I smoke cigars, eat a lot of Mexican food, and don't floss nearly as often as I should. My beautiful, Koala Bear wife (she's from Australia) finally said, "Enough is enough!" and scheduled me an appointment at Fossum Dental. They have great local reviews, so I figured, Okay, little bear, let's do this. I went in this past Friday after work, and from the moment I walked through the door, everyone greeted me like a VIP. That was a great start! Then came dental hygienist Katie O'Sullivan, it was love at first sight I told her she'd probably quit her job after seeing my teeth. She didn't seem intimidated in the slightest. As soon as I sat down, she knew exactly what to say to make me feel comfortable. She told me to speak up if I needed her to slow down or stop, and that we could take breaks whenever necessary. First came the X-rays, and then Katie discovered some serious tartar buildup in the back of my teeth. I was mortified! She pointed it out and basically said, "Okay, see that? I'm going to have to jackhammer that stuff out of there. BUT it's for your own good. It might hurt, so just let me know if you need me to stop and take a break." I knew I was in for an adventure. About 30 minutes later, I was practically singing Christmas songs, and it wasn't even Halloween yet! I absolutely loved Katie. I'll ask for her next time...wont let 3 years go by this time lol They also found a minor cavity, which gave me the opportunity to meet one of the Fossum dentists, Dr. Jamali. She was super nice, professional, and direct. She even admitted, "I don't floss every day myself, but it kind of looks like you need to do better" Touché, Doctor. She was absolutely right! Here's the best way I can describe the condition of my teeth: Have you ever gone months without washing your truck? You drive it through the country, the city, the beach, and maybe even a swamp before finally deciding it's time for a wash? Yeah, that was my mouth. All jokes aside, I really appreciated how welcoming, professional, and understanding everyone at Fossum Dental was. Nobody made me feel judged, even though I gave them plenty of reasons to raise an eyebrow. Katie made me comfortable, Dr. Jamali was straightforward and friendly, and the entire experience was much better than I expected. Sometimes you just need your wife to tell you to get your act together. Mine did, and I'm glad she scheduled that appointment! If you've been putting off a dental cleaning because you're embarrassed about how long it's been, take it from me: just make the appointment. The team at Fossum Dental made it easy. Once the panoramic X-ray was done I was shown to my little room where I got my bite wing x rays done. Shortly after Dr. Yue came in and checked my teeth and went over my x rays with me. Then someone came in and explained the break down of the bill for cleaning and asked for approval which I agreed and they also brought in the price breakdown for what I would be needing in terms of fillings. Once I agreed to the cleaning Dr. Yue got started with the cleaning and pretty soon I was out of there. From start to finish my appointment didn't take too long and I was really happy I found a dentist office close to home with really caring and kind staff. I returned at 8am on Wednesday to get some fillings done. I got checked in and Tyler took me back to the room where I would be then shortly after Dr. Yue came in and got started with the numbing process. After I was numbed up he got started with the fillings. I was out of there by 9:30. If you are looking for a dentist office I highly recommend Ideal Dental Aliana. Now I received a $1600 bill after already paying over $400 in office for kids cleanings and an exam.

I was in severe pain and suffering from a tooth so infected that my throat was sore and my glands were swollen. Unknown to me the infection had traveled to my sinus cavity - the doctor informed me of the infection upon examination. Dr. Fazalur Rehman met me at the door upon arrival and had his fantastic team start with X-Rays immediately. Not only did this office accept me for an emergency appointment at the end of the day, I did not arrive until 4:30pm but they stayed to perform 2 emergency extractions - we were there until well after dark - 1 tooth was extracted completely intact, the other tooth however had to be removed in peices. I was treated with care and respect. The dentist and his assistants made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. The staff are the utmost helpful and professional, not to mention personable as well. After nearly an hour, we still hadn't received a cleaning. Instead, the dentist told me I needed a deep cleaning and crowns. I explained that I'd review those options later but just wanted the standard cleaning I came for, especially since my previous dentist said crowns might be needed eventually but not anytime soon. The office manager, Andrew, then came in to review treatment plans and coverage, but the conversation felt more like a sales pitch. Despite me repeating that I only wanted a basic cleaning, he continued to push the deep cleaning and crowns, ending with, "Okay, we'll just need a signature." At that point, it felt dishonest and pushy. We left without getting a cleaning and won't be returning. Patients should be told upfront if the first appointment is only a consultation and not an actual cleaning and be allowed to decide for themselves if they want additional procedures.
