file cabinet that I don't care about. The best part about the move was that we crossed the country simultaneously. I was in the car with my pets. They arrived in NC a day before I did because they had 2 drivers, and they graciously waited for me. They unloaded as soon as I arrived, and I was sleeping in my own bed that night! The fact that they were able to do that alleviated so much of the stress of moving, and it was truly a joy to work with them. Thank you, Dependable Movers - you're doing it right! read more

Dimitri, Max and Peter were phenomenal and extremely hard-working. I was quoted a 5-6 hour move and they got the job done in a little under 4 hours. Baur stopped by my place the night before to assess the move. He said everything looked as described in my inquiry and we agreed to start the move between 9:30am - 11am. The next day, Baur called me at 9am and said he'll be there in 45 mins. Baur, Sasha and Max arrive on time and everyone was excited to start on the move. These guys did an amazing job wrapping everything to ensure nothing was damaged. I was trying to help with some of the move but they always politely said they got it. I should've just stepped back and let the pros handle it. These guys are fast, just stay out of their way :) The entire move went perfectly, thank you guys! read more

Setting up an appointment for my move was easy as Gulia is flexible and available to answer questions promptly. I had scheduled a move for a 3 bedroom apartment and before the move they sent a foreman to provide an estimate of hours it would take which was quite accurate. They also provided their own packaging materials for the move. When the move took place a team of four movers showed up on time and were very efficient wrapping and packing items. They also asked questions when items were being wrapped, disassembled and assembled which was helpful in avoiding any confusion. In short this moving Company is efficient, friendly, accommodating, fairly priced compared to similar moving companies and provides you with the service agreed upon. I would definitely recommend them. read more

We had a great experience with Dependable Movers. I called last minute (Friday morning) for a Sunday afternoon move in San Francisco. Gulia confirmed they can do the job, and their price was more competitive than anyone else I called. The movers (Erkin and Kit) showed up 15 minutes early and had great attitudes. They immediately went to work. We live on a busy street in Russian Hill, and they had no issues double parking and moving the truck whenever needed. The drop off location was in downtown San Francisco, on the second floor walk-up off the Embarcadero. Once again, they worked around the busy neighborhood and never complained once about the difficulty of the move. They also completed the move in less than their 3 hour estimate. Payment was also super easy with Venmo, which came with a discounted hourly rate. We would definitely use them again. Thank you! read more

I'm so happy I went with Dependable Movers again for my move from San Francisco to San Jose. The movers showed up right on time and they began packing immediately. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for help moving. In the 7 years that I've lived in California I've moved 6 times. With Dependable Movers everything from the first phone call to the end of the move was handled professionally and promptly. Max and Sergei were an excellent team. They disassembled all the furniture and reassembled it in the new home without a scratch! They were also very courteous, and gave us a heads up they were running a little late, which was only 30 mins. We thought we were only going to have about 10 boxes plus all the furniture, but we ended up having almost twice as much stuff, but it all fit in their truck, and they didn't tell us they couldn't take the extra stuff. They ended up working 2 hours longer than the estimated quote, but the new building was only street parking, and took 2 elevators to get up to the 8th floor. This was the best moving experience we've had compared to all the moving companies we've used before. read more

Friendly, fast, affordable: these folks did our move with less than 24 hours notice. Wow! Thanks team.

I never write reviews, but I have moved a bunch of times in my 30 years on this earth, and so far Arman and Islam from dependable movers are topping off the list at #1! I moved from a 1 bedroom to a storage unit, and had them use blankets and take apart all major pieces of furniture (bed, couch, etc.) and they packaged everything neatly and handled with extreme care and efficiency. Once they arrived at the storage unit I had them reorganize and fit everything into a unit I thought would never work! I liked them so much for that first move that I am using them again to move from storage to a house. I asked them if I should use a third guy for the second move, and they told me it would be best for a faster move. If you pay cash it's $10 off the normal hourly rate, and for return customers there is also a discount. read more

I have only good things to say. Everything from getting in person quote to paying the guys after everything was moved in went smoothly and seamlessly. The three movers we got moving from our 2 bedroom apartment to a two bedroom two-story house in Alameda worked fast and were extremely polite. The final price became lower than the estimate which pretty much never happens. So we made sure we over-tipped :) The manager Justin kept checking in with me by text making sure things very running well. Would definitely use them again when it's time to move. read more

Part 2 of my move a year later was equally as stellar as the first. Alvin, Melvin & Serge arrived with a truck load from storage in SF... upon arrival they worked so hard even after a long 3 hour drive. All 3 were incredible, tireless and positive after a long haul. And - I should mention - they packed my things (in review part) one so skillfully that not a thing was damaged. Thanks guys and Dependable Movers... y'all deserve 5 star and more. read more

Small 1BR intra-SF move with packing assistance. Team of 3 guys (unfortunately did not get their names) arrived a few minutes before our morning arrival window. Packing was completed with care and attention to individually wrapping breakables. The price/hour may not seem that competitive compared to some other companies at first, but realizing this included ALL packing materials and there was absolutely no nickel/diming, it was actually a very good value. For example, my building requires a COI (certificate of insurance), another company I received a quote from wanted to charge a significant fee for providing this, while it was provided by Dependable free of charge. read more

DEPENDABLE MOVERS [full disclosure: we are particular about how we treat our belongings. not to say we are neatniks but we enjoy the things we collect and treasure our nostalgic items. it's very likely we approached this move more skeptical than most, certain that no company of strangers could treat our things the way we would. enter Dexpendable Movers.] we were warned to have everything in good order when the movers showed at the door, because 'they'd barge in like a swarm of locusts' and head for different parts of the house, grabbing and hauling. so i was especially determined to block that stampede enough to convey the things i needed them to know before beginning the long process. there was that dresser with the chipped leg, the pull-down cabinet with the loose screw, the dining table that had leaves underneath and the coffee table that separated if you pulled instead of pushed it. plus, we were told 5-6 guys would show up, all wanting to scope out the layout ; too many for us to corral and show the ropes before the whistle would blow and they'd scatter to different rooms. and it was early, around unholy 8:30. we had gone to bed dazed, amid notes, bags and boxes, suitcases and stacks, frames lined against the wall. we woke too suddenly, knowing we didn't know how the day would unfold . prior to moving day, we worked with our consultant and phone contact, ethan, who was just perfect in his role. he assured us when we were nervous, recommended when we were unsure and advised when we didn't know. he compromised where it helped us and waited patiently when we needed time. and through it all, ethan was almost always available when we needed an answer or information. having ethan both available and easily accessible was such a relief to us, plus he was always polite and quick to answer no matter how often we called. and when the doorbell rang that early morning, were we in for a surprise! the first guy in identified himself as the foreman, sergei, and behind him 5 more guys quietly filed in. we were able to walk with sergei room to room while we showed him the trickier, more fragile pieces; he made notes on his clipboard while the others watched and listened in. nothing seemed too difficult or troublesome to sergei, the process was all very calm and organized from the start and we were quickly more at ease with everything. there was no rushing or grabbing; , instead, efficient but careful wrapping and taping of almost everything before taking it out to the truck on a dolly. the more heavy pieces seemed to be handled as readily as the lighter ones. there was just the minimum amount of talking among them to get the job done, with an occasional polite question or comment to us. it turned out that we needed another van (they had tried to avoid this right up until the end, to keep our cost down, but we could see there was no way it would all fit in one truck). when sergei put in a call for it after advising us first, there was no real delay because the movers kept working while it was on the way. without veering too much from the subject, i should add that we had an emergency situation on the drive to the new house some 90 minutes away that prevented us from meeting the movers to unload. one person from our family had gone ahead and he remained the only one there when the 2 vans arrived -- but he didn't know all that much about where things went-- from the dozens of separate boxes to furniture, frames and even plants. nevertheless, between him and the flexible, dedicated crew, they found a likely place for everything and kept at it until the last item was safely locked away, long past the dinner hour. and we later heard that there was almost some fun and humor among them throughout the process. when you think of the factors involved when rating a moving company -- and there are quite a few -- we can say without hesitation that Dependable Movers scores at the top in every way. we cannot imagine a more pleasant, reliable, accessible group of conscientious movers! read more

I hired this company at an estimate of $165/ hr plus some fees like gas. Nbd right? Wrong. Three hours of work came to $760 for an In-Town move. The mover then asked me for a tip. $760/3=$253.33/hr. Explain to me why you're not making enough money though your employment. Go join a Union, but don't expect us to supplement your wages after being price gouged. I make less than $20 and hour and it cost me almost a month I rent to hire you guys who took my whole couch apart for no reason, further wasting my time (=$$). This review is late because I have been debating for a while if I should write this review; mainly because Justin the manager was kind and did refund us $200. I reached out asking if the company would be able to move us from SF to our new home in Sacramento. I sent pictures of our apartment and things before I even received a quote. They said they could do the job and confirmed for the time and date we needed. Great! Come moving day, they sent only 3 guys to help and one of them was just helping (not an even actual employee) because they were short handed. It took them over 10 hours to box up our stuff and put it into the truck. Okay, understandable; we were paying by the hour but it seemed a bit excessive. My husband and I started helping with the move because it was getting super late and we still had to drive to Sac. They told us they couldn't fit everything in the truck and they had to leave a good portion of our stuff behind! At that point we just didn't even care and just wanted to leave. We start driving and get to our new home in 1.5 hours. We wait. And wait....and wait. No truck, no correspondence with the driver. I call Justin and he followed up saying they took a break and should be there shortly. I understand completely taking a break but it should have been told to us before so we knew! We thought our stuff was gone. They finally get to our house (1.5 hours after us) and there was only 2 of them. The other guy had to go. Whhhhat?! I told Justin and he did refund us 200.00. all of our lamps were broken and most of the furniture was banged up and scratched. Now we have to also rent a U haul on our own and move the remainder of our stuff. Super disappointed in this company. Seriously, look elsewhere if you need a professional and hassle free move. read more
