It's clean and the servers are polite. The food is tasty enough. It's a standard Denny's.

The person followed us over to our table and made several smart remarks about the dog. We always find an isolated table or a bench seat so as not to bother other diners. Some people make a big deal about dogs being allowed in restaurants. The woman mad a big deal about me carrying the dog in. The restaurant was busy and it was easier fro me to carry the dog in than let her navigate through the many diners.Afetr her terrible attitude and smart remarks we left. We told her that we would never be back.Oh and there were several members of the congregation in the restaurant. They had arrived moments earlier who could vouch for my dog being a service dog as she attends all the services. She was clearly marked as a service dog and I had the necessary papers to prove it but was never asked. She was rude and looking for a confrontation.

The casual full service "itty bitty" dining room is inviting and homey with tables and hard booths. Various neat decor hangs on the light beige walls (peacock ceramic, classic signs, words of wisdom signs). The breakfast offerings here consist of egg platters, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, oatmeal & breakfast sides. All breakfasts come with coffee or tea, The lunch offerings consist of wraps, sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, hot dogs, and platters (chicken fingers, hot sandwiches (with gravy), fish & chips, hamburger steak, liver & onions, roast beef dinner) and sweets for dessert. The prices here are very reasonable, with many items well under $10 including all of the breakfast menu. This is probably why this place is so busy, I stopped here for Saturday morning breakfast and the parking lot was almost full. Upon entering the diner, the place was hopping with just about every table occupied with customers. I only had to wait about a minute as folks were leaving the place and I immediately took a seat at the far end of the "itty bitty" dining room. The waitress had to wipe down my table first. I started out with hot coffee (included) and ordered the Western Omelette ($7.25) with homefries & wheat toast. The Western omelette was a standard grilled folded egg blended ham & onions. The homefries were small fresh cut potatoes grilled browned and seasoned soft. The wheat toast (triangle cuts) was buttered, jams provided. The food was good. The service here was delayed and minimal attention given since the place was very busy. The food took about 25 minutes to arrive after ordering and I was given a refill on the coffee after my food was served. There was no cream (creamers) on the table, just sugar only, so I ended up drinking my coffee black. I settled the check up at the front register.

My comparison was only based on the coffee and glazed donut as they can commonly be found at both chains. Overall, I really enjoyed Tim Hortons more. Maybe it was the honey in their glazed donut that tilted the scale for me! The vibe at this spot was really nice too!! Clean and chill! I really liked the fire place tv they had for guests to huddle around. It create a warm ambiance feeling! Timbits were fun bite size donuts! I got the assorted 10 pack (5 flavors, 2 of each). It gave the small bites experience I wanted to sample their donut variations. Coffee was a simple diner coffee. Not the best, but not that bad. A coffee that tastes like you can get it at any diner. I got a vanilla dip, apple fritter, Boston creme, honey cruller, honey dip, and double chocolate. My winner out of all the options I got was the honey cruller followed by the Boston cream!!

Bad experience, I asked for refund, she never tried to add more or even keep us satisfied. She proceeded the refund without any comment or sorry. Will never go there again. I stumbled across this place when I had gone to the corner's Coffee Craving a few months ago…read more When I had gone back to Kingston this passed weekend, and was passing through the Greater Napanee Area, I knew Ellena's was a spot I needed to return to! Super friendly service, great collection of kitchen and home decor items, wine, very come-in-and-we'll-treat-you-well kinda vibe. The first time I picked up some Swedish sponges, at just under $7.00 ea for most of them (depending on sizing), that's approximately $3.00 in savings from the grocery store in Toronto. Points for Ellena's. Not a top, top fan of these sponges though. This first visit also allowed me to purchase a berry pie (not Saskatoon, similar to blueberry however I can't recall the name). This pie was delicious. I knew I had to return to pick up the Chicken Pesto sandwich that was calling my name, yet I needed to leave behind due to my bank card not working. So return I did, and that chicken pesto, was so scrumptious. Would likely have been more enjoyable had I eaten it when it was warm, yet I wasn't all that hungry when I arrived and ended up eating it about 2 hours later. The person who brought it out to me was lovely, he hand delivered it and said, "enjoy". I was waiting in the store. It was such a nice thing for him to do. Above and beyond! I picked up 3 more pies: pecan, blueberry and raspberry. I am obsessed with raspberries, seriously so tasty. This pie is up my alley, the filling is rather generous and the crust is an ideal pairing. It was light in colour, which gave me the pondering of how cooked it was, yet there weren't any raw dough bits. In fact, it was pretty good. The pecan pie is, well, gone. It was also really very good. I tried to make pecan pie once, it didn't have the same flavour most pecan pie has when its made by others. There is a reason Ellena's pecan pie did not last long with me. The blueberry pie, has yet to be tried. This crust also looks on the lighter side. The pastry I picked up was the Pain Au Chocolat. They looked too good sitting next to the cash out. I was definitely buying with my eyes that day and that croissant was flakey, buttery, that strip of chocolate down the centre, rich, delicious, memorable. Very, easy to devour. If I were a glutton, baked goods and treats is definitely the way I would go. I was tempted to get more, the excitment of trying a new place out when I'm in the area infrequently, was present, yet I held back. Needed to spread the money & love to other local shops. :) 100% a spot to hit up when you are in the lil' township.
