Scrapple eggs and hash browns
Sam P.

This place is consistently good. We tend to go for breakfast but we've also eaten lunch there and so far we haven't had a bad experience.

Two 2 Eggs
Kurt K.

A old timey diner in a new strip mall. Interior was bright and decorated with golf stuff. The staff was rocking their pro football team colors. We were seated right away and our drink order taken. We both ordered the two egg breakfast. Eggs different ways but both with crispy bacon. And the bacon was awesome. Crispy and flavorful. Hash browns just crispy enough. My eggs were cooked well, hot and runny. As I have said before if the law is there for breakfast it is probably a good spot. Proven out again. Six police officers in the diner when we got there. And another six from a different department showed up as we finished. Diner is on the line between two cities. Protip: they will deep fry your bacon if they ask.

Classic BLT Sandwich

Looked up places to eat since I was in the area for an early appointment. After looking at the menu online I just knew this was the place to go. I arrived and was greeted immediately by the hostess she took my order. The BLT was ready in less than 5 minutes. This was the best BLT I've had in a long time. The bread was toasted, there was enough bacon for 2 sandwiches, lettuce was crisp and the tomato was naturally sweet. If I'm ever in this area again I will be stopping in!

Chicken and Waffles

Davenport Diner really shined during our visit. Our server Tara was a delight the entire mean, offering frequent refills and meal suggestions for our first visit. I had the chicken and waffle special. The chicken was seasoned extremely well and the waffle was fluffy. The sausage gravy was a curious choice at first but paired deliciously with the syrup. It was incredible! I also had a sampling of their scrapple. This was the best I'd had outside of the north. I'll definitely be back to sample more of this local Davenport gem.

2 Eggs (scrambled) with Hash Browns and Toast and Jelly

Thanks to Tara for making our first experience at the Davenport Diner a great one! This local diner had a cute atmosphere and good sweet tea, which is all I need to be happy! I ordered two eggs (scrambled), with hash browns and white toast as the sides. Everything was cooked well - the hash browns weren't too greasy but were REALLY well cooked. I'd love to come back and try one of the lunch selections.

Bacon, eggs, grits, English muffin

I ordered my food to go. I kept it simple. Bacon, eggs, grits and English muffin. It was a basic average American breakfast. All good quality nothing over cooked and burned. grits were the right amount of creaminess. The woman at the pick up counter was friendly.

Davenport Diner in Davenport, Florida truly delivers on classic diner vibes and delicious food! The place was packed when we arrived, and now I know why--great menu, friendly service, and flavorful dishes all around. Our server, Kathy, was wonderful--attentive, welcoming, and quick with our orders. I debated between one of their tempting breakfast options, the daily special (stuffed green peppers), or my all-time favorite, the Reuben. In the end, I went with the Reuben and it did not disappoint! The sandwich was loaded with tender corned beef, melted Swiss, tangy sauerkraut, and Russian dressing, all stacked on marble rye. It came with a fresh side of coleslaw--just perfect. We also ordered the turkey sandwich, which featured freshly carved turkey piled high on a soft club roll, branded with the diner's name. It was served with house-made chips and coleslaw, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. We'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu--this place is a gem!

Interior decor

Stopped by the Davenport Diner recently for a late breakfast. While there was a good crowd there, and for good reason, we didn't have to wait and got right to a table. Everyone, especially our waitress was super polite and the service just excellent. The interior was clean and new and the decorations on the wall just screamed Polk County. Specials were written on cards and I was ecstatic to see that they featured scrapple on this day. I had the meat omlette, hash browns and scrapple as a side. Everything was delicious and the homemade scrapple was some of the best I've had. Finally, any great southern breakfast spot needs to have great biscuits and the biscuits here are a home run. I like very strong coffee, but that is simply my preference, my son loved the coffee here and while it was good, that's my only constructive take away. Overall, just a fantastic experience at the Davenport Diner and I know this will be a regular stop every time I'm in the area. If you haven't tried this place, I highly suggest you do.

1/2 meat lovers omelette

I'm updating my review after many years. This place has become part of my family's lives and. traditions. We have been coming here since my son was a tiny baby. The staff joke that if you wanna know how old the restaurant is just look at my son. We eat here every week. My MIL brought my son once and didn't know what to get him but the staff knew exactly what he ordered. Most of the servers know my drink order without even saying it. The food is always delicious. For breakfast we love the meat, lovers omelette, and just the classic breakfast, but be sure to switch out your bread for the little pancakes as their pancakes are truly excellent. For lunch I love the chicken tenders or the chicken fried chicken. they do an excellent job with their fried chicken here. My favorite day to come is Saturday because I love the beef Mac soup. The best part of this place though is the people. We feel like part of the family here.

Corned beef hash

We had a nice breakfast. Do I plan on telling me friends they just have to try this place? No. Was it better than any other breakfast/diner? Also no. But the service was fine, he food wasn't bad, and the prices are decent, so I'd probably go back. I ordered an egg sandwich. They offered Texas toast, I requested regular toast. Those were the only 2 options. The cheese was cold, I expected it to be melted and gooey, but they just slapped a kraft single on there at the end. The eggs were cooked right. Not terrible, very edible, but not any better (maybe worse?) Than I could make at home. After my first bite of the sandwich I said to my husband that I'd rather be at Cracker Barrel. I also ordered corned beef hash. There are two types of corned beef hash. The dog food looking type, and the large chunks of potato and corned beef fresh type. I actually prefer the former, and also ask the server if they have the canned stuff or the fresh stuff, and this server couldn't answer the question. She just told me it was potatoes, onion, and corned beef. I risked it and it worked out well! Great corned beef hash. My overall feeling is: it is what it is. Which is close, affordable, clean, and quick.

This lower review is solely because of the smell of the location during our dining experience around 12:30pm today. When we walked in, we were hit with a strong chemical smell. As we sat down, I kept looking around to see if I could see someone using some kind of chemical or cleaning agent and never did. The smell persisted during our meal and I did not bring it up to the server because I thought maybe it was just my imagination because I couldn't figure it out. Turns out, as we were leaving, I noticed that first watch shares a building/wall with a nail salon. What I was smelling was the acrylic (MMA) from the salon, seeping into the restaurant. It was quite strong and I'm honestly shocked that it hasn't been brought up before already.

He explained the history of Keke's. He took our drink orders and explained the menu. I ordered the Western Omelette w/bell peppers and onions. I'm gluten free so I opted for the grits instead of bread(they do offer gf bread) and my Western omelette came out just as ordered (that is a rare thing) My friend ordered the combo with a waffle and fruit. All the food was great and large portions. Antonio was a great server! He was very friendly, check back with us if we need anything and never made us feel like he was in a hurry to get us in and out. There needs to be more servers like Antonio. He gave us great customer service! I would highly recommend this location. See you on our next stop when we are in town. Enjoy

The initial experience was greeting by the host, who took our size and had us seated to wait. Another party of 5 came in behind us, gave their name to another lady. That party was accidently seated before us and in the table that had a high chair. Kinda a bummer. Then the food: it was just ok. Nothing excellent. $76 for 4 meals felt kinda expensive for florida but... it is what it is. The oddest thing was the coffee mugs. Theyre square outside and round inside. Making the area where you drink from naturally a corner... which is awkward af to drink from. The toast came late, we were missing forks. ‍ Again, wont be back.

The tee boxes were either hard pan and dead or had a few clumps of green grass between the dead spots. The fairways were either dead with weeds everywhere or soaking wet, and it hasn't rained in days. The greens were awful - bumpy and had lots of green sand around the perimeters. If you were on the fringe you'd have to putt through sand. Every flag was leaning. Not one flag fit tightly. I paid $84 to play 18 holes. It might have been worth $40, and that's a stretch. The cart sounded like it might fall apart. The first cart we were given had a flat tire. The only redeeming factor was the GPS maps on the carts worked and the bunkers were pretty good. I won't play it again unless it's $40 during prime time like it is now (February).
