    Everything tasted great!

Highly recommend this Denny's. The restaurant was very clean with plenty of seating. I believe it has been renovated with new tables, very nicely done. The food was excellent, and service was great. Waitress Yoselin was polite, courteous, and attentive. Cooks Anthonio and Santos did a superb job on the food, it was exactly the way I ordered, it came out hot, fresh and hit the spot! I am making this my favorite go-to place for breakfast!

I guess they said they weren't going to cook my burger!

This burger was a waste of money! Why can't we ever cook the burgers all the way through?

WYSIWYG.  The exterior foretells the interior.  Both are tasteful and clean for this genre of eatery.

A Denny's typically starts out with an automatic 3 stars, given the reliable boilerplate experience. If a Denny's were to get a little less than that, it would be because it's one of those stores that is unkempt and/or the service is sullen. That's not the case at the Kingwood location, a faction of Houston proper some 23 miles northeast that prefers to go by its more popular name of Kingwood. This Kingwood restaurant is a 4 star Denny's. It's one of the nicer stores I've been to. I look at some of the other reviews with a slight amount of bewilderment. What could have possibly gone that sideways? That might have been other patrons' experiences, but it certainly wasn't mine. I knew from the get go that the experience at this Denny's would play out well. As you approach it, the store is tidy and nicely maintained. The way some things are decked out inside indicates it may have undergone some modernization. The service was quick and friendly, and I got to sit where I liked ... and I was eyeing those semicircular booths in the center. The food, breakfast prior to IAH, was good. It was one of those "build your own Slam" 4 item set ups, and I took it a step further by adding some hash browns. They have this dialed, given that Slams are much requested breakfast platters, meaning they are served quickly and served hot. I liked everything on the platter, but especially liked the earthy-crunchy 9 grain pancakes. And, true to Denny's form from sea to shining sea, the presentation is consistent and the prices are fair. I'll say a few other things very quickly. First, this Denny's sits on the frontage road of US 59, the Eastex Freeway. So does the one in Humble, which is actually a few ramps south and closer to IAH airport. From a perusal of their exteriors, I chose to go to this one because I got a better vibe from it. I was glad I made that choice. Then, while breakfasts at Denny's are reliable and have that uniform taste, take note that Denny's does some dinner platters quite well. I'm referring to pot roast, turkey, salmon, and chicken dishes. While it's not currently on their menu, they have featured a chicken Mediterranean, put together with feta cheese and sundried tomatoes, that is much tastier than you'd expect and works well with rice and broccoli, or other sides. Even if this rendition is not available, a good chicken dish is usually on the dinner menu. It's just that that morning, the timing and taste buds called for breakfast food and I was not disappointed. Keep up the good work, Denny's Kingwood, sitting there nestled among stands of East Texas pine.

We drove about an hour to get there and it was very well worth it. The restaurant is in a plaza with other stores and restaurants so there's plenty of parking right out front. We had a 20 minute wait we ended up sitting outside which was a nice covered spot. We ordered the truffle fries, firecracker shrimp with a side of grits & beignets to start off. The girls are called creamy dreamy and they absolutely live up to their name. The best grits ever! Super creamy and cheesy. The firecracker shrimp was tasteful and savory and we loved the truffle fries. We also ordered a biscuit bc the place is called the flying biscuit how could we not? Our server Susana was amazing super sweet and accommodating she gave us great recommendations and I'm so glad to have come across her! She definitely added to our experience The restaurant itself was super cute and colorful i loved the paintings on the wall and i should mention that the bathroom was super cute! I'm so glad we went to the flying biscuit I'd definitely go again next time I'm in town!

We try to support local Kingwood are restaurants and hadn't been to Union Kitchen in quite a while. We arrived and asked for a table for 6, the dining room was busy so they said it would be a few minutes. Then 3 more of our group we hadn't expected arrived and the hostess quickly let the servers know to make our table larger. We only had to wait 8 or 9 minutes and were seated in the side dining room which was great as it was not crowded so it was easy to talk without a lot of ambient noise from the more crowded main room. I believe one of the assistant managers began taking drink orders as our designated server was finishing up some tables nearby. She had a great sense of humor and quickly went to get our drinks. FYI, they have both an All Day menu and a lunch special one which we hadn't seen before a their website so that is an option and is a bit less expensive with smaller servings than the All Day one. As it was April 15, they had a special small Tax Day menu where everything was prices at $4.15! What a cute idea! We all ordered our lunches and soon we were enjoying what was brought out. I had the special lentil soup and the blackened salmon tacos, my wife had the 1/2 lb classic burger and the house made potato chips. Everything was excellent. Glad we stopped by for our group lunch.

We saw it online and loved the vast menu selection so we thought we'd give it a try. From the exterior, it doesn't look like much almost looks like you could be walking into a craft store or a boot barn cause it's just in a shopping mall strip center. But once you enter inside, the dark wood, the wine bottles, the lighting all creates a very nice ambience of an upscale restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We were just grabbing a bite to eat before a movie and this place turned out to be much nicer than me. I previously anticipated. We decided to order off of the Happy Hour menu so that we could try several things. We got the queso dip of course...because, when in Texas...We also got the crabcakes and a cheeseburger with truffle fries. They had some great drink specials, but we got ice tea instead. That was plenty of food for two of us to share. Out of the three items that we ordered off the Happy Hour menu, I would say the cheesburger was the best! The bun was small enough to not be overwhelming and the meat had a very nice barbecue taste. The crabcakes were OK as was the queso. Our waiter gave excellent service! Can't remember his name, but he was tall and I believe had dirty blonde hair. The entire meal was super yummy with excellent service and convenient. Couldn't ask for more. We definitely recommend this place. We wanted to get beignets for dessert, but we were too full to order anything else. Oh and if you go at Happy Hour, even if you're not drinking, everything on the Happy Hour menu is 50% off. Check it out!

Our server did not have much insight on any favorites, choices or menu items, as admittedly "she doesn't eat their food." Perhaps she has a specific diet and hates taking orders. She skipped right over me and took everyone's order before me (males) even though I was speaking to her. I really dislike when someone says that as they should know it's not good for business, however I simply take it as they don't like their job or is not sociable. It was the first time for my whole family, as we've skipped it many times for its parking lot neighbor--cheddars. (Please keep doing that). Black Bear Diner is a mediocre, moderately priced, cookie cutter dining experience for breakfast and lunch. It has a large menu of mostly same named breakfast/dinner all day menu kind of set up. Food comes fast, pancakes apparently come with no butter. The blackberry lemonade was enjoyed by my family (it is VERY sweet and I don't enjoy sugar), the pancakes portion to bacon ratio is poor, the white cheddar bacon mac n cheese has the same skimpy bacon ratio; is very forgettable and may have the same supplier as Panera bread's Mac in a bag. Now the star of the show, the bear sized chicken fried steak, is normal sized. I inquired if I'd gotten normal by mistake and was told the normal portion was about the size of a (tiny woman shaped hands in a circle demonstration--about this big). The giant steak is how we landed there in the first place--I've been wanting to try it forever. However, that's the takeaway. I wanted it, I tried it, I do not crave it and won't be going again. We really wished we'd ate at home that morning. This is not a get out of bed or a desired dining experience. In fact, I found it annoying to wait in line to pay for something you are in a hurry to get away from. They bussed us out of there while I was still picking at the burnt hash browns and something tells me that black bear makes its money just before cheddars opens at 11. Sleep in and skip this place, especially if you're hungry as a bear

When we arrived, First Watch looked pretty busy, but we were pleasantly surprised that we were seated right away. The hostess was very kind and welcoming, and our waiter was just as nice... cordial, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit. The service was definitely one of the highlights. For food, we both ordered the Trifecta. I chose the waffle with potatoes instead of eggs, along with their chicken sausage patty, and I added a side salad with mixed greens and a lemon herb dressing. I also added a side of chicken. Initially, I thought the chicken breast would be about $2.50, but before placing the order our waiter came back and clarified that it would be about $5 and would come as strips instead of a full chicken breast. I appreciated him coming back to correct that. When the chicken came out, it was sliced into very thin pieces and was a little lukewarm. I mentioned it to the waiter, and he apologized and handled it professionally by removing it from the bill, which I appreciated. Overall, the food was okay, about a 3.5 out of 5 for me. The waffle was tasty, just as I remembered, and the potatoes were good as well. However, the chicken sausage patty wasn't very good. I personally didn't enjoy it and ended up leaving it on the plate. My husband ordered the pancake with pecans, scrambled eggs, and a side of grits with butter, and he enjoyed his meal. One thing I did like was that you can now pay your bill directly from your phone, which makes it really convenient when you're ready to go without waiting. Overall, the big win here was the service and hospitality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient, and we appreciated being seated quickly even when it seemed busy.
