Don't even think about eating here. Food always comes out slow and cold. Servers reek like cigarettes and not happy to help you.

Why can't I give them zero stars? Just an FYI -- the one star was required for this review but never earned. So... What's so bad about this Denny's? Everything!! Flies. Multiple layers of dust on all the surfaces. Sticky table. The temp inside was warmer than outside. Ever hear of AC? We ordered our "food." 45 MINUTES LATER they bring out the wrong meals (after I alerted the waitress that our food had been sitting there for 10 minutes waiting to be delivered to us.) The food they brought out to us looked terrible, as well as not being what we had ordered. They apologized for the error and promised to "fix it." I could see that they were incapable of fixing anything (the AC, the flies, the dust everywhere, the dirty tables.) We all got up and left, already late to our campsite (since when does a Denny's meal take 45 minutes to prepare?!) So we went to McDonalds instead. A MUCH better alternative, sadly. So... How do you get DENNYS WRONG?! I don't know. But this team has done a miraculous job of taking a mediocre dining experience and taking it down to a terrible one. I've been going to Denny's since I was a kid. This one is the worst I have ever seen! Save yourself some time, money, and trouble and go elsewhere! On the east side of Yosemite there's a place called "Niceleys." It's like Denny's with great food. Similar menu items all cooked from scratch. It's in a town called Lee Vining about 1.5 hours from the worst Denny's in the world. 1.5 hours may seem like a long time to drive for an alternative, but you may find yourself waitin just as long at this Denny's for the worst "Grand Slam" you've ever seen. read more

We came here because everything else looked empty but once we went in No one was at the front. The manager told us she will be with us soon and more than 10 minutes passed and she didn't seat us. There was only one waitress and the manager was waitressing as well. Then after waiting she sat us on a dirty table. We walked out and went to eat at China delight and got fresh made food. read more

We went for breakfast and although most tables were empty, we were asked to wait at the entrance. After a 10 minute wait we were shown to a booth. My wife found butter on the bench and mentioned it to a server who brought a napkin soy wife could wipe it up herself. We waited about 10 minutes with no server, coffee or water served. We bailed and went down the block to Katie's Country Kitchen. We were seated immediately, given water and coffee and had a great breakfast that was served very quickly. Great BIG thank you to the staff at Denny's in Oakhurst, CA!! Late one Friday afternoon, I absentmindedly left my brand new cell phone in the women's restroom after spending some time in Yosemite with my family. I was heart broken thinking I would never see it again! Lucky for me one of the employees there found it exactly where I left it. After getting home I called back on Saturday afternoon to talk to the manager. He and the general manager assured me it would be safe until they were able to send it to me a few days later. As the Post Office wouldn't open until Monday. Of course I wouldn't recommend ever doing this on purpose. I was extremely lucky. But know the staff at this place were very honest and reassuring. :) Oh the food hit the spot in taming my VERY hungry crowd. :) The wait staff were also very nice, attentive and super pleasant to work with. They have six tables for outdoor seating. The hosts gave us a 25 minute wait time. About 45 minutes later, we walked out and only one table had food. 20 minutes later, they were ringing up a table and they said they would wipe down the table and seat us in 1-2 minutes. 15 minutes later we give up and leave. We see that there were FOUR empty tables outside and we were the ONLY people waiting for a table. If you're not able to get seated right away, DO NOT WAIT. read more

I LOVE Denny's. Breakfast anytime of day?! What could go wrong? We were on our way back from the national parks. Our stomachs begged for ANYTHING but after getting food poisoning in the woods we opted for a familiar name. Denny's glowing light captivated us and we pulled in ecstatically. It was like stepping into a time machine. Our party had an obviously gay member... I didn't know how "obvious" it was until the I saw the dirty looks from this Denny's staff and guests. Regardless, the close mindedness of others was not going to affect our first real meal of the day. We ordered and my meal came first. Everyone encouraged me to go ahead because we were starving. I had finished my entire meal before my friend's meal even came out... We got the bill and her meal never came. The waitress had taken forever to refill waters, forgot to bring straws, etc, etc. This was all forgivable. But HOW, just HOW do you ask how someone wants their eggs and write all this down and then it never comes out? The only person with a shred of dignity in the place was the manager who brought the meal out late and excluded it from the receipt... I've seen managers go out of their way for smaller issues than forgetting a customer altogether. When I went to pay for the food, the individual charged my credit card the price without asking me how much tip I wanted to leave or even asking me to sign anything.. We had no cash and were unable to leave a nice tip, even though it had not been earned. We scrambled up change from the car for a terrible tip. Got here late ish on a Sunday night. They had run out of fries, Diet Coke, and soup crackers.... I mean come on ... And there was a 30 minute wait to get in. How come franchise owners screw up like this. Avoid it at all costs on Sunday at least. read more

One star is too much in my opinion. I was at this Denny's this morning and was seated on a dirty table. When I told the waitress that the table was dirty, she told me to wait for it to be cleaned. I waited about 20 minutes to have the table cleaned and then finally got my order taken. During our visit, we saw a family leave because the food was taking too long to receive their food. So they got up and tried to pay. A blonde waitress began screaming bad words at them and told them to leave. I feel bad for them and my experience today will now prevent me from going to any Denny's. read more

It's a shame you can't go lower than 1. We came in with 4 people, had a group of 12 coming in. We were told we were supposed to call it in if we had a group that big but it was fine, he was able to seat us. It was very nice of him to take us in even though we weren't following Denny procedure. I helped him set up the conjoining tables and we sat. The restaurant was empty Sans a table that was wrapping up breakfast. As a couple more tables came in, he went over to them and got them drinks...then took the orders....and we waited. As our full group came in with inquires of if we had ordered yet, we told them he hasn't even come by yet. Another man entered Denny's, he sat and you guessed it was brought a drink and then had his order taken. At this point 20 mins had passed. We all decided that our group breakfast could be ordered elsewhere and we walked out. Our waitress took 25min to take our food order and then came back another 20 min later and asked how my friend wanted his eggs cooked because she forgot to ask and then came back 20 min later with food for 2 of our party of 4 and only then let my friend know that they were completely out of what he had ordered and then didn't comp the $2 pancakes he changed his order to which were cold when they came out. My other friend ordered an egg white omelet which they apparently made without egg whites and had to remake. She was informed of this after the rest of us had already received our food.... and she was fairly certain it wasn't the right omelet when it came out. No apologies... no offers to make up for anything. Just bad service :( read more

Came here at night. Not a busy night, may be 3 other patrons eating dinner. Our server was nice, got us our table, help us settle down, although we didn't get the amount of utensils needed, but we grabbed them from other tables. Ordered our food and drinks. Got the drinks and then our server went MIA, mid service. No refills or anything. Food was not cooked properly. Burger was still raw, chicken was not grilled, but rather felt it was boiled. We left all our food as it was without eating. Spent $90 for disappointment. Should've trusted the reviews before we came. read more

We all know the how to food is so let ke talk about the noise level. There was a large party with kids screaming and running amok. One od the waitress name might be Denise was so loud. She basically yells when she is talking right next to you. We asked to be seated in a quiter area and once the loud party left we noticed the place actually had music playing. Staff is kind and courteous. Never have had any issues here. I just wouldn't try to pull a motorhome or trailer into their parking lot as it has a hill and we all laugh as once a year someone gets stuck. Other than that its the only place in town where you can be up at 2am because you had a few too many coffees late in the day and satisfy your food cravings. read more

They built this Denny's Restaurant in Oakhurst maybe a year ago. First visit the other day. I always think of a good breakfast when I think of Denny's but not this time. I don't know if it is just this new Denny's or what. The design of the restaurant is very nice. It even has a banquet room. The service was okay but the food was not very good. The texture and taste of the eggs were like nothing I have had. Hash browns were yuk as was the coffee. Can't see us going back. read more

We stopped by before heading back to bayarea. Service wasn't good. I ordered burgers and fries. Burgers came first..then she said fries are coming soon.. i ate over half my burger.. waited few mins n I finally asked wheres my fries? She rushed the fries out overcooked. Burger was ok... fries bad! Coffee watered down! I expect a smile. Greet. Apology when necessary. And even making up for such bad service. So next time were in town.. were not going to dennys. We have been to Dennys multiple times, but we refuse to go there anymore.. The service is absolutely horrible.. It doesn't matter if it's packed or we are the only people there the service always sucks. The food is never good. Bacon is thin as paper and chewy like gum. We visited this place because our hotel was just next door to it. Before to be seated, we had been told that they have only 1 chef. So, the foods would take a bit more time. And we're ok with that. I ordered Alaskan Salmon, just disappointed about the size of salmon, it's very tiny for $12 and broccolis, corns that come with it don't look good at all. Nothing to remember here. After spending the day at Bass Lake, everything was super busy, so we stopped on our way home in Oakhurst. First off, our kids ate free so it was just 3 adults and was still $70. Only one waitress out working 4 tables, she couldn't keep up with everything. We had to ask for, refills, napkins, straws, boxes. Nothing was offered. We had to still the silverware from other tables. The high chair was nasty. I could go on. We frequent the area often, but won't be back here. read more

We knew what we wanted and when we told the server we are ready (we have a schedule we are trying to follow) she said "No, I will just take the drinks order". I told her I'm ready to order but she insisted that she will just take the drinks order, "Water" there you go. Another lady took our food order but was as rushed and mean as the first one. No tip coming from me! No one is here why the rush? Writing this review while waiting for my kids to finish. This is how annoyed I am. I should have heeded the warnings. Speechless. Restaurant full of empty tables, seemed to be plenty of wait staff, would not seat us, or any of the other 20 ppl in the lobby for over 25 mins. The hostess asks the manager right in front of everyone if she can seat more customers...no he says. Not now. Then he goes behind the counter and starts checking his phone. Hopefully he was looking for a new job. On a Sunday too, should expect customers on Sunday's. Not recommended at all. We went to Pops, just down the street by Subway. Awesome food, polite staff. If i could give less then one star I would. First I was here last year in October and said they just opened everyone's getting used to the menus ect......So I've come back for another visit to this town and came here again giving it a second chance!! Biggest mistake ever! Server still don't know the menu and asked for my has browns to to crispy and they are soggy and dark brown drenched in burnt oil!! Two eggs looks like they used mini eggs. Anyways it didn't look good so I asked for just french toast thinking who can mess that up!! And it came out fine!! We came back late after hiking in the Yosemite Valley all day, and stopped by Denny's for a late dinner. We ordered the following items: - tilapia ranchero: fish was okay 2/5 - Santa Fe skillet: 4/5- tasted good and the portion was large. - strawberry n creams pancake slam: pancakes were pretty fluffy! It's really sweet though with the white chocolate (almost like a dessert) 3/5 -eggs/tbone: unfortunately very well done even though my friend asked for medium. :/ 1/5 - bacon slamburger: burger was good but the fries were super dry and dehydrated. 2/5 Service was pretty good though all around! They actually have an all value day value menu (all you can eat pancakes for $4) that is worth checking out too(though it's usually place on the table, the waitress doesn't give it to you) read more

Apparently they are understaffed, undertrained, and lack common sense. First they took our drink order. A few minutes after seating us and quickly returned with our drinks. Our waitress accidentally slams the glass of water down on the table and then drops the straws off. She never comes by to wipe up the water or give me napkins to clean up the puddle she created. 50+ minutes later we are still waiting for our food. Food came after an hour. This place was probably the worst Denny's I've ever been to. The service was awful. And the food was disgusting. I ordered a club that had one slice of turkey and bacon and just lettuce in the other part of the club. The food was decent, but we had to wait 45 minutes to be served (family of 4). Other people came in after us and got their food before us.
