I needed a hearty breakfast one morning as I was about to present in nearby Owens Community College as a guest speaker. I love eating at Denny's, so I decided to go to the nearest one in Perrysburg. I did not know it was at a truck stop, and finding it in there and driving in was a pain in the behind. But, hey I thought, maybe the food and service is good. Well, the food and service is great. Waitress was very friendly. The food was hearty and tasty. Great experience here. This Denny's needs some love, though. A number of the seats had tears in them. I stopped by the Denny's in Perrysburg for a late dinner. Even though they were close to closing, they told me they could still take my order. That's where the "hospitality" ended. While I waited, I could hear the staff whispering about me it was incredibly unprofessional and made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. To make matters worse, my burger arrived in about 15 minutes and it was a total disaster. The meat was completely raw and uncooked. Serving raw ground beef is a massive safety mistake, especially when you can hear the staff complaining about your presence. I am beyond disappointed. Between the bad attitude from the staff and the dangerous food quality, I will never be back. Save your money and go somewhere else read more

Last day here we decided to eat here. They have a new menu. No I had the Philly cheesesteak with salad instead of fries. Did look so hot but boy... did it taste good. A bit messy too. The beef was really delish. It had like pepper jack sauce with the cheese on it. Needed more mushrooms n onions tho I thought. But it had the right flavors!! The boy had his fav Burbon Burger. Also messy lol. Filling up our tummies cause gotta drive tonite till we get to Boston!! Yup back driving thru in July and stopped to eat and shower. Ate so fast didn't get a pix. When I ordered my orange juice they gave my 2 dirty cups n, I could see the there was something white on the side of the cup. The lady said "I dnt kno what to tell you". I waited an hour and 20 minutes for a classic sampler that takes all of 10 minutes to prep. They ran out of soup. So I'm out $6. They forgot the marinara sauce so I walked back for that (3rd trip). They forgot the onion rings. By the time I got back to my truck with my heping plate of fries and chicken wings everything was cold. How incredibly incompetent can you be? Went on a Friday evening which was pretty dead. I feel like Dennys doesn't get enough credit these days, but food was GREAT. I got the Cobb salad with grilled chicken- salad was fresh and chicken was perfectly cooked. I'm a ranch snob and Denny's ranch is bomb. My husband got the brisket melt and lemme tell you- foodgasmic. That thing had massive crunch till the last bite too. Every bite he took made a TV commercial crunch. Only mild complaints I had were the fries could have been cooked a few minutes longer and the entire restaurant could use a little degreasing, but since no one perfect, they get 5 stars. Yea def go there if you want to wait for 2 hours before receiving your food. What angered me the most is people that arrived after me were receiving their food. And mine still wasn't done. They had made a 2 hour mistake apparently I was starving and I usually tips above 25% they certainly weren't going to get anything. Matter of fact I ended getting up because the people that got there 30 min after I did were already done eating and here I am waiting for a double cheeseburger Has I got up and told her I'm not waiting anymore the cook in the back was like just 2 more minutes. Terrible service here! They never are open the hours they say they are open. You walk through the door and ask where you can sit. And you get a reply, "there are people ahead of you". They give you a menu and you find a seat. As you look through the menu, you hear the one waitress working that evening say to the cook, " I'm leaving at 9:30pm". Even though they have a piece of paper on the wall stating they are open till 2am on Sundays. I've eaten here on and off for last few years. I won't be coming back. I would give 10 stars if I could. I was in there for breakfast today (09/19/2023), and was purely impressed. The young lady that was my server, also was the cook, and the cashier. She explained that there was normally a cook, bit something had happened, and she was left to her own devices. However, she handled herself extremely well. She had a few guests, and was all over the restaurant, yet my food was probably the best I have had at a Denny's in a long time. Kudos to her, and kudos to Denny's for employing such a fine person. I don't review often but when I do it's because a restaurant goes above and beyond or the service was so bad that it calls for me to review them. It's extremely rare for me to walk out of a store but this is what happened. I went to order food at the cash register as I always do. I tend to get the pot roast bowl, but I tend to only get corn extra gravy, pot roast, mash potatoes and extra cheese. When they have a different meat I want to taste I tend to swap it out for the pot roast. Currently they have brisket. I have no problem paying for extras, but on this day a very crabby and curmudgeon waitress came up to serve me and to kind of little the mood I said " I'm going to mess with you a bit with my order, so I apologize ahead of time." As if I was wasting her time she rolled her eyes and huffed at me and as I began the order before even getting verification from the back by saying 'could you hold on I'll check if we can do that?' She irritatedly said "I don't think we can do that what else can I get for you?" After she said that I put down the menu and said "forget it!" I walked around from the register and asked if there was a manager on duty not for her attitude but to see if I could get them to understand what I wanted. She said "no one in management was here" I walked off trying to find out who the manager was and went back to talk with another waitress as really wanted my food. The next waitress was a bit hostel as well saying we'd have to charge you for the substitute and I said that's fine I tend pay for the extras. I understand waitresses and wait staff have a hard job dealing with immense amounts of stress from difficult customers but if I have to be a professional and treat everyone with curiosity and respect then it's not hard to show the same. Horrible. Took 10 mins to get a seat. Sat at the bar top. Server was a young woman with long braids. Who I guess was new. Had to ask for everything. Salt pepper more coffee napkins. You name it. There was a older woman who was very friendly and offered coffee every time she walked by. Another woman that was working was upset because the cook kept messing up on the food orders. Terrible service. We placed an online order and were missing several purchased items as well as our food being made wrong. After having to drive all the way back to the store, we waited another 30 minutes for them to "remake" our order. When we questioned where our order was after waiting 30 minutes, they simply denied/questioned why they would have to remake it and ultimately refused. I absolutely love coming here to eat. The past few times I've decided to eat out was here. I even drive a little out of my way to get here. The food is usually really good and cheap. The bourbon burger with seasoned fries is the absolute best. Service is excellent when it's not too busy. It does get very busy sometimes but the service doesn't suffer too bad because of it. I live pretty close to this place so we have visited it regularly. When they first opened it was okay. After about a month of opening they started going down hill fast. They are always hiring managers. The food is not very well prepared. We usually have to send something back every time we have been there. We have usually just dealt with the severe lack of service and value due to the place being so close. This theory has come to an end. My opinion is if you want to watch your food sit on the rack for 20 mins while the waiters are texting each other than you need to visit this place. read more
