Service was the worst! Took over 10 mins to be acknowledged and with plenty of seating only wanted to sit people at dirty tables. Took another 15 to place order. Once food came out waitress never came back and we could of easily walked out but we aren't those type of people. Line of people waiting to be seated for even longer then us. read more

I was just recently there with a party of 12 late at night. First off 1 server and 1 cook, the waiter tells us "I'm about to go on lunch. Y'all are gonna have to wait." And sits us. As we patiently waited, this waiter NEVER took his lunch and kept on serving other little tables. We couldn't even get waters to come to the table! A few of us got up different times to tell him we needed water and when will he come by our table so we can order- he never came by. After waiting for 30 min we gave up and left. I never thought I would experience this in a Monterey Dennys, I felt like I was in Oakland. Especially with 2 up to no good people hanging out in the parking lot talking crap to us as we walked in and out. Don't come to this Dennys! read more

Late Saturday night visit with friends. We were surprised at how empty the place was. Service seemed a bit scattered at first, but it worked out fine. Our orders were filled by memory, not written down, and they got things right. Service was friendly and efficient, refills were plentiful, and food was devoured. My Greek omelet (including nice, fresh mushrooms & spinach) and pancakes (too thick and doughy; could have used some caramelization on the grill) were unspectacular but filled my belly. (I had pancakes at Coco's a couple weeks later and they were noticeably better than Denny's). The pancake syrup didn't really do it for me--all sweet and no fake maple flavor, it seemed. On family vacation and decided to stop here for breakfast before heading to the aquarium despite all the negative reviews. Service was friendly and prompt and food was in line with all other Denny's we've eaten at. Only reason I'm not giving it a five star is my wife said her scrambled eggs were slightly under cooked. It took too long before receiving food. Order was wrong. Asked to substitute sausage for bacon, making it 4 slices. Only received 2 bacons. No bread was provided for 2 plates. At the cashier, the bill was higher than bill placed on table. After complaining, the bill was lowered. Cashier was told to keep the $.02 change. Will never, ever return to this branch. read more

Placed an online order for pick-up Sunday August 1,2021 for 7:45a. When we got back to the hotel we realized that I only got pancakes, the meal was missing the eggs and bacon. Called the restaurant, they verified that the cook forgot to add the missing items. They asked if we want to come back, we said no since the hotel is far from Dennys. He told me he will credit me back probably for the missing items, he just hang up and no aplogies. Did not receive the credit either. Check your food before you leave the establishment and make sure they have the complete order. read more

It smells like a sewer in here!!! Amazing pancakes AND SEWER SMELL!! Food is great, love their breakfasts, but will never come to this location again until that is fixed. Smells like that outside, and inside. There is construction work on the street, probably for the sewer. read more

Additionally, it was hot and humid even though outside was perfect, clean and cold air. Menu were sticky and covered with some months old liquid. My husband & I were exhausted from our drive from the high desert to Monterey Bay. We both couldn't decide where to eat since we were unfamiliar with the area. I got the Bourbon Chicken Skillet with the Bourbon sauce on the side & my husband got the Fiesta Skillet. Both dishes were very delicious, hot & plentiful. We were delighted on how good it was. Bad rating for pests. We USED to eat here, but a roach ran across our table one evening while dining in mid 2022. The waitress that was there didn't seem surprised or embarrassed and we got only a comp on the meal the roach tried to get on the plate of. I wasn't finished eating and couldn't after that. In my 48 years have never have a bug run on a table at a restaurant I was in until that one ran onto the table. It's not the fault of the staff, IMO, but rather a manager or corporate issue. read more

I really like this Denny's. It is the second time I have been, both during holiday weekends when it has been insanely crowded. They really manage to move people in and out of this tiny Denny's (it is like half the size of other's I have seen) quickly. Even when the wait looks insane, we've been seated relatively quickly. Food is good. The service was good. This particular Denny's still retains that old diner feel that I remember from when I was a kid. This place is consistent. Nothing exciting, but when you choose Denny's you are looking for consistent, and this is it. read more

Decided to take my daughter and my two grandkids out to lunch, went in hardly anyone was there which was good. That's what we thought anyway now we know why. The bathrooms were flooded and they didn't have any one working that knew how to fix the soda machine so we couldn't get a cold soda, they did offer us bottled water which was not even cold. But at least it was liquid. Everyone's food came and it was ok except the Turkey Bird sandwich I ordered they didn't put any tomatoes on it and it had the smallest piece of bacon I've ever seen. This morning we were driving around looking for a place to get breakfast, and decided to go to Denny's. We originally made the choice because we thought they were seating inside vs out, due to covid restrictions. They were serving outside but we decided to order out anyway. The waiters were courteous and I noticed how fast and organized food was coming out of the kitchen. Aleandra was the manager and was super organized even as crowds started to come in. She kept the flow going and we had our food bagged and ready to go under 15 minutes. Everything was organized and smooth! I know most of us have horror stories about Denny's, but if you get a good staff and top notch manager in there, things get real good fast! Go check it out! read more

Ordered delivery thru DoorDash, which when I ordered delivery online thru the Denny's app never indicated DoorDash would be delivering because I've read a lot of very bad reviews about DoorDash and would not have agreed to the order, and food never arrived. Restaurant confirmed the driver left with it, but delivery updates show Thelbert (the driver) had arrived but he never arrived. Tried calling and texting the driver who would text back that he was on his way but never came with our food. No chance of getting ahold of DoorDash for a refund and Denny's said there's nothing they can do after the food leaves the restaurant. This is stealing and illegal. read more

Went in Tuesday morning around 3:30am . Eggs were soggy, pancakes weren't halfway done didn't even bother trying the bacon sausage was pink from the inside. it was a horrible thing. mentioned my waiter about it and she tried to take it off the tab I'm sure she thought I did not want to pay for my food so I got upset and I told her it's not about me not wanting to pay for my food it's about none of this food being ready. people can get really sick . I paid for my food and left upset . I had a previous bad experience with the same waiter a few months ago so I honestly think she purposely brought us that shitty food. come to think about it as she puts the plate down in the table she had a small smirk on her face. read more

Awesome experience, even with the Covid limitations, the food was very very good. My family have had Dennys all our lives, and we traveled to Monterrey from Merced CA for my Bday and Fathers day weeke d, a d when we had breakfast this korning my wife was very happy with the Salted Caramel pancakes with hashbrowns and she especially stated "mmmmm, these hashbrowns are really good", which they normally are blah. So thank you to the chef and to all the staff keeping us fed during these tough times, it is so noce to have a tasty meal while taking a trip to this great city of Monterrey. Just think price. You had a meal and didn't even spend a lot of money. It's not high end by any means. It's cheep, clean and quick. The service has always been good to me. Don't eat here is you are trying to avoid dairy. Apparently everything they make is cooked with butter. Even the items on the allergen PDF that are marked as not having dairy. I asked our waitress several times about dairy free options and she assured me that everything cooked has dairy in it. I prefer restaurants where they try to help you find something you can eat.
