We have Denny's in Canada and it's usually a decent, reliable experience. We were hungry and this location was on our way, so we stopped in. It didn't seem busy, and we were seated right away. Our server asked for our drink order and left us with menus. While we were looking things over, I overheard him apologizing to the table behind us because their order had been completely overlooked -- they were being offered a free dessert to make up for it. Moments later, he came back to us and asked what we wanted to drink...again. Not a great sign. Service continued to be slow and disorganized. We watched him re‑serve drinks to another table, only to have to redo them because they weren't what the customers ordered. It didn't inspire confidence. Our food arrived surprisingly fast, but that ended up being the only positive. I ordered a club sandwich -- usually a safe choice at any diner or truck‑stop‑style restaurant -- but apparently not here. The portion of fries was tiny, and the sandwich itself was bland. Halfway through eating, the server asked if I wanted mayo. By the time I finished the second half, I realized that yes, that's exactly what the sandwich was missing. Why is mayo not standard on a club sandwich in the U.S.? Overall, this was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Between the service issues and the underwhelming food, I won't be returning to a U.S. Denny's anytime soon. Honestly, I'd choose McDonald's over this location. read more

"Any place but Cracker Barrel," I said as we hit the road. (Their breakfasts aren't as good as they used to be.). So when we spotted a Denny's as we passed through San Antonio, we stopped. (Who knew there's a San Antonio, Florida!) The breakfast menu is extensive. Slam-this, slam-that. With all the 'slams' I didn't see what I wanted. As an afterthought the waitress produced a value menu. Two eggs easy over, two pancakes and sausage. The sausage was nothing special and the coffee was exceedingly weak. Breakfast was good enough. Dennys extends a 15% discount to AARP members. Value items excluded. (Damn!). The restaurant is located in a truck stop right by the highway. It's got a lodge-like feel. The servers are pleasant and take pride in keeping a clean facility -- to the extent that I saw them clean chair legs! (I hope they wash their hands after.) Four stars. Actually 3.5. read more

Went for lunch on a thursday, 11:45 am. Upon arriving we were informed it'd be 30 mins before we were served. Boys really wanted a grand slam! We sat down and got our drinks and orders taken within 5 mins. Fast forward an hour, and our burgers just got dropped on the grill. My boss knew another waitress and she was spying for us. Had the Philly Cheesesteak Melt, while my wife had the Grand Slam. Being from Philly, I always try the "Philly Cheesesteak". This was not a "Philly" but it was good enough. I ordered the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and ranch on the side. The hubby's choice tonight was the Bacon Avocado Burger and fries. My salad definitely tasted better than it looked. I think the ranch they have is one of the better ones I've had. I'd give my salad 4 stars. The hubby told me his burger was worthy of 2 stars. The bun tasted like it had been left out all night in an open bag. STALE!!! I would definitely get a salad from here again but not sure if the hubby will order a burger. We were on our way to st. Augustine when we stopped for breakfast. It's definitely short staff at this location. However, the individuals at this location are some hard working people! Everyone here had such a hustle about themselves and kept a smile on their face despite them being so busy. The fact that it's connected to a gas station makes it very convenient. i personally ordered the sirloin here with mashed potatoes and broccol. My father got something different and the wait time was 45 MINUTES. I understand that it is a tight amount of people working, but it was only us, and 3 other tables, none over 3 people each. It's Denny's where we came as kids and still come today . Why, because it's like childhood an old classic now . Had some amazing salted Carmel cream banana pancakes . What ? Ya ! Typical Dennys food. My deduction of one star is because of order screwed up. Daughter ordered scrambled eggs with her pancakes, got over easy, could not eat. Hubby was asked if he wanted cheese on hash browns, but did not get. Apparently server or kitchen screwed up. I'm not usually one to leave a poor review but the past two times at this Denny's have been terrible experiences. This time we went and the first three meals we tried to order they were out of full menu items. At first I was told no to substitute even though they were out of the item in question (country fried steak) but didn't want to let me get chicken fried chicken instead which is on the dinner menu. No crackers for soup no condiments for other items and all we were told is "we're out of a lot". Waitress was sent on break during meal which would be fine if backup was sent to do anything besides drop a check and act like we weren't there. The quality of the food we did order was terrible as well and most was either overcooked or cold. I definitely won't be back after this second bad experience. (First bad experience was for husbands birthday but we tried to overlook it as a one time problem) We usually go twice a month before COVID-19 but now I'm just not impressed. I was hoping it might be just issues with the supply chain due to recent events but that doesn't seem to be the case. read more

Daughter had a blowout on I 75 and we're stranded at the flying J. Came in to this Denny's while tire was repaired; and had a wonderful experience. Our meals were absolutely delicious but the highlight of our night was our server;a lovely , elegant lady named Debbie. Service was awful, from the time we walked in. No one addressed us. We asked a waitress could we sit at counter because there was space available. I have been to other Dennys and they have pretty good coffee and service has been great. This was not the case here. Although a server approached us at counter giving us a menu and we got some coffee and ice tea. The coffee tasted burned and yes the waiter got me another which tasted similar. We ordered, we waited no food came. We noticed what could be our food in pick up window which was in front of us and we could see into kitchen where they were cooking. The waiter was called to pick up what we thought was our order. The waiter told cooks that was not what we ordered and showed them ticket. The cook pushed the ticket bk towards him aggressively. It was now going on 45 min we had been in there. Never has eggs and pancakes taken that long. We said we were leaving. They charged us $7.47 for terrible coffee and a ice tea. which we left behind. For our time and TERRIBLE customer service that should of been FREE. DONT recommend anyone going to that Dennys in San Antonio FL. . So, yes, it's connected to the Flying J travel center and might be spooky for single women traveling alone late at night. But walk in, and it's really ok. There are a bunch of breakfast options in WC. However, Denny's isn't so bad. This location is deceptively nice. It has a shared location with a Flying J however, they separate the space well.
