    Door/base/case

Steve and his team were incredible to work with. Great communication in all phases and the finished product was excellent. We had Denver Remodels do new baseboard and casework, new doors, drywall work, and ship lap. I'd hire these guys again in a heartbeat!

Steve did a one day job for me, replacing a very old door on a 100 year old garage. His attention to detail and quality is obvious. He rebuilt the threshold, had to cut trim at an angle to handle the door opening not being on center, communicated well, and finished in the time he said. He cleaned up and left everything looking great. Photos of the original door, the work, and the final product attached. I recommend this business highly.

We seriously cannot say enough good things about Steve and his work! He is a breath of fresh air as far as contractors go, for sure! After getting totally screwed over by another contractor who left a job incomplete, did the job poorly (we paid for an egress window, and we did NOT get an egress window) a mess in our basement, and ran off with our money, never to be heard from again, we thankfully were given a recommendation for Steve. He shows up when he says he's going to show up, communicates well, gets the job done when he says he will, cleans up his mess, and does a FANTASTIC job. He is a perfectionist and doesn't half a** anything. We will absolutely be hiring him for more projects! I am including a before and after pic. Thank you so much, Steve!

Steve and his team did a fantastic job with our bathroom remodel. It was a complete demo down to the studs, and then built up from scratch with a new lay-out. Steve and his team handled the plumbing, waterproofing, electrical, tile, flooring, and cabinetry with skill by themselves. The results are beautiful and I look forward to using my shower every day. They were professional, knowledgeable, timely, and cooperative. When we came across surprise quirks in the project, they had solutions ready. When I wanted revisions, they were very amenable to listening and making the changes. I whole-heartedly recommend Denver Remodels for your project.

    New laundry room!
 Clean, bright and efficient

Denver Remodels came in to review all the changes, repairs, and modifications we requested. A clean and clear estimate followed. When work began an entire crew came in and completed all our requests. the largest job was relocating our laundry room from second floor to basement. This part of the job was done with considerable care and attention to detail. (See picture) Once the job began the team was here every day making short work with minimum disruption. Other items included electrical, finish carpentry, ventilation and plumbing. Most importantly is the reliability and trust that we were given good advice on what solutions would look like and advised against more expensive choices. Anytime we have a general repair or remodel requirement Denver Remodels will be our first and only call.

Tile work, left the site clean

Steve did high quality work for a fair price. He is polite and honest. One of the outlets stopped working after Steve left and he came back to fix it.

Ask the Community - Denver Remodels

Good Morning Steve! Are you able to repair an iron gate at the entrance of our driveway? The gate has been bowed from a car driving into it and it would also need to be welded at the connections

I’m sorry but no. I would recommend calling a gate specialist or a welder for this. This is specialized work and a specialist will be a better fit. Thanks for asking!

I am looking for someone to repair the opening around a door. The drywall needs to be replaced and new trim installed. I can provide pictures. How do I set up a time with you?

Hi Cindy. Firstly, yes I could do that but unfortunately right now I’m not taking new clients as I am booked solid for months. That’s why my messaging is off currently. My voicemail states that I’m not taking new customers but if you just try here… Read more

Hi Steve. Are you able to hang a 92" x 50" framed piece of art over a stairwell (scaffolding required)? Thanks

Hi. Yes I can do that easily. Please follow up with additional questions via text. Thanks so much.

Hi Steve, do you consider replacing 2 shower handles and 2 cartridges "Minor plumbing"? One of the handle's screw broke off inside the cartridge. I am guessing the fixture is from the 1960's. The handles say "Speakman Kent". Thank You.

Hi and thanks for asking. I have replaced the cartridges in the past but my knowledge of them is limited. In that I have a hard time knowing what cartridges to get and what parts might fit. So I would pass on this and recommend a plumber. Take care.

Do you work on windows ? I need crank mechanism replaced.

I do not repair or work on existing windows generally. I can install new windows but don’t normally repair window mechanisms

Hi Steve, I'm wondering if you're able to re-enamel a tub? Ours is looking a little worse for the wear and needs to get cleaned up and re-enameled.

I do not re-enamel fixtures such as tubs etc. I can install new ones but cannot refinish the old ones. sorry about that!

Do you work on trex decks? Mine has become degraded and slants due to a tree pushing up the floor. I also have some plastering needed in the laundry room where the main water drain got clogged with a lemon and backed up water that damaged plaster.

A lemon?! That’s a first! Yes to all the above. Except to say that any mold found from the water leak that could potentially be dangerous, must be remediated by a certified specialist for safety reasons.

Would you do a small fence repair, two posts require replacement? We are near Cherry Creek reservoir

Yes. Normally. However we have closed the books for now due to being fully booked. (April 17th 2023) When we are able to take on more work, we will enable messaging and change our voicemail.

Are you able to replace french door hardware and door handles? I can't find what brand the door is, and it seems that they should be able to be replaced without getting all new doors. Help. Thanks,

This is a question not easily answered. That depends on the doors and if their hardware is easily accessible. There too many variables to answer this question here. For further help, please text the business number and we can go from there. Thank… Read more

Hi Steve, we are looking to build a wooden waste management unit for our 4 city supplied outdoor trash bins that meets city code and is accessible from the top and front. Is this something that you could do? Thx!

This is NOT something I can take on. Apologies.

HI Steve. Would you be able to frame and install an interior door (basement laundry room)? The current opening wouldn't fit a standard size door.

It is possible to adjust the size of a standard door slightly. Particularly the height. Harder to adjust the width. But most of the time, yes it is possible. Please text for more details.

Hi Steve do you do subfloor replacement? We have ~1200sqft of subfloor we need replaced and leveled as the current subfloor is too uneven to lay our new engineered floor.…

Hi. Thanks for the question. Yes, I do subfloor replacement. I do not however service the highlands ranch area.

Hi do you do framing services? Looking to raise existing ceiling framing. Ceiling framing is currently exposed.

Yes. We do Framing and all sorts of carpentry. Please call for further details.

Would you be interested in staining a deck at my Lakewood rental property? there are actually two decks approximately 10 x 12 and 10 x 16 ground level type decks. Power washed and stain with the same color. 1 gallon of stain did it last time.

Yes of course I’d be interested! Please text me 720.800.2925 thanks so much -Steve Beam

Can you replace plywood under a kitchen sink that was ruined from leaky garbage disposal?

9/10 times, yes. It depends on each individual case. Pictures of the situation would be required to determine that. Thanks for asking!

    Do you build sheds?

    Yes we do.

Hi Steve! We have a door upstairs that randomly won't close anymore, looks like the lock isn't lining up correctly. Is this something you can help with? Please let me know!

Hi Steve, our exterior patio door has shifted and appears the top hinge has disconnected which has impacted ability to open door. We are looking to have door taken off and hinge fixed?

Hi there. I would need to see this door but shifting of a house is very common here in Colorado and the doors are always the most affected by it. The correct fix usually, is to remove the door and trim down to the frame of the house and make frame… Read more

We need to have a microwave vented to outside of house. Is this something you would do?

Thanks for your question. Yes it is something we can most times. The difficulty of this project depends very much on where the location of the microwave is in the house. It’s much easier if it’s agains an exterior wall.

Do you install entryway stair railings? We will need one to sell our home, prob wrought iron

We do, however, we have to outsource our welding projects.

We had a really good taste of what working with Denver Handyman Services is actually like. Allow me to leave you with seven of their best attributes. 1. Matt is from New Zealand so every conversation is a fun one. You will prefer talking to him on the phone over e-mail just because of this. "I am running out to get something from Ace mate." You forget about how much money you're spending and just pretend you're in a movie or something. 2. They are not annoying to be around. We got a few quotes and honestly with a couple of the guys I could not imagine them being in my house for a month. Many were not busy enough to value your time and just wanted to chat and chat and chat. Matt and co. are pretty straight to the point. Small talk is efficient. 3. Matt said on several occasions that "anything is possible." I'm very particular esthetically and picked the most odd and difficult fixtures to work with. They were always gracious despite that having to be annoying. 4. They're really talented. Back to that "anything is possible." It's possible because these guys know their stuff. 5. Communication is on point. Like the home renovation TV shows, we were behind on the project and it went a little later than we expected. However, someone was always calling or e-mailing to make sure we knew what was going on. We always knew when someone was arriving, how long they'd be here and what to expect for the next day. 6. They are affordable. I got quotes that were much higher. It's not cheep, as it shouldn't be but I didn't feel like I'd rather spend a year on you-tube learning how to do it myself. 7. It was pretty clear that these are good people. You will tell them where you key is hidden and not worry about re-hiding it after they are done. They are talented, hardworking and want you to be happy.

Instead they added more charges later with no explanation. Also On the estimate they simply wrote "materials not included" and never discussed possible costs an then the the cost of materials was 2/3 more than the estimate for the actual work. This is completely duping customers with what their final cost will be! Customers understand there is a cost for materials, which they could include at least a rough number in the original estimate, but if material costs will be almost as much as the work they should include this in their estimate. This is a sneaky, dishonest business practice. Along with the high cost of our materials, we had to pay for every person that came to replace the previous person that did a terrible job. The first person tried to complete the job as a total amateur and ruined what they were meant to improve. Then 3 other workers tried unsuccessfully to complete the job and wasted time and materials to do a horrible, poor quality job, which then had to be corrected by consecutive workers. Finally after 6 weeks the job was completed by a single person in 2 days. Even after all these weeks and people we still have one thing that was working before they arrived and when they finished the left it completely unusable and we have to hire another company to fix what they ruined. By the end when we received the invoice we filed a complaint and they took off a nominal amount but never reconciled the horrible work, time, or inflated charged. He is my go-to for all home improvement projects. He is always on-site and hands-on with the work being done. He delivers quality work at an excellent price.

This was not a great experience. Initially, I contacted Aaron, the owner, to replace a basement…read moreshower door, after the - likely original - shower stall door started to come off its framing, before my neighborhood handyman (who charges less than half of Aaron's day rate) fixed it. I regret that I didn't simply leave the situation there, keep my old shower stall door/frame kit, and save $1K. However, at the time (June 2024), I had high hopes that Aaron could become my general contractor, for me to eventually hire to renovate my kitchen & bathrooms upstairs. So I hired him to test him, with 5 specific projects: 1) Basement Shower Stall Door/Frame: - Given I was a new homeowner, I had no idea what I was doing, told him as much, and asked for his help. I measured the shower stall, told him some ideas of that for which I was looking, and - given he's a General Contractor, who told me he's originally from New Jersey, and was hired to renovate an entire house in Mill Valley, CA (posh NorCal) during the pandemic, I mistakenly trusted him. He told me to find shower stall kits on HomeDepot.com, have it delivered to the store, then he'd pick it up at the store in his truck, and remove my old shower stall door/frame. What he failed to do was verify the kit I sent him - before ordering - matched the measurements, after I specifically asked for his guidance/help, and he offered to help me. Then - worse yet - he was unethical, unlike my neighborhood handyman, as he never told me during the install that it was the wrong measurement / size, for that shower, installed it anyway, removed my old shower door/frame/kit, without discussing this with me, told me to get out of his way and go upstairs and "trust him," then I realized after he left that it was the wrong size. Worse yet? He removed the tile, grout, caulk, and new paint, and when I contacted him to fix it in June 2024 - before my July 2024 Breast Cancer Diagnosis, hence the delay - he never replied to come fix it. 2) Crawl Space Access Door: - Same goes for this. He told me he has a jigsaw, so he could fix the wood frame and install the door properly around it, that I'd already purchased through my HVAC contractor, only to leave the wood in piece meal around it, allowing bugs to enter my home, which was the entire point of his work. Then he sloppily sprayed fire foam around it, and it looks significantly worse than if I'd just hired my neighborhood handyman with a day rate less than half of Aaron's to do it, in the first place, who I now need to hire to fix it, including creating a wooden frame with a proper fit, flush screws, and a cement bottom, to match the wall. My handyman quoted me $187.50 for 1.5-hours for this specific project. 3) Bedroom Vent: - When my HVAC technician moved one of the vents in my primary bedroom, the base board needed to be patched, as well as the carpet. Aaron bought the wrong base board at the wrong Home Improvement shop, told me that was the only option, only for my neighborhood handyman to tell me - yet again - that Aaron was wrong/lied to me, and that my current baseboard is still replaceable with an exact match, so yet again, I need to hire my neighborhood handyman to fix Aaron's work. 4) Kitchen Calendar Wall Hook: - I know this was simple, but while he was here, I thought he could help me make this more secure, but - yet again - my neighborhood handyman had to re-do it. 5) Flag Anchor Front Porch: - Yet again this was done with the wrong hardware, that was not aesthetically pleasing, so my neighborhood handyman re-did it. Overall, it's not just the fact that Aaron's rate was near double my neighborhood handyman, it's not just the fact that he made numerous mistakes, after reassuring me I could trust him, as I told him these were test projects for bigger scale work, it's the fact of how Aaron handled the mistakes, by ignoring me, hiding the shower door mistake, and refusing to fix the mistakes, over 1-year later. Whereas, my neighborhood handyman has made mistakes before, and he owns up to them, and fixes them without any issues. We're all human. :)
