There is reasons why this Denny's deserves NO STAR! Keep your money and go to Burger King! Services and waiters/waitress are terribly poor! They will make you wait for 20 mins to get seated and 75% of tables are open! Foods are poorly prepared! Tastes was nasty! I found a HAIR in my nachos!!!!! NOT WORTH your money to eat at this place! STAY AWAY! This place ruined my Yosemite trip! I got stomachache and diarrhea after lunch there! read more

Not enough servers. Plus the ones there, had the worst attitude. Avoid at all costs! Two nights in a row we couldn't get a table. A joke if a place and an embarrassment to the franchise! read more

Our first experience was okay. Just me and my daughter and we weren't pressed for time. The restaurant was almost empty but we still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. They seem under staffed. Food was good though. Our waitress seemed a bit dry but she went out of her way to please my daughter a few times and I appreciated her effort. We tried to go back recently as a family but left before ever making it inside. Other customers came out as we were about to walk in and said, "I hope you aren't hungry. There is no one here but the wait is 30-45 minutes and they don't have any silverware". We've heard several other horror stories about wait times and rude staff. With minimal effort, this place would be a huge money maker being surrounded by hotels and so close to Yosemite. They are really missing the mark. If you have the time to sit and wait and you just really want Denny's then go for it. Honestly, there aren't really many other sit down options in the area and it's the only way they have stayed open at this point. read more

hours aren't the same as listed online but its a nice, clean place. our server Nina was very kind and helpful

If I could give them a 0 star I really would. The food tastes terrible and greasy. I thought at least they could do a decent omelette but NO NO No, I made the wrong decision of coming here. It is the worst Denny's I have ever been to. If I have diarrhea tonight and causes preterm labor, I will consider filing a lawsuit. I have never eaten anything in my life that makes me want to vomit right after. read more

Dirty . The floor was sticky and nasty . Food had no seasoning no flavor. I spent 70 dollars on 3 meals that were not tasty at all .

40 minute wait for three tables while tables getting served by other waiters. When asked where our oder was a waitress said he is cooking while walking away. No customer service at all. My husband went to reception and was told they were working on it. We left. If they had been more proactive or even indicated that they were sorry I would not making this post. BEWARE if ordering something sweet. Place has a fly problem. read more

My wife and I went here Thanksgiving morning for breakfast because it was the only restaurant open. The only other places for breakfast were the fast food places like Carl's, MacDonalds, etc. We will not make that mistake again. The coffee was luke warm, the scrambled eggs were so cold that the finely grated cheese did not even have a hint of melting, the bacon was under done and less than warm, the hash browns were so thin and over done that I needed a knife to cut them and they too were less than warm. Not as cold as the eggs, but close. The flour tortillas (no corn available) were so cold that they were stiff. My wife's breakfast was no better. We would have done much better if we had gotten a couple of eggs and Jimmy Dean microwave breakfasts and made breakfast in our room. I will sure keep that in mind. Our breakfasts at Denny's were the worst restaurant meals we have ever had. read more

Food sucks flys everywhere don't even waste your time didn't even bring out my pancakes

Service was great! Got a T-bone steak and it was a little overcooked. But other than that everything else was great!

They put no effort into trying to make space for my group, even when there were clearly enough seats. The waitress was not welcoming at all, as soon as i mentioned my party number she replied "nope no seating for you guys." It is outdoor seating, which is good, but there were barely any seats altogether, maybe a max of about 15 customers. Not worth our time read more

We stopped by before we drove down the mountain for a quick bite to eat. We ordered our usual cheeseburgers with a side salad. My salad was so limp I couldn't eat it and my burger was so over cooked it was crispy and dry. There were no sweetener packets and the catsup was empty. We had to get up twice to get what we needed ourselves. Not up to your usual standards Denny's. read more

We were starving after hiking through Yosemite and Yelp stated that everything in Oakhurst closed at 9. We decided to just stop at the first place we see. Unfortunately, it was this Denny's. I never thought I would eat at a Denny's. Let alone, a Denny's in California. But there I was, at a Denny's at 9pm in Oakhurst, California. We were just trying to get take-out, but we left without food. There was only one family ahead of us, so we thought we could get in and get out. This was not the case. A few families came in after us, but the server seated everyone and took their orders. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we decided we would rather starve than get completely ignored. VERY HELPFUL TIP: there's a pizza place and McDonalds right down the road that close at 10. Do yourself a favor and go there instead. read more

Before heading to Yosemite we stopped to have breakfast. The restaurant was clean and the staff was so kind. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Definitely will be coming back and one of the best Denny's experiences I've had to date! read more

The waitress was nice and attentive, but we got food poisoning. Either the scrambled eggs or moldy burger bun probably.

Super Slow. They literally have to employees for the whole restaurant! Dash at 4 in the afternoon. They always give you the same excuse, "we've been slow all week". I'm a local and I know this is a lie. The owners are simply cheap. It is the same with their Indian restaurant. You will choke before you get more water or a refill on a drink. The waitresses also the cashier, and she's busy waiting on eight tables on this light. One waiter, one cook, two employees = crappy slow service. And by the way please don't reply and say you're "sorry". If you truly are sorry, hire more staff. read more

If I can give -5 stars I would. So we just got done walking through Mariposa Grove and there was 9 adults 4 kids, 4 hungry kids that only ate snacks throughout the trail and it was so rude that we were not able to be sat. They went back to check if they had enough "tables" and she came back and said sorry we are going to take in smaller groups first. Then another woman came and told us they couldn't see any bigger guests than 8 people and my dad asked", so what does that mean?" And she straight up just said "we can't sit you guys down". Like wtf? What kind of restaurant does that. They could've make 3x the money with our bigger group. So rude. Please think 10 times before coming here! -5 stars!!!!! read more

Horrible, horrible service. Avoid at all costs. Husband and I had just completed our Half Dome hike and needed some food before turning in for the night. The hostess told us it would be a 30 minute wait, but used a warning tone... We went ahead and placed a to-go and waited. And waited. For an HOUR. For ONE burger with fries. Mind you, there were only 3-4 tables seated for dine-in, and 2-3 other guests waiting for to-go orders at 10:00 PM. We sat and watched the hostess continue to tell new incoming guests that they would have to wait. Most of these people would walk right back out of the restaurant. What really stood out to me was that 2 teenagers walked in to make a to-go order in person, but the hostess encouraged them to use the Denny's app to place an order and come back to the restaurant when it was ready. The teens came back about 30 minutes later and before they could say a word, the hostess said "You should just go to McDonald's down the street and order burgers and a milkshake!" What the heck? Horrible customer service. The teens were caught off-guard and responded, "But you told us to use the Denny's app..." The hostess didn't even apologize and just said they would have to keep waiting. Once we received our order ONE HOUR later, the burger was messy, and it looked like they didn't even bother to properly separate the sliced fries... it was as if 2-3 fries were melded together. The wait staff didn't apologize for our extended wait or even treat us nicely. The entire time we were at Denny's, it felt as if we were a BURDEN to the staff. Excuse me! read more

A couple of our friends stopped by this Denny's after our camping trip from Yosemite. Right of the bat we sensed the tension and overwhelming stress from their waitress who did not even greet us but instead said "I have two 18 tables so I can't sit you down! You'll have to wait 35-40 minutes and wait" To our surprise we looked at their restaurant and their were still CLEARLY vacant table and booths. We were so shocked by her rudeness that it took some time for our group to respond. Lord and behold Lorenzo to the rescue. He came just in the nick of time and greeted us and sat our group of four. He then asked us what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order? We all were and he came out with drinks, 25 minutes later our food arrived. It didn't take as long as the lady waitress with the black hair had said. Lorenzo was prompt, professional and extremely attentive. My husband was so impressed by Lorenzo exceptional customer service that he wanted to tip him personally. This was another bad encounter we experienced with the same waitress(black hair). My husband asked for Lorenzo to commend his hard work and amazing service. Waitress responded with a snarky reply regarding her own work and how she was unable to do all she could to help us. We empathize since both my husband and I work in a fast pace environment, but her overall attitude was unprofessional to say the least. The sad part is her performance was overshadowed by Lorennzos kindness. We hoped to thank Lorenzo but did not see him. Checkout was another issue.. blonde waitress was patient at the beginning but when she realized she would be splitting three separate checks she was very condescending about giving us our check asking "did I not print out your check". No you did not we replied. Her response, "you didn't eat". My husband was shocked and replied back "well we did eat our food other wise why are we paying for it?" Her sarcasm at the end "have a Lovely day" was so sour it made us sick. Lorenzo this is solely for you. We hope you have a lovely day -no sarcasms attached and we truly hope you flourish in this company cause clearly you're the only one who knows how to run a business. read more

I'm all done going here. I really want to like it, but they have major staffing issues. It's not that they don't have enough employees, its that they don't schedule enough employees and try to save on labor I guess. I went in a little over a week ago and was Seated, had my order taken, and was served my food by the Chef. There was only ONE employee there! There were only two other tables and we waited almost 45 mins for some pancakes and nacho appetizers. The staff is excellent and it's irresponsible to ask so much of them and the owner clearly does NOT CARE about their diners experience. We never got a bill, no refill on drinks (even though we eventually had to flag him down to ask for refills-he never brought the drinks back) so we just got up to leave bc I had to be at work. Well, we got no bill b/c the computers were down. I had to guess what my bill was while the only server/cook/hostess/busser was on the phone trying to get help with the computers. By that time there is a line of people at the door waiting to be seated. Yes, our town is tourist-ee, but the locals are what will keep this place alive in the winter/down time. Then Christmas Eve, they're the only place open. Understaffed AGAIN! Two hours for pancakes and eggs for me and my little guy. The server said that she cooked them b/c they needed help. My entire plate was wrong. I had to get my own silverware and syrup for my boy. After two hours, I guessed what my bill might be and left money on the table. We're done. HEY GUEST SERVICES- Don't bother with the standard cut/paste "Sorry we are terrible" response. Staffing has been an issue for over a year according to your vast amount of negative reviews read more

Tbh. Worst Denny's ever. The lady serving us was rude and she was sick and boogers were coming out of her and nose and whipping her nose with her hand, bet she didn't even wash it. The food was also gross, the toast burn, skillet cold, chicken dry. The lady serving us forgot half of our order and when we asked for it she didn't give it to us. Plus they took forever to seat us. That same lady yelled at people waiting that they couldn't seat them. Service was horrible overall. Just save your time and money and go somewhere else. Get more decent workers here Denny's. read more

I'm going to go ahead and give this 5 stars because this was literally the savior of our day. We were all so so hungry after hiking in the valley all day and probably could not have made it any further without some good hot food (and not trail mix). I was pleasantly surprised that the wait wasn't too long and it wasn't as terrible as all the other reviews made it seem. For context, we went there around 7pm in the later months of the summer. In all honesty, the service and the people here were way nicer than a lot of the people at other restaurants we went to in the valley. You all know what Denny's food is like. Not the best thing ever, and we still got some soggy fries here and there, but they sure can make toast and eggs! In the end, it was all a good time and we were all able to comfortably eat our fill and get on with our business. Not dishin out any hate for this one! read more

I sat here for a half an hour waiting for someone to just take my order. I then waited about another half hour for cold as fuck fries and queso that had a skin on it for sitting for so long, when I told the waitress she yelled to the cooks, "SHE DOESN'T WANT THE FRIES SHE SAID THEY WRRE COLD." The cook got mad and I still got sent out another order of cold fries. The cooks also didn't fill the rest of my order, a skillet, and yelled at the waitress when she told them the order was in front of them. I was seated near the kitchen, the waitress didn't even bother to come tell me anything about the delay. Worst Denny's ever. read more

WORST PLACE, WORST SERVICE AND HORRIBLE FOOD I would even love to sue this place for multiple reasons. First the waitress mentioned that the chef is new and will cook to his style and not whats on the menu. This is exactly what happened. We ordered chicken boneless wings with buffalo sauce. The order came after 1 hr with standard boneless wings without any sauce. The waitress mentioned that the chef forgot to put the sauce. WTF. She even took the order wrong and was not friendly at all. There were couple of drunk people in the restaurant who went around talking to other tables and it was so disturbing. The food was horrible. After a 28 mile hike, we were so expecting to eat a hot meal but Denny's just ruined it for us. The veg omelette had sausage in it, Chicken tenders were all salty and every single order was horrible. Not the same as other Dennys locations. This is by far that worst. Please never go to this place. read more

Lots of reviews of this place are about bad service and an understaffed establishment. It's clear the restaurant is aware of these issues -- multiple signs advertised for employment for all positions. We went around 10am when it wasn't too busy. Service and food were fine. Our order was taken perfectly and there was always someone around for coffee and water refills. Overall, a typical Denny's. read more

To make a long story short here's what we experienced: Took about 30 min for someone to take our order. Note the restaurant was not busy at all. The waitress went straight to the food order and didn't mention drinks at all. We had to mention what drinks we wanted. About 40 min later the food came. And it was cold. My wife ordered a steak well done and when she cut it open, blood oozed out. I mean really? Throughout the time we were eating no employee was insight. I had to hunt one down for a drink refill. Then when they brought it was wrong. At check out I waited in line for about 10 min. The lady didn't seem to know what she was doing. Got to the front handed my ATM card and she told me to hold on and helped the people behind me. Apparently she knew them. This is my first review. Worst experience ever. You be the judge! read more

Tried Dennys in Oakhurst despite bad reviews. I wont be coming back. My whole breakfast was served cold.

My friends and I were all in town for a wedding and the morning after, my boyfriend and I wanted to get some breakfast. We stopped here since it was close to the hotel we were staying at. We had a terrible experience. At first the waitress greeted us and told us to sit anywhere, then she asked what we were drinking. We both requested water and the next time she spoke to us was 20 minutes later when we left after no one took our order, nor brought us water. People came in after us and were brought drinks and their orders taken before us. My boyfriend and I are both Hispanic and young, and couldn't help but wonder if it was race related since every other Caucasian individual around us was helped but us. We're both from the Bay Area so we never experienced anything like this. I did read some reviews where it seems like the poor service is a common theme here. We do hope it wasn't race related or age related, but regardless of the situation, the service was terrible. I definitely don't recommend this place. read more

I am absolutely disgusted by the service. We stopped in on a Sunday morning closer to noon. The young hispanic man, who took our order, was friendly and attentive while he was there. About 20 minutes into out meal my son started to vomit. Luckily, I caught most of it in a bowl and cup. My grandma asked for help, and nothing. My mom asked for help, and nothing. Even worse, I could hear the two other servers giggling about not wanting to deal with it. One woman was making shakes, alright- you're busy. The other, wrapping silverware. Where the Mexican guy went, I don't know. I got a little upset, and they stopped giggling but still no help. For all they know, the vomit was on the floor. The ladies waited for the bus boy to come out and then asked him to help us. Horrible experience, horrible service, horrible women. read more

They asked for my name and number again and hung up I called back saying that I think I got hung up on And the lady replied "We've had enough of it, bye" No idea what I even did to bother them, except call a few times during a non busy time (230pm) The reviews on here are right. Why can't I give them zero stars? Just an FYI -- the one star was required for this review but never earned. So... What's so bad about this Denny's? Everything!! Flies. Multiple layers of dust on all the surfaces. Sticky table. The temp inside was warmer than outside. Ever hear of AC? We ordered our "food." 45 MINUTES LATER they bring out the wrong meals (after I alerted the waitress that our food had been sitting there for 10 minutes waiting to be delivered to us.) The food they brought out to us looked terrible, as well as not being what we had ordered. They apologized for the error and promised to "fix it." I could see that they were incapable of fixing anything (the AC, the flies, the dust everywhere, the dirty tables.) We all got up and left, already late to our campsite (since when does a Denny's meal take 45 minutes to prepare?!) So we went to McDonalds instead. A MUCH better alternative, sadly. So... How do you get DENNYS WRONG?! I don't know. But this team has done a miraculous job of taking a mediocre dining experience and taking it down to a terrible one. I've been going to Denny's since I was a kid. This one is the worst I have ever seen! Save yourself some time, money, and trouble and go elsewhere! On the east side of Yosemite there's a place called "Niceleys." It's like Denny's with great food. Similar menu items all cooked from scratch. It's in a town called Lee Vining about 1.5 hours from the worst Denny's in the world. 1.5 hours may seem like a long time to drive for an alternative, but you may find yourself waitin just as long at this Denny's for the worst "Grand Slam" you've ever seen. read more

We went for breakfast and although most tables were empty, we were asked to wait at the entrance. After a 10 minute wait we were shown to a booth. My wife found butter on the bench and mentioned it to a server who brought a napkin soy wife could wipe it up herself. We waited about 10 minutes with no server, coffee or water served. We bailed and went down the block to Katie's Country Kitchen. We were seated immediately, given water and coffee and had a great breakfast that was served very quickly. I will never go to a Denny's again. read more
