We had family visiting from Northern California, and I insisted we have breakfast at Denny's Winchester because my wife and I have been regular customers here for about two years. We have always spoken highly of this location because of the friendly and courteous customer service. Unfortunately, that changed on September 22, 2026. Around 10:00 a.m., we were having breakfast with our family. Our waitress, Lucy, brought our food to the table. As she placed some of the plates on the table, the remaining plates on the tray started shifting and sliding off the serving stand. Several plates fell to the floor, and one of them came very close to my disabled aunt. Thankfully, my uncle reacted quickly and caught the plates before they hit her. My uncle has also worked in the restaurant business for about 20 years, so he understands proper restaurant etiquette and would never simply grab a plate from a serving tray while a server was delivering the food. What bothered us most was Lucy's reaction. Instead of simply acknowledging that it was an accident and making sure everyone was okay, she immediately told us that this happened because my uncle had touched the tray and insisted that he had grabbed his plate. My wife witnessed the entire incident from where she was sitting and explained that she saw Lucy remove two plates from the tray, which caused the weight of the remaining plates to shift. My uncle only reacted because the plates were moving toward my disabled aunt, and he instinctively caught them to keep her from being hit. Despite this explanation, Lucy continued arguing with us and insisting that my uncle had grabbed his plate and caused the plates to fall. My aunt eventually told her that she was being rude and that she was blaming her husband for her mistake. At that point, I asked everyone to drop the issue and just enjoy breakfast. Lucy brought replacement plates, and we decided to move on. Unfortunately, when I was paying the bill, I spoke with another employee and explained that we were regular customers and that we continued coming to this location because of the excellent customer service we had always received. Lucy then approached me again and continued insisting that my uncle had grabbed his plate and caused the incident. I told her that there are cameras in the restaurant and suggested that management review the footage so everyone could see exactly what happened. I told her I wasn't angry. I was disappointed with how she handled the situation. Accidents happen. Nobody was injured, and that should have been the focus. Instead, she continued arguing with a customer and repeatedly blaming him for something he did not do. My uncle was embarrassed and upset. He hadn't even had the opportunity to eat his meal, yet he was repeatedly treated as though he had done something wrong. He is an adult who has years of experience in the restaurant business and knows better. The frustrating part is that my uncle's quick reflexes may have actually prevented this from becoming a much more serious situation. If he hadn't caught those plates, one could have hit my disabled aunt and potentially caused an injury. I am not upset that plates fell. Things happen. I am upset about the way the situation was handled afterward. A simple "I'm sorry, that was an accident. Is everyone okay?" would have been enough. Instead, the situation turned into an unnecessary argument. We have been loyal customers for approximately two years and have recommended this location to family and friends because of the great service we previously received. That is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope management reviews the camera footage from around 10:00 a.m. on September 22 and addresses the customer-service issue appropriately. First time into this location the other day and it was overall a pretty good experience. It was clean inside and we were greeted and seated right away. I didn't catch our servers name but she was nice and checked on us often. She was able to create an item for me that had been removed from the menu (I guess it has been that long since I ate at a Dennys). I didnt get a picture but the item was delicious! It was the fries with the queso cheese and bacon bits on top. We ordered some drinks and I only got water, but you could tell the cup was brand new and not heavily used or old and gross and foggy looking. It was clean and clear I loved that. The two slams we got were good, I always feel like my eggs and bacon portions look like they are just an after thought because 2 eggs doesn't look like much on a plate as it is and there was no hash browns on mine (come to think of it, I'm not sure they remembered to give me my potatoes). The stuffed banana French toast was really good. The pudding in the middle was a bit too much for me the more I ate it. Overall a good experience, I'd be back here again. read more

Incorrect protein on plate, and had to wait a long time for our server to get back to us. This short review is for the Denny's along Winchester Road in Murrieta. We some here occasionally after church, the food that we order never once comes out warm, seems like it was just sitting by the window counter for a long time before bringing it to the table. Even if we order a dinner meal, it's always room temperature. The taste is good but that's about it. Nothing spectacular. To make it remembered. Average per our taste palette. The prices went up to very significantly. No longer economical for a big family. The service upon being seated is good, they'll bring you coffee right away upon order. The only complaint I have is that they try very hard to upgrade the order and most of the time not mentioning the up charge, but you'll just see it in your bill. Their app is easy to use but be cautious opening up a reward, I suggest opening it when paying because it will disappear. Tried it more than a couple of times opening it at home and it did disappear when I reopened it at the location. The place is always crowded so plan a good 20-30 minute wait. The place is always clean and the elderly lady that does the table cleaning does a wonderful job. She does one thing and does it well. read more

We came here as a family on a Wednesday night around 8 pm after a long day of kids school events. We were kindly greeted upon entering and were given the option to sit anywhere we'd like since it was not crowded, so we chose a booth. Since weeknights are not busy here, there was a total of 3 or 4 staff this night. I had not been to Dennys in years fearing that the prices might have sky rocketed, but after browsing the menu I found the prices were still very fair. I wasn't too hungry so I enjoyed an appetizer of Buffalo wings with a warm cup of their baked potato soup. My son ordered a burger that he thoroughly enjoyed while my daughter and husband chose breakfast items. The portions were very generous, especially the steak & eggs and strawberry banana pancakes. We were all very satisfied with our meals. The waitress took very good care of us. I found our experience here very relaxing and cozy this night with comfort food and the nostalgia of classic diner vibes. Something about it just felt very wholesome spending time as a family here. My wife and I entered the restaurant 12:40 today and were seated in about 15 minutes. A server lady took our drink order after we sat at the table for about 20 minutes. She would not take our food order but just the drinks. After waiting about 30 more minutes without hearing from her again, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, today our luck was met with Lucy as a server and from the beginning she had an ugly tone and kept forgetting to bring us things we asked for. Always, was trying to charge our tab with everything things and supposedly "fixed it" from 88$ to 87$ and when I asked to see the menu for the prince and went and looked at the price on the menu and supposedly "fixed it" again and then states " does that price meet your expectations". I'm not a huge fan of Denny's, I'm more of an IHOP girl, but we needed a place close by for breakfast and to kill time. There was no hostess at the front to seat us, so we waited a few minutes to be acknowledged. Place is as small inside as it looks from the outside, but tastefully decorated and unusually clean (even the restroom) seems almost like they had a recent renovation. It was oddly busy for a Friday morning, not sure if it's because the dining room and parking lot are smallish so it seemed more so. Jesse was hustling in the dining area and was the friendliest and most helpful of the three servers. Food was decent, the Philly cheesesteak omelette had huge chunks of steak, I was expecting thinly sliced like the sandwich. It took awhile to get the bill which is the only reason why I docked a star, we seemed to have been forgotten. MOD checking us out at the register was really cool, would be back again if in the area! Also paid $56 after tip for breakfast for two and a kid's meal which apparently didn't have a drink included so we paid for a drink on the side. Overall the visit was horrible from wait time to waiter to customer service/ hospitality. Me my pregnant wife and 20 month old daughter came during a busy time which the wait is understandable, however we saw multiple parties (similar party sizes) that arrived afterwards get called before us, my wife checked in the table a few times only to be told we're at the top of the list. When we were finally brought to our table there was no high chair which we had requested, it wasn't until about 5 minutes later that the waiter brought us a high chair. Our server, Karla, then took another 8 minutes to come and order our drinks (solely drinks), we noticed that with following parties she and other waiters were more attentive and quicker with their patrons. After we ordered our food it was another long wait and again we noticed parties who came 10-15 minutes after us receive their food before us or at the same time, we did not have a complicated order or any special requests. At this point our toddler was not having it as we were about 90+ minutes in overall. Karla did not check in on us even though we had a crying hungry baby. We have gone to this Denny's quite often and normally have great service and the food is good. Today was not the case. We got seated and generally they will ask what we prefer as far as booth or table being my son is in a wheelchair, they did not this time and just sat us and walked away. We ordered coffee and it was like warm and our waters took forever a lot with our kids drinks. My grandma asked for a spoon and the waiter literally said "yeah yeah, yeah" while waiving his hand in a very rude way. I asked another waiter for a spoon. He brought me a spoon. I turned it over and there's all this nasty gunk on the back of it. While waiting for our food we watched a table get up and leave and said to us that no one wants to serve them. They had sat there for a long time and only got water from the busser.
