6 years after moving to Mill Valley, i finally decided it was time to find a local dentist. I loved my old dentist in the city but he retired end of '12 and after trying the new dentist/owners, decided to find someone closer to home. none of the existing yelp reviews inspired me to try any of the dentist/ cosmetic dentist listed with reviews so i decided to try the "new" guy. and i am SOOO glad i did! He is wonderful! He was able to replace my broken crown in 1 visit and it was done well. he took his time designing it to perfection, to where he didn't even have to adjust it! i was truly amazed. I also have some issues with sensitivity as i'm a grinder and we are evaluating it, but he didn't just jump into suggesting that i needed to buy a new expensive night guard (he said my current one was done very well)... If you are looking for a new dentist, look no more. Dr Kovalchuk is great. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is super sweet and has gentle hands. :) read more

Just had my third appointment with Denys today & thought a review was in order. Denys bought the practice from my former dentist Evan Disick, and the office location (and view!) are ideal for me, so I thought why not keep going to the same place? I absolutely loved Dr. Disick and was super sad to see him go. He was one of the best dentists I had ever had, so I thought no one could measure up. Well - I was of course pleasantly surprised! Although it seems like Denys has a bit of a different approach to dentistry than Dr. Disick, I really do like it! My first cleaning went great, and I even had the pleasure of getting a filling from Dr. Kovalchuk, which was no big deal. Quick and easy. If you're looking for gentle dentistry, this place is for you. I don't think I've felt pain once sitting in that chair. And I almost fell asleep looking out on the water and Mt. Tam today. read more

#1 Dentist! Dr. Kovalchuk is the BEST!!! After many years of looking for a good, skilled, honest dentist, I have finally found the one :). He has a a very comfortable office set in a scenic part of Mill Valley with views of Mount Tam. It is just off highway 101which makes it easily accessible. Getting appointments is easy and he goes out of his way to accommodate your needs. Above all, he is good at his job. He explains the procedures and presents options of treatment. I feel I can trust his advice and not worry that he is making me do unnecessary procedures. His assistant JoJo is great. Dr, Kovalchuk has me and my family as his patients for life :). I received an emergency treatment from Dr. Kovalchuk today - he saw me with one day's notice even though he was short-staffed today because one staff member was ill. Dr. Kovalchuk is a wonderful dentist, and a wonderful human being. I have been seeing him now for about six months, and he and his staff have helped me through several dental crises in a way that has left me greatly impressed with him, his office, and how they handle clients. I was seeing another dentist for more than ten years, but I am lucky that a friend told me about Dr. Kovalchuk, and the switch to Dr. Kovalchuk's office has been extremely beneficial. I have had experiences with some of the best and worst dentists due to the amount of times I have moved in the last 15 years. I found a dentist in Boulder, Colorado that was best I have ever had. I liked him so much that sometimes I would wait 15-18 months between appointments, just so that I could plan an appointment around the times I was traveling to Colorado. I am very happy I gave Kovalchuk a shot. He is very involved with his patients. He is meticulous, which makes me confident in his work. Finally, he listens to the patients and enables you to make your own decisions on actions. I highly recommend him. read more

I have a tricky mouth full of big teeth & old fillings and in my life-long quest for great dentistry, Dr. Kovalchuk is right at the top. Three dentists had either turned me away or botched a crown emergency, but with care & perseverance, Denys & Jo Jo took care of me and my tooth. Dr. Kovalchuk had great 'bedside manner' & was lovely with my children too; the administrative side is super efficient as well. After horrific experiences with dentists and their assistants recently, Dr. Kovalchuk and his assistant JoJo restored my faith in the dental world. I needed a crown, they offered to help me be able to afford to get it when my insurance wouldn't cover it without my even asking for help and the procedure was practically painless. I think I even dozed off for a minute or two because I was so comfortable. To top it off, he even called me personally the next day to make sure everything was going well. This is my second review for Dr. Denys Kovalchuk and his wonderful staff, Ashley and Kristen. Dr. Kovalchuck is a perfectionist when it comes to his patients, which is evident with each appointment I have. My case is challenging and he has taken the extra time and steps to assure the results are excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and the view of the water and Mt. Like any person I prefer a nice diner over a dentist visit. Today's experience doesn't change that but the kind and client friendly treatment from Denys made the dentist visit a good and relaxed experience. I needed a check up and cleaning and both were done with all the time i needed to get comfortable. One of my lower front teeth chipped and dr. Kovalchuck saw me the next day and did a fabulous job repairing it, I like the fact that I was able to see him right away since it was an emergency I have been looking for someone to clean my teeth for the last three years, to no avail until i got to dr, Kovalchuck's office, you have the rolls royce of hygienist , i am so happy i found her otherwise i have to go to Santa Barbara every 3 months. thank you for being there!!! read more

I recently called Dr Kovalchuk with an emergency that ended ur equipping a root canal. My timing was critical since I had to return to the hospital less than a week later for further Chimotherapy for Leukemia. Dr Kovalchuk was able to communate with hospital doctors on Monday, obtained their permission and performed the procedure after hours. This was a fantastic experience. I had not been to the dentist in a while, Dr. Kovalchuk and his staff where extremely considerate, thoughtful and explained everything in detail. I left there feeling relieved!!! I also really enjoyed the fact that they do not share an office with other DDS, has late hours to accommodate tight schedules and has a fantastic view of the bay. On a recent Saturday afternoon I had the misfortune to have a crown come loose. I wanted to get this repaired as soon as possible, thinking early in the following week. Very personable and attentive front office staff. Dr Kovalchuk is very focused on you as a patient from the moment he greets you in the chair and listens to your concerns.
