Worst service ever, even from Managers. Theme in this place is.. "Hold on" or "We'll be right with you". No greeting when I walked in, or as the manager sat me down. Like I was a bother to her. Took a while to even be acknowledged by my waitress or to get my order in, all I hear is "We'll be right with you". Food was horribly greasy! Then when I went to pay, tons of waitresses standing around, but nobody was allowed to check me out. Had to wait 5 min just for the slow Manager to come up and check me out. I came in Saturday, October 13, 1030 am. I once again ordered a 55+ fit fare omelette, which was at least a 4 rating. My mistake, again was ordering a multi-9 grain pancake on the side. I got some kinda pancake. Fell flat when came out with no flax seeds. Ok, let me choose if I want this. No. When conti used I queries and comments, Flax seed comes with cinnamon and brown sugar. For me, it's okay. Not great service, but not bad. food is disgusting and well, about the same as McDonald's. -Only greasier.

Our server is Charron. It's 9:45 Sunday morning. Restaurant is 3/4 full but we got seated instantly. Food came fast. Charron kept the coffee coming. I also wish I could give it 1 and 1/2 stars. We are here for a softball tournament and wanted to go somewhere quick so the girls could eat and then go swim. Well needless to say that was not the case. The place was almost empty and there were 3 waitresses but it took at least 15 minutes just to get our drinks after we waited 15 min to order them (we only had 7 of us and only one ordered a shake the rest was basic drinks). So far the waitress was nice but I've been waiting a good 40 minutes now for food and still haven't received it. They are understaffed from the looks of it and took more than 20 minutes just to take our order. I'm not a big fan right now of this establishment but I have to say the establishment is clean. I brought my grandkids in for a night out after getting my taxes. The hostess seated the kids while I went with the little one to the bathroom. Returning to the table, I saw we had menus so we waited, and we waited, and waited. I had to call the waitress and tell her we were ready, as she looks up and acts like she didn't even see a table of 5 sitting against the wall! We order and the food was pretty good, mostly a meal I didn't have to cook. When we left, a few kids used the bathroom, one played the claw machine, and the hostess is on the other cash register while kind of looking at me as I'm keeping up with kids. I finally say, "Oh, you want me over there?", she says "Yes!"...thinking...can't she just say something? Paid my bill, mind you a $100 bill...(not in my budget ever)..and she not so much as thanks me, or looks up and says come again, hi, bye, drop dead or hit the floor! I actually said walking away... wow, I don't even get a thank you! What is wrong with our society when businesses don't seem to appreciate you spending your money in their establishment!? I have so had it with this shrugged shoulder attitude at restaurants I walk in, I made it a point to write this review the next day! I won't be stepping foot in there for a long time! I try different places every weekend for breakfast. Today it was Dennys turn to have me for breakfast. I walked in with no greeting just stares from two young women. One grabs menus and the other stares. After 10 seconds of this I said just me for breakfast. I should have left right then. I started to walk behind the hostess but there was an elderly couple leaving walking the same path towards us. I waited for the couple but the hostess maneuvered her way thru the couple. Hostess left the menu on the table and walked away. I eventually made it to the table. My waitress did not introduce herself. Waitress then asked if I was ready to order. Excuse me, how about getting me some water and ask if I want coffee. I corrected her and she went for the items. Less than 5 minutes pass by and my food was on the table. Mass produced or under a heat lamp my first thoughts. Yes I know it is Dennys but really less than 5 minutes. My coffee cup sat empty for half of my meal. I was not offered more coffee until I asked for the check. Food was not good. I went to pay my bill less than $15 dollars with tip. The screen automatically wants you to give 18%, really. I seen my waitress less than 3 minutes. I left a dollar. I will not be back. The girl at the counter, ringing me up did not talk to me other than hand me tha receipt and say thank you. The first time I went to this Denny's I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I took my son and grandson and they sat us in a corner next to what I believe was some kind of kids game. The high chair for my grandson was so close to this thing he could not move. I thought maybe they were having a bad day. Why they stuck us in this seat I don't know, the place was empty. Well tonight... I decided to order take out because I was staying at the same hotel as last time and it is across the street. To my surprise, when I called I wanted to order a steak.. THEY WERE OUT OF ALL STEAK! REALLY! I HAD TO SETTLE FOR SPAG AFTER WORKING A FULL DAY! THEN.. I ordered Lava cake for desert and if I wanted it.. We come here at least once a week if not more. We like the food, In the morning or afternoon the service is good, but the evening is a HOT MESS!!!! The Manager is a joke and they are always under staffed!!!! The waitresses that are here in the evening aren't very good, but maybe if the manager stepped up to the plate, the waitresses might be better!! Typical run of the mill Dennys. Often they are under staffed and you may get cold food because of it. Besides that I have been there many times day and night, all the waitresses have been nice and not rude. I like it for the price of the food. read more

I have to say for a "late night" option this is great. Their 2,4,6,8 menu is hard to beat. Recently went there for dinner and ordered a burger and "Brooklyn" spaghetti. Both were delicious. They have excellent nachos and quesadillas. Our waitress, Kim, was great. read more

I wish I could give 1.5 stars. I've never had a problem with rude waitstaff, but every single time it takes far far FAR too long to get our order. The last time I went in it was just myself and my daughter. We didn't receive our food until an hour after we got there. That's pretty much how it is every time we go in. The food is mediocre (certainly not worth a 1 hr wait) and the portion sizes tend to be too small. This is one of the very very last restaurants on our list and only go here as a last resort. Ordered a lumberjack as usual. It took a long time for us to get asked what we wanted to drink, not a very enjoyable wait. Once we did get our drinks, we ordered our food and waited about 10-15 minutes for our meals. The pancakes were very good overall, bacon was way too crunchy, the sausages were salty. The food was alright, probably the only outstanding part of our stay was the very nice man who held the door open for us as we left. I hope he has a better experience than us. The waitress was kind of slimy, as soon as she saw my son she gave me her whole life story, not really the appropriate place for that. I brought my food home, had to get out of there fast. Overall I'm giving this place a 3/5, they can definitely improve as of now. Truth be told though, I'm going to miss that place. I live in Peoria, took a 3 hour drive down to Rockford and felt like some Dennys. Maybe I'll come back to update this review someday. 3/5 read more
