I wish I could give zero stars to this place. This was my worst restaurant experience ever. Never ever in my life, walked into a restaurant, waited for one hour, and walked out with no food. My husband got his food first, small pancakes with 2 tiny pieces of bacon, really sad to look at. I waited patiently for another 20 mins, our waiter came by and told me my food is almost ready, waited for another 20 mins, flagged down the waiter, he went into the kitchen, brought out "my" food, it was a wrong order. At that moment, I have had enough and asked to talk to the manager. He came over and apologized, and that was it, no discount, no compensation. So, after one hour, my husband walked out of this place still hungry, I walked out of this place with no food. We ended up at another restaurant. read more

My kids ordered their sides and they didn't have either choices available. The kids ordered something else. 15 minutes after taking our ordered the waitress comes back out to tell us they don't have any mac n cheese. So our kids had to make another choice on what to eat. The lady up front was nice. I got a to go order though and it took a very long time. 2 breakfast meals should not haven taken 30 minutes to be received. Ridiculous. Other than our server, Jeremiah, nothing to rave about here. Long wait to be seated, long wait to get our food which was haphazardly plated. The server was taking heat from other tables who were upset but he stayed professional and courtious. Wow where to start! Well first of all the food was okay but the staff? They make the place look bad! First it took them 15 min to even acknowledge that we were waiting to be seated and it was weird because as soon as an older couple comes in they get seated before us!! Then they took 20+ min to take our order..I was already angry about that but the most sad part was when I went to the restroom and I walked by the people that came in after us were almost done eating! The cashier made a mistake & did not apply the 15% discount. Per cashier & server, that there's not any Denny's that has the capability to reverse the transaction. How can that be? It means that if the cashier made a mistake on the charges, that customer has to bear the mistake. Where is the right of the customer getting overcharged & no way for Denny's to correct the charge because the system is set up that way. I guess, they assume that the cashier will never make a mistake in the charges & doesn't have a need to be able to reverse incorrect transaction to process the correct charges. Overall experience in Denny's is bad. No manager to talk to & employees cannot decide to help customers on their concern. read more

Forks, Spoons, and knives were not cleaned properly! Girl made us wait longer because she lost that damn waiting list! Sat other people down first that had came after me. They had ran out of Oreos for my shake. Workers are completely rude! My sister got a hair in her salad. And my mom found a hair from a brush in her salad. Denny's should be consistent quality. Should be. Very confusing for a customer come in...theres a sign to check in with hostess, but no hostess...they yelled at another family for trying to seat themselves...We waited 35 minutes for our food to arrive, waitress came by once. There were only 6 other tables occupied. Bacon burger was minus the bacon, chicken sandwich had chicken on only half the bread. Steak and eggs were ordered with eggs poached, only because offered, but don't think the cook knew what poached was. The menu had all the prices blacked out, and not rewritten. overall disappointed with first Denny's in a while...i Hope it is just this location in tourist area and not the chain itself that stopped caring. read more

I can certainly see why there is a two star rating. The wait staff is amazing working with limited personal all so management can save a dollar. The food is denny' s diner stereotypical and what you expect what separates this establishment is the management. Personally, I will come back for the extremely friendly wait staff and would recommend that management learn leadership. An example of such leadership would be not make patrons wait on drinks, a manager could certainly fill this gap. read more

Went and ate here last week and had amazing service by Melinda or Miranda...I can't remember her name but the best service I've ever received at a Denny's. My coffee was always hot and full. The service by my waitress was AMAZING!! I'm going to ask for her every time from now on! Way to bring that down home country diner experience back to my beloved little town. read more

The thing I'm looking for in a chain restaurant is consistency. This includes service. The service was beyond slow, indifferent, and borders rude. The food after a 45 min wait was typical Denny's and not bad but not worth the wait. The place is under staffed or the management is just plain lazy. Have waited in line for over 50mins. Did not get any services within an hour. I understand as this is Christmas holiday, there will be staff shortage problem for them. Absolutely terrible service. The staff are rude and sassy to us. We waited about an hour for our food after asking for a follow up 3 times.

I stopped in on 11-8-16 at 3:51 pm. I first sat down in a small booth by kitchen booth area; the two kitchen staff were out front talking so loud I had to move. The waiter was prompt and I ordered a cheeseburger and fries (one of Dennys hidden gems). The burger came quickly; the lettuce, pickles, tomato and onions where under the burger on the bottom half of the bun. It was covered with grease, I mean it was drenched. Stayed near by this Denny's while visiting Yosemite park. Ate here two separate times once in the evening once for breakfast. Each time we were sadly disappointed. We first visited around 8pm on a Wednesday. The guy whom I assume was a manager was running around like he didn't know what was going on shirt untucked looked like a mess. I heard him tell another table who had complained of there soup being cold. He said, well we stop serving it at ten so the chef probably scooped from the bottom what was gonna be thrown away....I could not believe he said that!!! Bad Denny's is bad. Extremely slow service. Not even busy and it took well over 30 minutes from lobby to being served for only 2 people. They somehow had no milk?? And then a forgotten beverage. Freanch toast and hash browns burnt, toast seemed more stale than toasted. Other items, eggs and meats, tolerable. Just don't bother giving them a chance... Or another chance. Been here twice. So far, quick friendly service, but the food isn't very good. Nothing tastes fresh. My chicken sandwich was a previously frozen breast, I'm sure. Fries are ok. The second time, I ordered cheese fries that were a pure abomination. Fries in a bowl with melted cheese, but it was smothered in some kind of canned white sauce that smelled like bacon. I ate a few of the fries on the top, but the rest were swimming in the nasty sauce. My husband did like his sirloin steak with broccoli, mashed potatoes and garlic bread. The garlic bread was very good. A well oiled, crunchy triangle of toasted panini. The potatoes were definitely instant. My husband likes bland, boring American food which is why he likes Denny's. Don't stop at this one!!! Staff was too busy to tend to customers.. Stood at the front counter for 12 min, not one word from the staff, not even " I will be right with you" poor poor customer service. Corporate Denny's stop by and kick these people into gear... Okay service, but unfortunately every time I seem to go into this place they forget something or my entire meal or my whole families food comes to the table cold like it's been sitting back on the service table for 20 minutes. Not sure why this business is like this maybe they need to change the management? Had to update my review and kick it up a couple stars. The crew that was here the last time no longer works here. Everything on my plate was cooked as ordered and tasty. If they keep it up, it'll be a turning point for this 24 hour eatery. The coffee was hot and tasted good. Had a selection of creamers to add to it which was nice. The staff was cool and the classic rock coming from the kitchen made the time spent worthwhile. This may be my go to again when insomnia kicks in. Things had been going well here until the past week. One of the meals I ordered the hash browns were chewy. Not sure how they got em that way, but they were bad. The waitress offered to get me more but I was through eating. She still brought out the order and I took them to go. They were much better than the first set. Now, about the waitress. When I arrived this morning, she was outside smoking a cigarette. As I walked by she got up and instead of using the can next to her flicked the butt out on the street. I opened the door for her and she asked if I would like to anything to drink and to sit anywhere. I wanted an OJ which she proceeded to pour. I asked her if it was a law to wash her hands after smoking and before handling my food. She says," oh I can wash them for you if you want". I want. The wait staff was fantastic. They are fast and efficent. In my opinion, Dennys is the best place for breakfast in Oakhurst. This is probably the best Dennys on the planet for good food and great customer service. read more

Two words : Cafeteria food! I get it, its a chain, but this one is at the bottom of the barrel for sure!

First off, if you want good breakfast food go to Pete's Place. This is the worst Dennys I have ever been to. I had horribly slow service, couldn't get my drinks refilled, waited an eternity to get my food, and overall was horribly dissatisfied. I went later in the evening, and considering it's a small town there aren't many options for late night dining, but I would recommend McDonald's, Burger King, Jack in the box, or taco bell before going here. At least at the fast food places you get your food -fast-. And it's sad to say you are more likely to enjoy your food there also. read more
