This is my second time reviewing. I have always had great experiences at First Watch at Posner Village and I want to be clear that today's experience was good in terms of service and food quality. This lower review is solely because of the smell of the location during our dining experience around 12:30pm today. When we walked in, we were hit with a strong chemical smell. As we sat down, I kept looking around to see if I could see someone using some kind of chemical or cleaning agent and never did. The smell persisted during our meal and I did not bring it up to the server because I thought maybe it was just my imagination because I couldn't figure it out. Turns out, as we were leaving, I noticed that first watch shares a building/wall with a nail salon. What I was smelling was the acrylic (MMA) from the salon, seeping into the restaurant. It was quite strong and I'm honestly shocked that it hasn't been brought up before already. read more

This place is always busy for obvious reasons. They are consistently good. Plenty of inside outside casual seating. Host is friendly and accommodating. Servers are also friendly and attentive. The menu items have the tried and true breakfast items but with a twist. They also serve lunch all day. We went with the ChickiChanga Wrap and the BLTE with Tomato Soup. Everything was delicious. I had a wonderful experience dining out for breakfast at First Watch! Their AM Superfood bowl is absolutely delicious. Under the granola and strawberries is Chia pudding. Yum! From the moment I walked in the door, the customer service was very pleasant. I got seated immediately on the patio. I was served very quickly once seated. This was bustling like most locations I've been too! They were able to accommodate our super large party of about 20 people. The food came out SUPER fast! I was debating whether I wanted the prosciutto toast or carne asada hash, ordered the hash, changed my mind 5 mins later and the waiter told me it was too late.. my food was already on the way out! So out comes the hash, and I wasn't mad at it at all. The potatoes and eggs were cooked perfectly, the pico was flavorful and just what I needed to bring a pop to the dish. I loved the cilantro and peppers too! Ironically, the carne asada was probably my least favorite part of the dish. Slightly overcooked and not the most flavorful. It just had that dry angus taste that steak can have at times. I would get it again, however I'm looking forward to catching the prosciutto toast before it leaves the menu! This is one of our absolute favorite places to go for a breakfast out. The food is good, the wait times are not usually too bad when we come (earlier before 9 - we were a party of 6 and got seated right away). The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is very family friendly. If you've got picky eaters like I do, the Belgian Waffles are a big hit - we get the adult sized full waffle and ask for it to come out plain. They will devour it before we have a chance to even eat. The server brought out my omelette and told me they thought it was too small and had already asked the kitchen to make a second one. Talk about proactive! First Watch is always a go to place when it comes to brunch! I love their options and the flavors for breakfast and lunch meals! Their vibes don't really change from location to location so you almost always know what you're going to get. This was my first time at this location and it was super busy for a Sunday afternoon. Thankfully we were seated at the bar upon arrival with their first come first serve option. Otherwise a wait for 2 was 25 minutes. Overall the experience was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs considering he was very busy. Our food was fresh and hot & tasted great. This chain has the worst menu choices and even after my wife and I chose the had to come out and apologize that they didn't have any bacon and bear in mind it's a breakfast restaurant. The potatoes had a lot of burnt pieces of onion and potatoes. The piece of whole wheat toast was the end of the loaf and very dry. Needless to say this chain of resterants is off my list of places to ever eat at again. read more

What a great experience for three very hungry patrons who just landed and Ubered to this location for a late brunch. I, of course, used Yelp to get me to the right place.. and it did not disappoint! We walked in and had only a few minutes wait. Very clean, open, airy, trendy environment. Clean bathrooms.. our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Now, on to the stars of the show... the food and the mimosas with freshly squeezed OJ (didn't know this was a standard thing, but we were in Florida, so...). My daughter loved her French toast served with a side of fresh fruit (and the good fruit.. melon, pineapple, grapes).. her sunny side up egg was fried to perfection... my hash with fried egg was OVER THE TOP YUMMY! Everything was cooked so well in terms of taste and texture.. flavors. Wow. My husband's Elevated Egg sandwich hit the spot for him with a delightfully over ease egg with bacon, avocado, Gruyere cheese, mayo, and arugula on a brioche bun. So we are giving First Watch another shot after our past bad experience at the Lake Mary location! The inside is very open and very homey feel. The host station/counter acts as a seating and also to pay for your meal; so there may be a line depending on the time you go to it! We were seated and we waited a bit for a server but when we did we went ahead and ordered drinks and food! I ordered the Barbacoa Quesadilla Benedict, and my wife ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich. Entrees: Barbacoa Quesadilla Benedict. It's exactly what it sounds like. It's a Barbacoa quesadilla with hollandaise and salsa on it, with two poached eggs, also a side of black beans. The quesadilla was great and so was the Barbacoa. It was a strange mix to put hollandaise and salsa on it but it was good. The black beans were cold so I asked that they warm them up and once I got them back it just felt like it lacked flavor. The plate wasn't very filling; maybe if they added another side on the plate it would feel more complete but I left hungry after having this plate, so just know that it's not the most filling plate. Elevated egg sandwich. An over-easy egg with bacon, Gruyère cheese, fresh smashed Avacado, Mayo and lemon dressed arugula on a brioche bun. Served with fresh seasoned potatoes. My wife enjoyed it very much she said that if she could change one thing about it she would have added another egg to the sandwich and it would have been perfect! I can't stress how helpful this is on any given weekend. So you save yourself the headache of waiting long, please use the phone app here and any other location. The food was great, per usual but I especially loved their new seasonal short rib omelet as well as their pumpkin pancakes (YUM!) Tried and true favs to consider - Kale-Tonic! You have to be in to green juice for this or you may hate it. I can't go without it because it also has a great amount of sweetness - any pancake (I guess it depends on your pallet the flavor -if you're an avocado fan, their open faced avocado bread is amazzzing with an egg on top (I'm hungry) -the açaí bowl is the best in town. Our server was very friendly and had a lovely smile but very non-existent for the most part. Everything took forever and it all came out one at a time, so weird! Hubby got his lackluster omelet, then we got the appetizer bacon and my cold hash finally came a bit later. Add to that my rock hard eggs that I ordered over easy and I was over the hype! One of our favorite breakfast spots to visit!! We often visit First Watch after dropping the kids off at school. Definitely a good way to reduce the bill for breakfast. They always greet you happily and we are usually seated right away since we visit early in the morning. However, if you visit later in the morning or on the weekends, be ready to wait. We love trying the seasonal specials and the different fresh juice drinks from their juice bar. Definitely a welcome change from the normal orange juice that you can get at every other restaurant. This morning we tried the Watermelon Wake-Up and the Carnitas Breakfast Tostadas from the seasonal specials. Loved them! The location is always very clean and welcoming. Great staff!! read more

Some people, who drive minivans and probably collect Stanley drink tankers, may like this place. It's not for me. Staff was nice. Service was good. Wait times to be seated can be terrible. Menu is dreadful under the guise of healthy offerings. This place would be Ron Swanson's worst nightmare. If you like real breakfast food, go to KeKe's, Davenport Diner or Egg City.
