We stopped at Denny's Restaurant on our way to the hotel for late lunch, early dinner. Brandie had never been before and My kids love Denny's so we thought, why not!!! The interior was your typical Denny's..nothing amazing or wowing, very typical...the service was slow and their attention span very small..but the food was good, not the best i have had but good.. Noelle opted for a salad only...she ordered the chicken spinach salad..that is exactly what she got..nothing else but some spinach leaves with some chicken dropped on top..and they forgot her bread... Brandie ordered the Meatball Sub (it had hardly any sauce on it..) and she opted for the cheesey bacon fries...they just sprinkled some shredded cheese on top, and threw on some bacon....what?????? is someone in a hurry in there?? remember I told you earlier our service was SLOW.... My son Joshua got the Buffalo Chicken sandwich with fries...it was hot chicken only with a slice of cheese, nothing else...good thing he didn't want the $3.50 extra cheese and bacon on his...lol !!!! and well opted for BBQ Chicken Soft Tacos...ugh...horrible..I would never get these again...nasty.. Spending the weekend in Orlando attending meetings, I stopped into this International Drive location of Denny's despite some of the negative reviews. By myself, I sat at the counter and was served by Shawna S. A Crazy Spicy Skillet, ice water and BOLD coffee for my breakfast order. Cream and sugar on the side. Polite and friendly service - sitting at the counter does have privileges as Shawna returned quite often making inquiry whether I wanted more coffee or water. Speaking of coffee - always order the BOLD at Denny's as more often than not, they will make a fresh pot. Food was sizzling and "skillet" hot. Restrooms and restaurant were clean. Being a native New York I have never heard of Denny's until now. To me Denny's is somewhat similar to International House of Pancakes (IHOP) but located in the South, Midwest and Southeast. International Drive intrigued me with the numerous shops and restaurants as food and shopping always interest me--forget men! When waiting for a table for two, my former love got a nickel to land on the platform in the water jug, and won a free soft drink for our meal. I didn't plan on staying to eat. I was just gonna use them for the restroom, then leave. But as I was approaching the door, a gentleman greeted me with an awesome, energetic disposition. So I decided that I'd stay for the coffee. Then he asked me if there was anything that I wanted to order from the menu. His mannerism and explanation of what I inquired about was worthy of me dining in. Needless to say, I enjoyed my salmon with baked potato, and vegetable medley. As well as my fresh brewed coffee. Even the cook came out to check on me. And this is at 3 something a.m. I would like to say thank you to my server Erroll for treating me like a queen. Service here was terrible. Waited 15 min to order and more than 45 min to receive our food. People in her seating area had to get up themselves to get utensils. Their food was not brought out together. People sat down after us and received their food way before us. It took her 40 min to refill our coffee. Terrible terrible service. I have been to this Denny's three times in four days, while visiting from out of town. The main reason is a server named "Lori." Honestly, she is one of the top three servers I've ever had at restaurants! From the moment she seats you, you feel welcomed and comfortable. Lori is kind, attentive and loves her job. She makes your visit to this Denny's so nice and relaxing. The food is cooked well and Lori has a smile on her face as she keeps your coffee cup refilled. She even remembers your order! Amazing!! Go to this Denny's and ask to sit in Lori's section- you'll be glad you did! BTW- I believe she works the morning shift, as all three visits have been for breakfast. read more

We stopped at this Denny's before heading to the airport to head back home from Vacation, boy was it disappointing!!! Stoped in here before we arrive at the hotel (which ended up being right next door) for a wedding we were in town for. Driving up from PSL on an empty stomach we need up being hungry enough to want to eat a small child . We pulled into the first restaurant we saw. We were quickly greeted and served fresh hot coffee. We both went with the grand slam, blue berry pancakes, crispy bacon, eggs over medium, hash, and sausage. The food was out within 5 minutes of placing our order, he quickly refreshed our coffee and waters, and we were our the door about 15 minutes after that. Our server was great. This has to be the best Denny's in the country. Should be the Denny's training center. It is located across I-Drive from the Orlando Convention Center. There can be a line when you arrive, but they know how to move the line and get people seated. They serve Hot fresh food the way it was intended to be served with the condiments that come with them. Was told it would take 10 minutes .... another customer came in maybe 5 minutes after me ordered a steak after 25 minutes the customer whom ordered their steak complained and got their food ! Denny's. It's a desperation meal, every time, but it has its purpose. You're on the road (or just come off it) and need something greasy, quickly, before the traffic you just outran can catch up or your family implodes like a vacuum of hunger. This particular Denny's was perfectly fine, apart from the long wait for our food and not-as-frequent-as-you-might-want visits from the waiter. Typically for Denny's, my burger was pre-cooked and therefore not as hot as I'd like, but the omelettes and mac-and-cheese ordered by others in our party were fine. Holy Moly. This must be the slowest, most inefficient Denny's I've ever been to. They are extremely short-staffed and the wait for water, coffee and food took over an hour.. Our whole group had to leave before the coffee even arrived at the table. There doesn't seem to be a proper management system in place as the servers were all over the place and kitchen staff must be in need of assistance because there were many other tables with disgruntled looking customers waiting for ANY form of service. We ended up picking up our food to takeout and the food was mediocre as expected. My pancakes were soggy and the eggs tasted like they were reheated. Five star service, but the food is mediocre. Coffee was not that good and scrambled eggs tasted like they might be powdered. I would choose over easy eggs in the future. Wheat pancakes were surprisingly very good. I'm not sure if the syrup was pure maple, but I'm pretty certain it is a corn syrup mixture. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the waitresses are excellent and very friendly. Dinner with some friends, who all trickled in. I got some kind of buffalo chicken sandwich. It was ok. Had to flag down our server a few times just to get my first glass of water, even after she brought my friend a refill on their drink. I'm not a big fan of Denny's in general, but this one had so-so service. At least we could split our bill up at the counter. 2 stars sums it up: Meh. I've experienced better. Called in an order for a pick up. By the time I rolled in 20 minutes later my order was all ready for me. The place was empty so that may be an explanation. My order was correct and check out was instant. I had an order of the $4 everyday slam and the Avocado Chicken ceaser salad. The salad was nothing special and was about $10. I should have went with a cheaper menu item but I didn't want to be weighed down with some breakfast items before bed. Any other time I would be ok with that, just not tonight. Could I have had some different and better tasting food? Probably. But all I wanted to do after coming back from Tampa Bay was grab food, head into my hotel room and have a shower. Waiting and making meal decisions just wasn't in it for the night. I'm glad this Denny's helped me make it home faster. read more

My wife and I are on vacation. Yesterday we visited this restaurant. Yesterday, our we had good service, good food, and the staff was pleasant. Which is why we returned today. But after our experience today we will NEVER go back. My wife is attending the Zumba convention. Since Denny's is right across the street, we chose to visit here again today. We arrived at 1:20. And that is where the trouble began. We (along with about 15 other people behind us) waited there for 5 minutes before a the Manager finally appeared to offer seating options. She began writing our names and party numbers down on a list instead of seating people. I wouldn't complain about this, except for the fact that there were 19 empty (clean) tables in the dinning room (I counted). After an additional 5 minutes of waiting (we were first on the list. It took 5 minutes from the time she wrote our name down to the time she called us), she called our names and sat us. The waitress took our order. I told the waitress we were in a hurry because my wife had to get to her next class. Yesterday, we got our food within 10 minutes of placing the order (same time of day as today). Today, we waited nearly 45 minutes. To review, we arrived at 1:20. Waited for 10 minutes to be seated in a half-full dinning room. We had our order taken within 5 minutes of sitting down. At 2:21, we finally received our food. The waitress appologized and said the kitchen blamed the wait on having to cook the chicken. Well that's just bull crap because it does not take 45 minutes to cook chicken. My wife ordered a Grilled chicken salad and I got the Pot Roast. Pot Roast. A dish that require them to scoop mash potatoes on a plate and put meat on top of it it. My pot roast was cold because it had been sitting in the window for 20 minutes, waiting for the chicken to get done cooking. So I asked the waitress to send it back to get a fresh order. 15 minutes later, I finally got the replacement. It was hot but there was a miniscule scoop of mashed potatoes covered in a bowl full of gravy. With only about 2 forks full of actual Pot roast. No carrots or celery as the menu described. When the waitress came back to check on us, she asked, "Is everything okay?" I said, "No. But we don't have time to get it fixed. We've already been here for over an hour and we need to go." Then I explained the problems to her. When I went to pay, I explained my problems to the manager. She offered a 20% discount but said that was all she could do for me. All of this with a, "I don't care" look all over her face. Complete Bull Crap! After waiting an hour for cold food in a half empty restaurant, then getting what was not even half a normal portion size, she offers me 20 freakin' % off?!? I will never come here again. This lunch trip should have lasted no more than 35 minutes and we were there for an hour and a 1/2 (1:20pm to 2:50pm). read more

Just a bad experience. We're easy-going and I don't normally say anything. We sat there for 10 minutes before a very slow walking individual came and asked if we wanted coffee. Coffee finally came. We then ordered. Food took probably 20 minutes to come to the table and it was cold. I have never seen bacon strips or sausage links so small. Take a regular piece of bacon, cut it in half, then shave a quarter of an inch off the side. That's the bacon. The sausage links were the size of a plump cigarette. Toast came early and breakfast came eight minutes after that. White toast, dry with margarine pored over it. Don't forget, the food was not hot! Then we waited for a coffee refill and could not make eye contact with our slow moving server. Just a bad experience at this Denny's. It's a reflection on the management. Plus they won't let you pay at the table because I don't think the servers are capable of using the debit machine so they have it so you pay on the way out. We will not visit this Denny's again.
