I come here very frequently. I always ask for Denise because she always takes care of us. She is a hard worker. They just remodeled this place and it looks much better. The food is always great and amazing. I would recommend this place alway to come eat breakfast or lunch. They are also open 24 hours as well, for you late comers.

Took me 7 years to visit. Located across from Duke Raleigh hospital this used to be an upscale area. Located next to a Days Inn the area is now more diverse. The place was jumping on Friday morning at 9:30. Families laughing, seniors eating, and friends hanging out. The heat was pumping, maybe a bit too much but it was 25 out. Food was fresh, piping hot and surprisingly tasty. They probably needed another server but the hostess kept the coffee flowing. Hard to complain like other reviews. This was an great breakfast choice. When comparing to i hop Dennys wins out.

Service ain't bad, the waitress was really nice. I wish I could remember her name but she was friendly and stopped by often to make sure we were doing okay. Everyone else looked like they were dead but then again it was 11:30 pm soooo it's understandable. Food was good tho, didn't take too long to receive.

We had not been to Dennys in years and I didn't care to come back. I got the moons over myhammy, which was fine and the hash browns were good! The pancakes are nothing special and the syrup was what I remembered disgusting! Everything was just ok. Our service was great, quick, and the diner was clean, they even had a tv showing sports. Very casual, if probably go back if with others and try non breakfast items.

I had a disturbing experience at this location today! Earlier this morning when I ordered and picked up my food the service was great, I even tipped the young lady at the counter. In addition, I went in later that day to bring my food in as one of the associates told me too when I called , while I was trying to eat. The first manager made it seem like "things just happen". Yes, I understand things happen but compensate your customer and have a compassionate attitude about it. Especially, one that is NOT being rude about the situation. I ordered a Cali Club sandwich with seasoned fries and a garden salad. While eating the sandwich, I unexpectedly bit into a piece of plastic that had somehow made its way into the food while being cooked. This was not only shocking and extremely unpleasant and disgusting , but it also posed a potential health risk. (This was the tag that the turkey meat obviously came in). The first manager lied and said she couldn't print me off a receipt so she went and got the GM, Christina. The managers had a MAJOR problem with me asking for a receipt. I patiently waited for the GM to come back out (approximately 10 minutes). Apparently, I was "doing the most ", was called "girllll", and was told "the girl should have printed me off one last night , I can't give you one." (in her words), by the manager Christina. Which resulted in me calling the police because she was adamant on not printing me one for my references, although she had already printed herself one. Thankfully, I had already gotten my refund, I just wanted a simple receipt because corporate needed the order number. This incident did not have to escalate at all. I've never had this happen to me in my LIFE. New managers are needed there! Both of them were extremely rude and unpleasant to handle business with. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of compassion and professionalism.

Dennys in the south is is way better than the PNW. Had burgers and really enjoyed them. Garden salad was fresh to. It was simple, but it was fresh. And the waitress Candace and hostess were very friendly and attentive .

Tupelo Honey -- A Different Experience This Time…read more We decided to revisit Tupelo Honey during our trip through North Carolina because we had such a great experience the first time we visited. Our first visit was for breakfast/brunch, and we really enjoyed it, so this time we decided to stop in for a late lunch. We originally came looking for chicken wings, but we were told they had recently changed the menu and no longer offered them. So, we decided to try some other things. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were served over polenta with a reddish sauce drizzled around them. The tomatoes were fried nice and firm--they didn't fall apart and held their texture well. I enjoyed the appetizer. For our entrees, we tried several things: bourbon meatloaf, breakfast potatoes, fried chicken, fried okra, roasted Brussels sprouts, and grilled harvest chicken. The food portions were generous, and everything was well seasoned. However, this meal was more of a "just okay" experience for us. The bourbon meatloaf was okay, although you definitely have to be in the mood for meatloaf. The breakfast potatoes, fried okra, Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, green beans, and grilled harvest chicken were all decent but didn't really stand out. The fried chicken was very well seasoned--perhaps a little too well seasoned for my taste, as it leaned toward salty. Our drinks were good, and I still enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive, which helped make the experience pleasant. Overall, this visit didn't quite live up to our first experience. My husband was especially disappointed. That said, I wouldn't completely rule Tupelo Honey out. Sometimes a restaurant has an off day, and I'd be willing to give it another try--especially since we enjoyed our first visit so much.

The shakshouka crepe was disappointing because while it had good flavor did not have the taste of shakshouka. No rich tomato flavors, cumin, or paprika. It was overwhelmed by the veggies places in it. The sauce was too little to balance out. Unfortunately because of those reasons it tasted pretty bland. Honestly, I would have gotten something different if I knew it was not really shakshouka. Service was good and they checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good. It's located next to Village District. I was greeted immediately by a nice young man. I asked for his hot food suggestion, and of course he suggested the waffles! I usually leave a $3-$4 tip because I appreciate good service. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. There is one young man who consistently makes my coffee very well, but when other employees prepare it, the quality seems to be very inconsistent. On a previous visit, I ordered a Pumpkin Spice coffee that was unbearably bitter and overly sweet at the same time. I ended up throwing away almost $8 worth of coffee. On top of that, I was overcharged $7 for an empanada and had to bring it to their attention the following day. Unfortunately, my experience today, October 10, 2026, was just as disappointing. I ordered a coffee and a pastry, paid approximately $12, and left a tip. The coffee tasted terrible and was extremely bitter. When I politely informed the employees, instead of offering to remake it, I was told to take some sugar packets and add sugar myself. Seriously? I am paying for a properly prepared coffee, not for someone to tell me to fix a bad drink myself! I only took two sips before leaving the coffee on the table and walking out. I have no problem paying $10 or more for a good coffee, but the quality and customer service need to justify the price. Sadly, this café is no longer the place I remember and seems to have gone downhill. I will not be returning, and based on these experiences, I cannot recommend this café. There are other coffee shops that offer better coffee, friendlier customer service, a more enjoyable atmosphere, and better value for your money. Save your money and explore other coffee shops. You deserve better quality and better service!

After getting to know many of the staff over the years of frequenting there, anything to make every staff member walk out at the same time has to be big enough to leave a sour taste in your mouth. Am truly sad to see such a Raleigh staple not see the value in the community their staff created.
