The service is amazing and the food is always good. The restaurant is good for groups. It's a nice place to go for a date night. The original Olga plus meal is a good value at $12.79 for a salad, seasoned fries, and the original Olga which to me is like a special kind of gyro. Don't show up at 2 pm though- they are busy. I had over a 10 minute wait at the counter. On the positive side, this means that they are getting the business that they need to stay open. So next year for my next review- we will be able to see what the salads and bowls category will look like. I come out here every year or two for a review. Our extended family have been loyal customers of this restaurant chain for over 30 years. We have been repeat customers, routinely and periodically, through the years. However, our most recent visit had been disappointing on many levels, particularly affecting the quality of the food and the patron's enjoyment and experience. The main issue is with the recent downgrade of the Olga wrap quality, namely that the thickness and taste had changed to now resemble a dried-out, tortilla-thin tasteless shell instead of the traditional, exceptionally-tasteful and most delicious thick-breaded wrap that we had each expected during our regular visits. As a result of this most recent visit, our family will now be taking an extended break from this hometown chain restaurant, allowing them ample time to determine whether the owner's value their customers satisfaction or the almighty buck which seems to be their most recent direction???? read more

In the mood for Greek food? Give Olga's Kitchen a try! My husband and I both love the Original Olga. I think I tried other entrees before but always go back to the Original. He gets the Original Olga Plus Meal, while I order Olga's Perfect Trio Meal with the Cream of Broccoli Soup and seasoned curly fries. It is just the right size for me. I cannot eat an Olga or curly fries without a mix of garlic seasoning and ketchup. The seasoned fries are absolutely delicious, but I need that extra garlic/ketchup boost. Of course, we top everything off by splitting an Olga Bread Pudding (chocolate flavor is the only way to go!). If you haven't tried Olga's, their bread is fantastic when it's warm and soft. The kids' meals were my children's favorites. I still enjoy a Kid's Hot Dog or Kid's Three Cheese Olga once in a while. Try it! read more

Stopped in for a noon Sunday family lunch. Had to wait for a little bit and it was easy to see they were busy. Megan was our server and she was very pleasant. The meal was ok but this review is more about my Olga and not about the rest of the meals. I order one of two things at any Olga's I go to. Peasant soup and salad OR the Olga's perfect trio. Today I went off script and tried something new. The Chicken Shawarma Olga. Sounded good even though the description could mean a little spicy. It was supposed to arrive with pickled onions, garlic Olga's sauce, McClure's sweet and spicy pickles , and the smoke seasoned chicken. I got 2 pickles, regular onions, and a spot of sauce, and the chicken. Now Megan was already a bit flustered and I know she did not make my sandwich but I am pretty sure this wasn't what the creative gods had in mind. Management apologized and that was the end of it. After over an hr of waiting for a simple order of 3 Olga's and 2 bowls, our order was still not received. I went to the front to ask our waitress what was going on. She gave me a nasty look and told me she was doing the best that she could. We were the only ones in the entire restaurant!!! She offered no apology whatsoever. Table for 12 please! They sat us in the back room. It was a bit chilly but nothing a hot cup of tea wouldn't fix. Our waitress was fabulous too. She was very attentive with drinks and food. Four of us showed up a bit early to prep them for our party. We ordered apps first to snack on. We had cheese balls and spinach dip with pita breads. Yummy. OMG, my fav fast food. I've been eating Olga's originals since the mid-1970s in their first Birmingham Michigan location. I don't live in Michigan anymore so anytime I am in Michigan I know where I'm going to fill my belly. This time with my daughter with me she got to enjoy an original Olga's and now she's addicted also. I used to love the salad but it's a little different now that it's not chopped more, But the dressing still is the same delicious dressing from years ago. This review is based on a takeout order. We ordered two full size Olga salads, one with chicken and one with gyro meat. The portion is comical for $10 each. It is a big bowl of iceberg lettuce with virtually no toppings. The chicken which was in a separate container is a very small child's portion. The gyro meat had an old rancid taste to it like it's sat around forever. We also got the snackers with cheese. The cheese is the smallest little round ball of cheese I've ever seen. Like the smallest melon baller scoop you could make. It's enough for about 3 snackers. This feels like a rip off, even during Covid time. Will not be back again for this quality and value. You can go anyplace else in town and get a far better salad with more toppings and more meat for the price. read more

We were picking up a puppy about a 1/2 hour away & I was not about to miss an opportunity to get Olga's. It's been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Growing up in the St. Louis area we had them in our local malls. Now that I'm in Chicagoland I have to do without. I called in advance to order since we had the dog in the car. She asked if they could bring it out to me. What? "We have curbside," she responded. Perfect!!! We didn't even have to go in for pick-up. When we got there we were surprised to find that this wasn't a typical mall Olga's, but instead a stand alone restaurant within a strip mall. We pulled into the take-out parking spot & they promptly brought our order to the window. Awesome! Very friendly. The food was made as we ordered it & just as yummy as always. We had been wanting to try this place when in town for quite a while. Apparently they have this thing they call an Olga which is a cross between a pita and a pancake. There was some confusion because we ordered a starter basket of "best bread on the planet" which turned out to be just the Olga pitas with no butter or hummus. We ordered the soup which comes with "Snacker" which are just Olga chips with something on them. Both the Olga bread and chips were almost tasteless. I brought some home just to verify it wasn't me. I finally figured out the thing they call the original Olga is a gyro. It was disappointing. The meat is from a slicer machine and not carved like it says. (yes there is a difference). We must have waited 20+ minutes on a DEAD night to be seated. No one was at the host stand to greet and the person at the take out counter would avoid eye contact with waiting and confused patrons and just claimed it's not her job to handle host. No one's asking you to handle the host stand, maybe just flag down a manager or server? Servers seemed to be socializing at the expo most of the night. After being seated in a dead dining room our server was on point. Jumped right away to get us waters and grabbed our order. BUT after our lack luster chicken sandwich hit the table, she was gone gone. Food wise. Oh lord. Ordered hummus and bread. Hummus was clearly scooped out of a cold container and plopped on a dish. Chunky and dry. the bread coming out warm was the only upside. The sandwich was just sad. So so sad. Crispy chicken sandwich was abysmal and so unappetizing covered head to toe in too much sauce and onions. I looked at my husband and begged to just leave and get a chicken finger pita at Leo's. Thank god we finally just scarfed down what we could after scraping the sandwich sauce off and grabbing the bill as soon as we could. I'm very underwhelmed by Olga's. I've given them 2 chances. The only good thing are the fries when they actually come out hot. The Olga's are small and bland. The pasta salad is BLAND. The broccoli and cheese soup is decent but BLAND. The hummus is borderline tasteless. The to-go curbside is nice and the two people who have helped me are super nice if that helps. This place was packed! We love Olga's but visit usually as just a treat. We got the zucchini snacks and I got the olga salad with lamb and beef. It was so delicious! And guilt free. Which left me thinking we could split a bread pudding. I ate that so fast I can't remember how it tasted but it must have been good. My friend had the chicken olga with soup. No complaints. A table the hostess was going to seat us at was dirty. I mentioned it and she wiped it with the menu. Lol. Then she sat us in a small booth. The railing or divider next to it was very dusty. I've been to this restaurant about 10 times, and have suffered the same experience every time. It has the worst service in the greater Lansing area that I know of. It's so slow! And you know that's saying something while delucas is still in business. But while delucas has pizza that is renowned in the area, Olga's serves what is basically glorified "fast" food. read more

Haven't eaten at Olga's for over 20 years, but I remember loving it as a kid, so when I was in the Frandor area, I stopped in and wanted to see if the food was still as good as I remembered. Maybe it was because I was a child and had a small appetite, but I thought the food was more filling back then... my original olga, with beef and lamb was kinda small. The chicken schwarma was not that good, also small, and had an over powering curry taste to it. The snackers with spinach and feta dip was the best part of the meal. I made my first visit to Olga's tonight and I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved my Original Olga. The meat was deliciously seasoned and tender. The sauce was just the right amount of tang and zest to compliment the meat. The fries were just ok in my opinion, and I wasn't crazy about the hummus, but the pita chips and salads weren't bad. I liked the quinoa salad more than the pasta, and thought it was unique that it they both were served over lettuce. I felt the price was a little high, but that is seeming to be a trend lately. A couple sandwiches and fries used to be a reasonably priced dinner, and my order of two Olga wraps, two orders of fries, two side salads, and an appetizer was $34.00 after tip. I'll probably go back for a wrap, but will likely hold the sides. read more

After a long day at work I didn't feel like cooking so I decided to order delivery from good ol' Olga's. I decided to get something light just a salad and a bowl of soup for my dinner. The ordering and delivery process was easy peasy but until I got my food that's when things went to a turn. My Olga's salad was fine but until I started eating my soup I got surprised with something in my soup. There was a mysterious HUGE chunk of something I couldn't figure out for the longest. It was absolutely disgusting. I don't see how someone did not notice throwing that in my bowl. Ultimately I had to throw the whole soup away. read more

I've been coming to Olga's since I was a little kid. Back in the day, there was a location on Grand River, a counter in the Meridian Mall, and a sit-down location in the Lansing mall. I don't live in East Lansing anymore, but Olga's is always one of the first stops when I come to visit. I've never explored much of the menu beyond the snackers, salad, and 3-cheese Olga -- I'm sure everything else is good, I just know what I like and it rarely disappoints! Recently I was in town, and stopped in with my family for dinner. The food was especially on point that evening, we all agreed. This location is currently under construction for renovations. They close at 9, and we were pretty much finished up by then -- just needed to pay our bill. At about 10 after 9, someone working on the construction started *very* loudly pulling out/hammering nails (or something?) from the booths a few seats away from us. I mean, it was LOUD. I understand that technically they were closed, and we were lingering a bit (we left at 9:15), but I wish they would have waited a few minutes before starting that noisy of a project until after we had left. As we were leaving, I noticed people were still stopping by to pick-up curbside orders too, so it's not as if we were the only patrons keeping them there. Not a deal breaker -- still 5 stars from me, but a bit of a buzz kill after a nice meal, which may have been one of the last times I'll ever get to visit an Olga's (my family is moving out of the area, and they don't have any locations out here on the West coast!). read more
