I want to start off with a little background. A car means different thing to people. It could just be a vehicle to get to point A to B and some don't care about cosmetic appearance of the car (or even mechanically). Then there's people like me, very detail orientated and obsessed. Not only do I use my car from A to B, I also take care of it mechanically and cosmetically, and it doesn't need to be an exotic car, I like to take care of what I own. I don't clean my car or keep it for others, I do it for myself. So when I get a ding, no matter how small, the saying "once you see it, you always see it" applies. It doesn't matter how noticeable it is by others, it eats at me everyday. Most people believe that even a small dent can be $1000x to repair at a body shop. Which actually made be true, because a body shop may have to sand down the entire panel, use Bondo and repaint. This lead me to look for paintless dent removal (PDR) specialist to sculpt out the dent. The paint on a car is somewhat flexible and can be sculpted back into place with various tools that go behind the panel to massage it back to place. I used Alex on a previous incident so I decided to go with him again. I like being a return customer especially during COVID-19 and got another flawless repair by him. As I mentioned, I'm very detail obsessed with my car and the trick in looking for a PDR person (for me anyways), is finding a PDR person that is more detail obsessed than you are. I had my 1995 BMW e36 M3 with original paint worked but had 5 dents in critical body lines that gave a lot of other PDR shops some pause (or a reason to charge as much as a paint job). Backing out of the garage, I ran over the protruding metal legs of a worktable...which upended & 'speared' the front left fender of my 2023 atomic silver LC500; although the 4" gash was only visible if viewed at a certain angle, it didn't play well with me. An East Bay body shop wanted $2,500, a parts dealer out of TX wanted $1,500 for the entire front fender w/o installation or sensor calibration...until I found Alex...who coaxed, warmed, kneaded & gently prodded the dent into 95% of her original form over 3-hours...like working with plasticine...at a fraction of the body shop price. Being my first dent repair, I wasn't sure how difficult it would be, but watching him work and how carefully and cautiously he treated my car, I totally get it now.
