This was my first visit to a Denny's restaurant and probably my last. I wasn't impressed n for most 1st impressions count a lot (including myself). Upon coming in no one greeted my party of four for about 5 min. & no one else was in line or waiting. Finally a waitress looked up after talking with a Co worker and seated us. I ordered Alaskan salmon w/red skinned potatoes and fresh sautéed zucchini & squash. Well the salmon was very salty and over cooked (very dry) the potatoes were OK and the fresh sautéed veggies were bland. ..hmmmph I was soooo disappointed being that I finally visited a denny's. The only thing that lightened the mood was the cashier who told corny jokes! (F.Y.I...that was the best part of visit. ..smh)If I happen to go again I know for sure it'll be a long while and it'll definately have to be my ONLY option. read more

Terrible food! Stale coffee! Come and sit with the flies! Unless its 2am and you just left the bar- go somewhere else! read more

Employees made us laugh as they hassled each other. We were a group of nine. I had a veg burger, neither the best nor worst ever. Avocado on top was pretty tasty. I wish I had known of upcharge for veg patty, I'd have just had the turkey. As it was, tasted pretty good, fries okay. I ate them cause I was hungry, I liked bbq sauce with them. Tasty! read more

The eggs aren't real eggs. The silverware was not cleaned properly. It smelled like burned grilled cheese in the bathrooms so I don't know what they did but it was weird. read more

We are traveling back to IN and stopped at this Denny's. We tried to order omelets and were told they weren't doing those today because they were shorthanded. We were there an hour and still didn't have our food. We were told there were still five tickets ahead of ours. They charged me for my hot tea and we left. Staffing is causing major issues and loss of revenue for your store. read more

Great service, great breakfast food and prices. The owner Joe is a super guy and is concerned about his customers and it shows. The place is very clean. read more

Denny's - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Lansing, Michigan

One of the best experiences I've ever had at a Denny's. The food came really quick and was solid. Usually when I order a Grand Slam, there's something off about it, but here, the eggs were tasty, pancakes fluffy, bacon crispy, and hash browns flaky and delicious. What really sealed the deal was my waitress. I can't recall her name, but one of the sweetest ladies I've had the privilege of having serve me. I hope you guys keep your superstar service because I think it makes this Denny's more special than any I've ever been to. Always refilled my water, incredibly attentive, and overall so sweet. read more

5 stars foe being bosses i the litchem & staff was on point thank you again......i will recommend this place to anyone...

We got there this morning and it was alittle busy they sat us at a booth (there was 4 of us) my dad was a bit bigger so we had to switch booths and the servers didn't like it they gave us dirty looks and treated us rude, our food took at least an hour when he brought our food out mine took longer for some reason. He put at stack of pancakes on the table that we didn't order and just left comes back and we were confused and he said it was a mess up and we have to pay for them if we want them. FIRST OFF IT WAS YOUR MESS UP IT HIT THE TABLE SO ITS NOT OUR FAULT WE DONT PAY FOR YOUR MESS UP. It is your job to look at the ticket make sure u get everything right not stuff that isn't ours and make us think it's ours. Secondly the waiter barely checked up on us. Lee was his name I will not go back if he is working and my server. Always something messed up everytime I come to this location. read more

This is the worst restaurant experience I've had in recent memory. The floor was extremely messy, the tables near us were not cleaned up for a good chunk of the time we waited for our food. Speaking of the wait, it took an 75+ minutes to get our food while the restaurant was about half full. The waitress while not "angry", was not very friendly. This started with her telling the hostess "don't sit them there unless you get them drinks". I don't know how it can be possible to mess up Kraft mac n cheese, but they did. The potatoes were inedible because they probably sat too long and got hard. read more

Now that Denny's has been trying to reinvent itself as classy & healthy-ish, it's actually decent to come to. The food has some variety other than the basic food groups of greasy/sticky/salty/gooey, & the lack of smoking is a plus as well. Decent place to go if you need to study late at night (although bring headphones) or just want someplace to congregate (the waitstaff is usually good about letting you linger provided you toss them a couple extra dollars). Definitely a lot better than it used to be. read more

I wish I would have listened to the other Yelp reviews of this place before stopping. We were in the mood for "moons over my hammy" for breakfast so decided to make a quick stop here while traveling. We were seated after a short wait, so far so good. Our wait to get drink orders taken, about 7-8 minutes, which was a little annoying. Another 15 minutes before our order was taken, now more annoyed. Another 10-12 minutes for food to arrive, full fledged annoyed! The food was just okay; I was not expecting fine dining, it is a Denny's after all...but the wait to be served was disappointing. There were only about 5 - 6 tables seated so I just don't understand. Only two servers and a hostess or manager that I could see. I'm not likely to return. Sorry Denny's. My last order of "moons" from you! read more

Walked in with 8 people and 2 high chairs. Hostess did her best, but painfully conveyed it would be awhile. Meanwhile while standing there, we were barked at by people moving through from all directions (employees), hollared at by what I feared was the manager(?)....had everyone checked in....all the while someone at the register was yelling asking if anyone needed to pay??? Chaos does not begin to cover it. Never been busy at 1030 on a Saturday morning? Decided not to stick around and see how the cook took his aggressions out on us. read more

The wait staff is mediocre at best. The menu is your standard Denny's corporate menu. The coffee is pretty crappy and you're lucky if you get refilled before you run out. I guess the only thing they have going for them is that their wifi is more reliable than certain other diners in town and they're open 24/7. I'm shocked at how few all night places there are in Lansing. Oh, and I've never gotten food poisoning from eating here... so... I guess thats a plus.... read more

We keep trying to give Denny's a chance and Everytime we go the service gets worse. Our server tonight was Mary m she was not a good server she acted like we were an inconvenience she was short never came back to the table to ask if out food was okay which it was not my boyfriends hash browns were in fact cold and it took us asking another server for help to get her to come ask us anything which she still didn't ask us if everything was okay just gave us our bill and our box and walked away. Maybe change how your servers do things because I will never go back again read more

Here we are again 3 years since we have been to this Denny's and since my last review. Wife and I both ordered the Apple & Cranberry salad. (Cranberries aren't just listed as an ingredient, it's actually called "Apple & Cranberry" in large print.) They were actually pretty good although they would have been much better if they would have put the cranberries on/in them. I called the waiter over and asked him wouldn't it make sense to put cranberries on their Apple & Cranberry salad. He had to look it up in the menu to check it. They took 10% off bill. read more

The only reason why I'm giving a Denny's 4 stars is because the cook knows what EXTRA mayo means. In all my travels & eateries, no one has splurged as much mayo on a burger. Besides that, it was the typical Denny's, even our waitress couldn't of fit any better, she was made to work there. Thank you cook at Denny's for making my mayo dreams come true. read more

So I ordered sausage links and I got home and they looked like they put them in the microwave because they were still raw.

Worst service I've ever had. Came in with a table of 12. Most of us waited well over a hour for our food and quite a few were wrong and had to be sent back. Girl in the kitchen was seen multiple times itching her head then touching food. Not only that but she was back there running her mouth and having a attitude. Our server was beyond phenomenal and very apologetic. Manager did comp us. People next to us found metal in their child's pancakes. Will never go back! read more

Great place for speedy wireless, food, and coffee without feeling pressured. They have a plug almost at every table for power!! Whether it is studying or hammering out some emails for work, I like Dennys. It's pretty low key too so you can get things done without getting distracted. read more

The hostest Lee made our experience rather uncomfortable and unenjoyable. He came over to our table after a few minutes to take our drink order because our waitress wasn't available. I made the joke of saying "clearly she's not here" in a joking manor and my guest and I laughed. He then proceeded to get defensive and become standoffish. Not understanding that it was a joke, took our drink order and walked away. Came back with our drinks and said he was getting us another waitress. When she came over she herself did not understand what happened and my guest then explained it to her. The waitress, who was acting a little out of the ordinary then told us that she would make Lee come over to apologize, he never did. It made out dining experience awkward to the point of almost leaving. On top of that the food we received was not the best. Our sausage was burned and dried out, toast not toasted, an extremely overwhelming amount of powdered sugar on french toast and a sticky table. We were too embarrassed to inform them of the terrible food. We are as much as we could, paid our bill and tipped well then left. The waitress then ran outside in the rain to hold up a small piece of paper that she wrote on saying sorry. The meal as well as the atmosphere was just not well and full of discomfort. Probably not returning to this location again. read more

I have complained about the music that plays too loud. They said they would turn it down when I have complained before. We had breakfast there this morning and the music was too loud and not relaxing at all. Who wants to listen to music that is so disturbing they can not enjoy their food? The breakfast is very good and the servings are a good size. read more

Says wait to be seated... and no one came to seat us so we seated ourselves after 6 minutes. She never checked to see how our food was. And never brought us our bill. I know we are here late but it's 24 hours so it shouldn't matter! Food was pretty good though. read more

So pissed lemme just say if you come in after midnight your food is perfect if you come in the day it sucks the chef who ever can't cook period! First off, the positives. There really was only one good thing about this Denny's, and it's that the bathroom was quite nice. It is the sole reason I did not give this Denny's one star. It had good elevator music and was very spacious. As I went in this room first, I had a good first impression. But that was soon changed. First off, I ordered an ice water before my meal, and the water took 25 minutes to arrive. Others who ordered milkshakes after me received them first. Second, a friend of mine who ordered an omelette found a hair in it. Third, another friend who wishes to remain anonymous found the ham in the Lumberjack Slam, I quote "repulsive." And even worse, another friend who has low self esteem said "thank you" to the waitress and was left unanswered and, by extent, unappreciated as a customer. He proceeded to cry all the way back to the hotel. And finally, as the icing on the cake, my partner (in tennis) had food poisoning the day after, which we believe may be linked to the French Toast Slam he described as "undercooked." Various members involved also claimed that there was not enough butter for their pancakes. In summary, please go to the Buffalo Wild Wings on the same street. read more

I was blown away. We went for my friends birthday for lunch and he got a free grand slam. Ben our server was awesome with my 8 year old son. Ben engaged my son in conversation while taking us to our table and then helped my son make a selection of food and drinks by asking him questions and providing suggestions. In addition to the fantastic treatment we got a ton of delicious food at a bargain price. Awesome experience! read more

Worst Dennys i have ever been to. Waited an hour for our meal and all we had was an omlet and skillet. The taste was awful. Service was very bad. Even at a point that waitress was making excuses. The only thing i will say is general manager listened and took half off bill. read more

Called in a to-go order. When I got home, it was the wrong order. When I returned, the woman who waited on me previously looked at the receipt and said it was what I ordered. Yes, what was on the receipt was correct, but it didn't match the order she gave me. When she asked the man sitting and waiting what he ordered, it was what she had given me. She took the bag, handed it to him and walked away, no apology, no nothin'. Wish I had asked for my tip back. Fortunately, another employee got me the correct order which had been sitting in the kitchen and apologized profusely. read more

We have waited one hour since walking in the door. We knew exactly what we wanted to order, the wild salmon at $10.99 because we've had it at a Denny's in Illinois. We have watched people who came in after us receiving their order, eating, leaving. We were just informed the reason for long wait is salmon is frozen. Hum. I just dropped to one star. Finally received order. We could not believe the salmon was extremely dry, no flavor. Left in microwave too long to take that over half hour to thaw it? Also, had to accept the side of 12 pcs of thinly sliced, shriveled zucchini far later after receiving piece of dried out salmon. Waitress apologized for the extreme wait and then the food that was served us. We stayed very civil, left her a tip, as not her fault. We are inconvenienced having 200 miles to travel yet tonight. Could've over looked the long delay if food would've been properly prepared, enjoyed at this Denny's in Lansing, MI. No one offered to give discount, so Denny's has our money and we will never take another chance eating at a Denny's. read more

Horrible service, dirty, would never eat there again even if it were the last place to eat out at.... this dennys is a joke. You last time I went it took 10 min to get seated and 15 more to get water I have diabetes and needed some thing to bring my level up so I asked for an orange juice and it came out with what looked like snot on the glass... I walked out and went to the nearby gas station to get some thing to eat. This is one of the dirtiest places to eat in lansing and this is just one of the three chances I gave them. Oh and don't hold your breath if you want good service the servers and hosts chat with each other 24-7 witch to them is way more important then there jobs so you get your service when there done with there conversations.... read more

If you get a to go order, check it first before you leave. I do not think they have ever fulfilled the order with all of the food in our to go orders. They forgot my pie tonight. I eat at a lot of Denny's and this one has to be a the bottom. Seated ourselves because no one came up front. Finally got our drink orders, water and sweet tea about ten minutes later. Sorry! They weren't even busy! I stood for several minutes as waitresses walked past me, not acknowledging my presence. One of them finally said "oh, are you waiting to be seated?" Uh, no, I just like hanging out here by your sign that says PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED. The waitress seemed completely incompetent. I asked for coffee with water & YES to cream, she comes back with a coffee & nothing else. I sat for nearly 10 minutes & watched an elderly couple standing where I once was waiting to be seated. They too began to grumble about the seemingly unnecessary wait. When I finally got the disappearing waitresses attention to get cream, she quickly disappears again. Completely ignores my table. I never got my water she never came back to take my order. So I threw $2.25 on the table told them that was for the crappy coffee & their service is crappy and I'm out! I was there for almost 30 minutes. All I got was a crappy coffee & poor service. Won't be going back read more
