I had Mr Dent come by my house midday to fix a dent in my car's hood. The dent occurred through the PPF applied to the hood, so I didn't need any paint repair -- paintless dent repair would suffice. I enjoyed being able to get a quote and schedule the visit with Mr Dent all via text messages. That worked well. Mr Dent arrived at the agreed upon time and quickly set to work on my car. The dent was a small one -- fingertip-sized -- and Mr Dent was able to completely eliminate it! I'd sent him an initial photo of the damage via text for a quote (the same image attached here) and he quoted 80% improvement was likely. Well, I call the repair 100%. It's great! Of course, there's still damage to the PPF, but that's the point: it saves the paint. I'll probably replace the PPF after a few more snags and dings on the protective layer. While Mr Dent was here, he noticed another minor door ding style dent on the front, driver-side fender. It was subtle, but clearly there once you knew to look for it. He ended up fixing that one as well for no extra cost. Impressive! Overall, working with Mr Dent went smoothly, resulted in a very nice repair to my car, and didn't break the bank. I cannot recommend Mr. Dent enough. I needed a substantial dent fixed on my Lexus fender to prep it for sale. Had a very visible scratch in the clearcoat on the plastic rocker panel below my driver's side door. It was deeper than I thought and not able to be completely removed without replacing the panel, but the sanding correction did the job almost as well. Our regular PDR guy has been unavailable due to some personal issues, so we had to shop for a new guy. I sent out a service request through Yelp for some paintless dent repair and Mr. Dent came through with a quote quickly. I also received competitive quotes from some other service providers including one which was outrageously higher, accompanied with a sales pitch of why I should pay more. I get it, I'm in the service/detail business as well, I have a background with auto body and paint and it is absolutely true that you often pay for what you get. That said, our regular guy is one of the best and has been in the business longer than most and his pricing is comparable to most of these other guys quotes.. I'm not paying nearly double for a new guy that will give us the same results. Anyway.. back to Mr. Dent. Along with the competitive quote, Manny told me that he could stop by within a few hours to check it out. Upon arriving, he verified the quote and gave me a success rate of 85%... meaning 85% near perfect. For anyone who hasn't worked with PDR before.. these guys will always give you a lower rating than they expect because they have wizard eyes and the surface will almost never be 100% to their "perfect" standards. The thing that concerned me was that I've had my regular guy do PDR for us for years.. and his lowest rating was above 90%.. although I'm telling you, it was always near perfect if not impossible for most people to even see with the most critical eyes. Knowing my damage was on an aggressive body line, I accepted the perfection rating and took the quote. To my surprise, Manny started on the repair right away... just hours after first reaching out. Maybe I just got lucky. Within a few hours he was done and after inspecting the panel, I couldn't believe how perfect the repair was, particularly because he was telling me, "that's the best I can get it, it's much better now though". Are you kidding me?? I couldn't even find it anymore and only managed to snap a photo of an insanely tiny wobble after finding just the perfect reflection while kneeling down on the ground.
