The simple project we hired them to do turned into a total disaster. The project that should have taken 3 days took 6 weeks to complete and event then was horrible quality. Then they invoiced us for more than twice the cost of the original estimate even after they "took off" some charge for delay and poor communication When we had them out to for an estimate and spoke about the jobs and it was clear that we saw there could need to be additional work added to complete the job correctly once we got started, which should have been included in the estimate. Instead they added more charges later with no explanation. Also On the estimate they simply wrote "materials not included" and never discussed possible costs an then the the cost of materials was 2/3 more than the estimate for the actual work. This is completely duping customers with what their final cost will be! Customers understand there is a cost for materials, which they could include at least a rough number in the original estimate, but if material costs will be almost as much as the work they should include this in their estimate. This is a sneaky, dishonest business practice. Along with the high cost of our materials, we had to pay for every person that came to replace the previous person that did a terrible job. The first person tried to complete the job as a total amateur and ruined what they were meant to improve. Then 3 other workers tried unsuccessfully to complete the job and wasted time and materials to do a horrible, poor quality job, which then had to be corrected by consecutive workers. Finally after 6 weeks the job was completed by a single person in 2 days. Even after all these weeks and people we still have one thing that was working before they arrived and when they finished the left it completely unusable and we have to hire another company to fix what they ruined. By the end when we received the invoice we filed a complaint and they took off a nominal amount but never reconciled the horrible work, time, or inflated charged. I had to argue with their employee because he had all the nails literally sticking out three inches! I asked him to grind them down and he said that would scrape the wood and it wouldn't look good. I used A Master's Hand for a short, simple punch list of tasks. You know, those annoying little things that pop up with homeownership. The tasks were things like fixing misaligned closet doors, replacing torn mesh on a screen door, etc. At every step of the way I felt like I was dealing with a professional company. The service man was polite and helpful and completed the work in a timely manner. After the work was complete, they called to assess my satisfaction. I am surprised by the 1 star reviews, given the nature of the industry, I think some people are predisposed to be distrustful and have unrealistic expectations. The company provides a good service and is not just some guy with a tool belt and a truck. A Master's Hand provides handyman services in a professional manner. We talked about the job and scope, assessed how long it should take; the service man showed up, did the work, the work was done well, and I paid them. To sum up the experience... Don't trust this company! Their technician shows up late, and just like their customer service people, leave messages on a work number, even though they were provided a home number. They charge too much for supply runs to a store 3.3 miles away, fail to respond to negative feedback, which they block from their site "customer testimonials" in an attempt to keep a squeaky clean image and provide outrageous quotes to keep you from finishing your home improvements (i.e. nearly $1000 to install baseboards and casing in a 10 X 10 room. Their long winded, convoluted explanations about how nothing was ever their fault may have, in their minds or poor communication with each other, evolved in to them thinking that was the case but it was not. Mo did an excellent job. I had two interior doors that needed to be replaced along with some other jobs. One interior door had to be measured and custom ordered, it was no small feet. Mo had to measure every slot and hole to match the new door with the previous one. Without his careful measurements the install would have been a disaster. He also changed out some old and failing faucets, helped fix my patio and remove some side molding. I would highly recommend A Master's Hands if you need some work done around your place. read more

Long story short, the very small amount of work we hired them for took over 3 months to "complete" and 3 of the 6 things we hired them for still aren't done correctly. After they initially "fixed" our issues (grout in the bathtub, replace one ceramic tile in entryway, install 3 transition strips from tile to carpet and rescreen our windows) I called after receiving the invoice to have them come back out and redo the work. This rescheduling took forever and then when they finally showed up to do the work it was still subpar. These weren't hard tasks so I can't imagine the quality of work they would do on a more in-depth project. read more

With so many major remodeling jobs underway along the Front Range, it is difficult to find a good handyman to take on smaller jobs. After mice managed to chew through the original drywall (!) flooring of the kitchen bump-out of our ranch home, we spent the fall and winter trapping mice under the sink and trying to block their access from the outside. Nothing we tried under the 8" high space would work, and, Not wanting to spend another season catching mice, we decided that we needed to replace the external flooring of the bump-out. After trying several other recommendations without success, I came upon Yelp reviews for A Master's Hands, and decided to contact them. Within 30 minutes of my email, Mindy called me back to discuss the problem in greater detail and, after consultation with Jim, scheduled Mo to come out to the house the same week. After careful review in a very cramped space, Mo offered the more permanent fix of a metal sheet, instead of plywood, to eliminate the potential of any future mice problems. Over the next 2.5 hours, Mo took the time to explain his approach, review and get sign off for the cost the materials, and get my okay on his work. He also noticed a particularly horrible attempt on our part to fill a 1" crack between the driveway and garage, and I readily agreed to have it removed and replaced with more appropriate materials. Mo did an outstanding job in both cases, and we have every confidence that the work he did will last a long time. I found Mo to be professional and very personable; he made certain that I reviewed the work and was happy with it before he left. Michele followed up a few days later to ensure that the work was satisfactory. I thought that the final bill was extremely reasonable, and they all were a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend A Master's Hands for handyman services, and will request Mo specifically, if he's available, the next time we have the need for help with a repair. read more
