The food service is terrible. After waiting to be seated in a half filled restaurant. We had to wait till the manager noticed that we hadn't been served to get us our drinks. After that we waited forever our waiter who was no where to be seen we finally got our order. Then we finally got our skillets, which were barely warm and she left without giving us utensils. Then she started to serve the other table and I tried to get her attention but she just glared at me and said "I deal with you guys later." She eventually came to our table and I, after staring at my food with nothing to eat it with, told her we didn't have utensils. She said "shit" walked to another table and got us utensils from there. After we finished she was again nowhere to be seen so we had to run down someone else to get our check to leave. The service was so bad it was almost comical and the only reason we stayed was because we had just finished hiking and were very hungry. What was supposed to be a quick stop took over an hour. If you have a choice DO NOT eat here. read more

Apparently they are understaffed, undertrained, and lack common sense. First they took our drink order. A few minutes after seating us and quickly returned with our drinks. Our waitress accidentally slams the glass of water down on the table and then drops the straws off. She never comes by to wipe up the water or give me napkins to clean up the puddle she created. 50+ minutes later we are still waiting for our food. Food came after an hour. Only come here if you want to waste an hour for denny's. read more

This place was probably the worst Denny's I've ever been to. The service was awful. And the food was disgusting. I ordered a club that had one slice of turkey and bacon and just lettuce in the other part of the club. I will not be wasting my money here anymore on terrible food, I recommend the same for anyone else. read more

The employee that served us forgot many things to our order. The utensils were very dirty so was the table. Overall do not recommend going there. read more

Had the grand slam for $4 and loved it! When dining at Denny's one wants consistency across all restaurants. This Denny's is true to the brand and as always a good value. read more

Been going to Denny's restaurants all over the western US. Some good, some bad. Right now this one falls into the latter category. Service was mediocre and food preparation was substandard. The wait staff needs more enthusiasm and knowledge of what's in the restaurant. We asked for a little bowl for the baby's cereal, they did not know if they had one, said they were short of dishes. They did find a small bowl. I ordered a Baja Cesadilla burger. First, it came out in a BOWL instead of a plate. Second, the tortilla was cold, it's supposed to be grilled a little crisp. They did remake the burger, it was marginally better. I will try this restaurant one more time in a couple of months. Both the wait staff and kitchen NEED to be trained better. The waitresses must realize that they are the last quality control before the customer sees the food. BTW, I sent this review to Denny's Headquarters, verbatum read more

The food was decent, but we had to wait 45 minutes to be served (family of 4). Other people came in after us and got their food before us. They also failed to cook our eggs, we asked for over medium and the eggs came apart as we cut them, and were barely hot. Overall a pretty horrible experience, not coming here again. read more

We did an online order for pick up. Burgers, sandwhiches and fries were great! They forgot our milkshakes but food was so good it was ok.

This place is a hit or a miss. Sometimes we come here and receive good service and good food. Other times, not so much. It's okay if you just want something easy without doing fast food. read more

I wish I could tell you everything wrong with this place but I simply don't have the energy to do it. I would definitely avoid this place at all costs. The service is horrendous. If you feel like getting into a Texas chain saw masacre type of vibe, this is your place. Food was also terrible. Very dirty... just terrible. 0/5 stars read more

Do not order a skillet plate as it will be served cold. Everything lacked flavor and the employees are as unsanitary as could be. Equipment is outdated and barely in working order. I know it is not the employees fault as this establishment seems to have been forgotten by corporate management. Be aware and eat local if you can read more

The problem with this location is staffing. Just expect there to be only one waitress working, pro tip: be nice! It'll go a long way and I guarantee you'll have a better experience than the reviews say read more

Today we had a horrible experience there this late morning 10/17/16. First we had to wait and wait to be seated with many seats available by a too busy host that could have said "sit where you like" but didn't and made us wait longer. After several minutes Finally! We get seated. The server "Leslie" proceeds to give us great service all the way around! No issues there. Food was good, but honestly expensive considering all. BUT! We get our check and then try to pay? Once again, more waiting...and waiting and waiting. Many employees saw we were standing there and did nothing what-so-ever to help us! We finally stated out loud we need to go here guys, this isn't right! And a hostess with dark long hair in her 50s maybe suddenly appears! She went out of her way being rude by saying, and we quote: No! You don't have a complaint! We waited over five minutes to be helped! Gimme us a break!! Bottom line is this: They need more employees to fill their need who have GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not rude hostesses that are totally rude. We are done with Denny's Oakhurst. read more

RACIST WAITRESSES !! -10 Stars. NEEDS TO BE CLOSED. If you're Hispanic or colored at all expect to wait at least an hour while you watch the white couple That came 20min after you get seated in a huge table while your family has 5 people and is smashed into the smallest booth ever. THEN, when getting your order taken or get your food FINALLY, your food is burnt, greasy, and disgusting . I've read at least 30 reviews before writing this one and that sums it up. ------------------------------ Very Prejudice Hostess/waitress By far the absolute worst experience ever. Living in 2019 you'd think that mentality would be far gone? Nope. Not according to this waitresses. This waitress is a white women, Jet black box dyed hair, several tattoos on arms, gapped teeth, meth looking Face, probably in 40's and about 5'7 total hick . We waited 15 minutes to even be greeted and That would've been longer had my sister not walked back to the kitchen to find someone. After she did, she rudley got told to "step back and get out of the kitchen". We brushed it off... Next we see the Seating area. 1 Huge table unoccupied to sit about 6 people comfortably. And all the other huge tables that are for 6 people were occupied W/ white people in groups of 2. We asked to be seated in the big tables since we could barley fit, let alone have room for our plates. We decided to ask the bus boy if we could move since our waitress walked away, he gladly did so and cleaned the table and it waitress comes and blocks the table as we're about to sit and says they're for party of "6 people or more " I point of there's 2 people at every large table ? And she says "They're waiting on more people to come " when Indeed they were not, When she seated them first the women said it was only her and her husband dining. Anyways, we brushed it off again. Maybe she's having a bad day ? Then we ask her fine, if we sit in the little tables we want 2 tables and we'll split up our party of 5 people and to just all make it on ONE tab. For some reason her brain could not comprehend such an equation . Somehow , if 2 people sit at a separate table it changes the axis of the world. She refused and complained that were taking up too much space and she can't put our orders on the same tab since were at different tables??? First, She wanted us seated Excluded and Smushed into a tiny 5x4 foot table for 5 People !! Then , She can't Even give us another table and put our order on the same tab because we're at tables RIGHT NEXT TO EACH-OTHER and not at the same table. At this point, My sister just went off and the waitress cussed back at her with a dining room FULL OF CUSTOMERS and continued to until we left. Extremely unprofessional . I would like to report my incident to Upper management because the manager Lorenzo did not do anything about it, especially didn't fire her for being prejudice and horrible at her fucking job. It's DENNYS C'mon. Denny's SERIOUSLY instead of replying to the Hundreds of 1 star reviews saying how you're so sorry for the bad experience and you're doing something about it on a "store level" or Whatever use the time to actually send representatives, an auditor, and the health department to this location. You are seriously ruining your reputation . I'll be writing corporate and printing these reviews to show how Much you're actually fixing the problem because I've seen these 1star racist, terrible service reviews dated back to 2014. read more

This restaurant "if you'd call it that" doesn't deserve a rating. It is less than the minimum 1 star. I gave this place several chances after it opened. Finally let my husband talk me into going because our regular hangout is closed for several weeks due to vacation and annual cleaning/repairs. Well my expectations were as expected, it still "sucks". Owners don't care, servers aren't. You'd think with a "cookie cutter" establishment, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to run a business. I won't be back. read more

Stay away!!! They don't care about you're safety. I should have checked the previous reviews first. After trekking around Yosemite, all I wanted was a good meal and some rest. We were staying in Oakhurst so we had limited choices. My family decided to go to a familiar place so we went to Dennys. 1. It took a while to be seated eventhough there were plenty of empty tables. 2. The workers were apparently understaffed and cut hours so they didnt expect the influx of customers when we came 3. The menu prices were blacked out because they were changing prices and its ok since the waitresses knew the prices. That should have been a red flag. 4. My son ordered a strawberry shake. It came with something a little extra, at the bottom of the shake was a plastic cover that was mixed in the shake. I asked the manager what he thougth about it and what he would do if it happened to his own kid, but he replied that he doesn't know. He came back with the plastic lid to show that most of it was still intact and that they wouldn't charge me for the shake. No one even asked how my son was. I guess thats how they train managers in Dennys now. No concern for the customers safety. I'll observe my son if he shows any signs..... read more

Came in at eight o'clock on a Monday morning to find one woman working as both host and server. We got our drinks rather quick and the woman was nice, but it quickly went downhill from there. A few more servers came in, but they meandered about and were slow to help anyone or bus any tables while the one woman ran around. Our order of loaded tots was punched in wrong and came out plain. In the back was one cook, and thirty minutes into our wait as a party of three, the manager finally stepped on the line to help cook. Our skillet sat on the line for fifteen minutes while our omelet and French toast slam took another ten minutes to come up. Despite it not actually being busy in the morning, four tickets were behind on the line. Just when we were about to just pay for the tots and leave, the server assured us the food was done. The French toast slam came out without the hash browns he had requested and the toast was overdone on the outside while the inside was underdone. The skillet potatoes were swimming in grease and overcooked and the scrambled eggs were brown. The seasonal fruit cup for 3.50 had brown apple slices, a couple pieces of melon, and grapes in June. The only thing that came out mildly good was the omelet. It took us 45 minutes to get the food and only 5-10 for us to turn the food over and just pay with cash and leave. Despite its outer appearance, this was the worst Denny's I had ever been to. We should have turned away when there were notes on the front door saying the A/C was out, and written on the back of that was a previous message listing a long list of grocery items they were out of sometime(hash browns, vanilla ice cream, no skillets, etc). Absolutely ridiculous. I wish I had checked this place on Yelp beforehand, but we usually get such good service in Oakhurst. read more

Denny's - Swimming in grease and overcooked. - Diners Near Me - Oakhurst, California

I understand that it's Christmas and they got more people coming in than they expected, but waiting over an hour the be seated is ridiculous especially when we were told only 25 min wait. All the employees were over worked and under appreciated. The waitress was pleasant and as prompt as she could be being pulled in ten different directions. read more

This place is a shambles, we went for a late lunch one day and the food was ok (but not great) and the service was slow. We tried to go for a late dinner the next day and after waiting 30mins to be seated we gave up. Staff were obviously over-worked and flustered, dirty empty tables stacked with dishes everywhere and a huge queue of people waiting to be seated with very little contact from staff about what was happening. I would not recommend this place at all. Unfortunately there are not many options open after 9pm in Oakhurst, however the supermarket Raley's is open til 11 and has a good range of pre-made salads, pastas etc. go there instead!! read more

My friend and I had an expedient and pleasant experience. It took them about 5 minutes to get our food and the staff was really friendly! It had a pleasant and clean atmosphere. This is not only the worst Denny's I have ever been to, this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. It took 15 minutes for us to get seated in an EMPTY restaurant. There were flies all over the food, and the food itself was outright disgusting. Eggs overcooked, fruit dish was decrepit. It was a miserable, depressing environment. I understand that you might be really hungry and in need of food after leaving Yosemite late at night, but do not go here. You'd be better off eating a pile of dirt from Yosemite. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

Worst Denny's I ever been too , went to Yosemite on June 7th and stopped to get breakfast , the silverware was dirty I had to get up and get different silverware 5 times ! If this place could get 0 stars, I would give that. The moment our group of 6 stepped in, there were many empty tables but yet, the hostess decided to just look at us from afar, talk to the other waitresses, make us wait longer than expected with all these empty tables, then proceed to seat us at the smaller table when we had a large open table next to us. The waitresses continued to just talk to each other rather than pay any attention to us, then when we were finally ready to order, we asked another waitress to get ours which she replied that she would be over soon, and then our waitress just stared at us by the kitchen while talking with her other coworkers. Literally the worst service right when we walked in the doors. read more

Plenty of staff, nobody in the restaurant...on Saturday morning....but super slow service. Eggs were undercooked.

I rate this Denny's a minus 5.... This was the WORST Denny's I've ever been too... so understaffed. Hostess had to take our order. Several people got up and left...should of realized at that point I would be in the same situation very soon. It's a Tuesday morning....OMG!! Waited 40 mins for our breakfast, only to have raw egg omletes and a plate full if what looked like be melted butter or oil..i hope They were out of every kind of bread but white...... We only came to this Denny's because it was literally steps away from our hotel. It took an hour in a half to get one burger, two sandwiches and a salad. Not only that but they charged another person for our order and then told us that we couldn't get our food until we paid for our order and this was after over an hour of waiting for our food. They had two female staff members one of which was the manager who were just wasting their time talking to each other about who knows what. The manager which we saw pass by about twice looked like she was in the worst mood. She kept rolling her eyes however when she was with the other staff member they were both giggling. It did look like there was only one cook when we decided to go see what was going on with our food. The only good thing was the waitress. I felt so bad for her as everyone seemed to be blaming her. She brought us side salads while we waited for our food and brought my son goldfish snacks and a novelty cup which I'm sure came out of her paycheck. The manager was by the door on the way out and she didn't even acknowledge us. I feel bad for the waitress who probably doesn't get good tips due to the bad management here. read more

My Fiancé and I decided on going to this Denny's despite the bad reviews... And let me say, those are 20 minutes of our lives we will never get back. We were sat immediately and then sat at the table for 20 minutes without even being acknowledged; no drink order, no waters, no nothing. We ended leaving and walking over to China Delight... Which was definitely a smart decision. Don't make our mistake... Listen to these reviews as they are accurate. Terrible service! read more

I stopped by for a quick bite today just before 5pm. I ordered a double serving of hash browns and bacon for the build your own slam.
