Ian reviewed the damage with me, his proposed process and the opportunity to leave the car with him for a few hours. I agreed and I was set. My white BMW X3 had an unsightly little dent in the tail gate that was about the size of a lemon. I was quoted $900 by a bodyshop that was recommended by my local mechanic - way too expensive. Ian and his assistant repaired three vehicles for us in late August of this year in Benicia: A flawless 20 year old 325i excepting two hardly noticeable (except by me) body dings, one on the roof and one near the rear fender. In both cases the irritating dings simply disappeared and in no way could I have done the fix myself. Truly art. The second was our old (but near perfect) Porsche 912E (think 911) and it's rear engine lid where someone had accidentally used the palm of their hand to close (slam) the lid closed. Just one of those things but forever that compression dent bugged me but I did not dare let anyone touch nor did I want a bondo repair so I just left it. Ian masterfully removed that one. Lastly, a brand new RAV4 Adventure with a small 4-6" compression dent with no paint damage but a dent that involved an area of the rear hatch that is factory stamped aluminum (rather than sheet metal) which is tough to deal with as it has multiple structural creases probably to add rigidity (and style?) to a light-weight aluminum rear hatch. It was a small job but technically very challenging (these hatches (and hoods) are outsourced by Toyota to an American firm that perfected a type of aluminum sheeting that is super rigid as well as lightweight) so this turned out to be a highly technical and difficult repair If done correctly. Ian was perfect. Once again, Ian went far out of his way to not only repair the hatch to perfection but he tackled a repair that I am convinced would have been completely botched by a body shop (to use bondo on this type of aluminum and attempting to match the car's paint after grinding away at perfect paint to prep (pound on) the hatch would have been a huge mistake and though that was what my insurance company first suggested - no way they fortunately saw my viewpoint and we went with Ian). It is impossible now to see any sign of the previous damage (this one was way obvious compared to the others described) plus being my wife's new baby all was now right with the world! Especially since I caused the dent with a rather large brush bar on a TJ Rubicon...my bad. Thanks, Ian! We will always use Your services as well as recommend you to our friends and family. We put in a request to yelp for dent services. Ian was the first to respond and very helpful. I stopped by after work one day to have him take a look for a more accurate quote and Ian provided a reasonable amount, especially after some other businesses eventually got back to us with their quotes. Ian was able to accommodate us quickly and it was all completed in the same day. I dropped off my car a bit after the shop opened and went to pick it up around 5pm, although it was completed before then. Upon arrival I went to look at the area of impact before finding Ian. I couldn't even tell there was a dent! It looked great! However, I noticed some paint still missing from where the point of damage was. I was hesitant to say something to Ian as I went to pay mostly due to the day I was having and not feeling heard. However, I mentioned the paint chips on the back and he was very quick to offer to fill it in. No questions asked! It was a relief to hear how much he cared about what I said. I have used Ian several times to remove annoying dents in my vehicles. Sometimes he has come to me (mobile service) and other times I have gone to his shop. Each engagement with Ian and his company has been easy, quick and fair. Last month I left my truck with Ian and an unrelated mishap occurred. (Door handle broke). Ian was quick to say, he will take care of it. As it turned out...replacing the handle was much more difficult. Ian is a rare breed worth every single 5 star rating. My husband and I recently purchased a brand new truck and before the first payment was ever made someone left a nice dent in the fender. No note, just a big dent. We wanted THE BEST paintless dent repair company and turned to Yelp to help us find THE BEST. After reading reviews we decided to call Ian with Dent Solutions. If he was half as good as his reviews, then I was sure we would be happy with the results. From our first conversation I felt like my business was important. I felt that Ian went above and beyond to juggle his schedule to fit in to my busy schedule. He was 110% honest about what he thought he might be able to do about our dent. With 24 years experience, I could tell what he told me was the honest truth and he did not pretend like he could fix anything. In fact, our dent, though just a 2" dinger likely from a side mirror, just happened to hit right where a bracket in the fender frame was. It was going to be a tough one and Ian was straight forward in telling me that he would not be able to remove it 100%. It would need to go to a full body shop for that. We did not want to do that if we didn't need to, so we asked him to do what he could. In the end he was able to remove the dent about "75%" (according to him). But I swear to you it is more like 95% and his work saved us from having to have the fender repainted on our brand new truck. To an expert maybe it is 75%, but that is because he knows exactly what he is doing, what can realistically be achieved, and takes so much pride in his work. I am sure that we will end up with more dings and dents in the future and when we do we will call Ian.
