The food is always great here! I've never had a bad server either. The chips and queso are delicious and the decor/ambiance is super cozy. My only gripe is a bit of a unique one. I had a job interview there and the interviewer was so rude I almost considered never giving this place my business again. When I met her she was late to the interview, had a McDonald's drink, she accused me of a criminal history because she had the wrong application (and didn't believe me when I told her I didn't have a criminal record), and told me my clothes were unprofessional. I came in wearing the same stuff the servers wear to a T . Then she acted like she was doing me a favor by scheduling me another interview, but told me she'd be "too tired for 11 am so let's do noon". When I showed up at noon the next day she wasn't even there. I know it's a weird complaint but again I almost am considering never giving my business to this place again if that's the standard the owners of this place are okay with. Went for brunch and where to begin? Staff was friendly and welcoming. They even asked if I had gone before which I didn't so they gave me 2 mini tacos. Meat was good but tortillas de harina needed a bit extra cook time. The place was so dark it was hard to see the menu even though it was around midday. Miche wasn't good but I believe in I paid for it I'm finishing it. Food was average at best nothing that makes you say "Oh yeah Lupe's has the best...." Was expecting more way more since prices ain't cheap. Oh and for some odd reason they don't have salt on the table. Server was training a server. She did an excellent job of answering questions. Everything was perfect. The Queso was yummy and they were not stingy with the jalapeños. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered a margarita and michelada. The margarita was better than the michelada. It was horrible. I don't know if it was the michelada mix they use or the bar tender mixing it. It was so bland and the color wasn't appealing. I've had better micheladas at Gringos. We ordered the 1lb mixed chicken and beef fajitas for 2, which will cost you $52. The food was just as bland and terrible. The beef fajita was overcooked and had a weird texture. Everything was just bland and off color. The rice was flavorless and looked more like white rice and wild rice mixed together. The frijoles were clumped up and not appetizing at all. Just looked like a huge clump of beans in a bowl with absolutely no flavor. The bartender Nick was good so the service was about the only thing up to par. Overall, not worth the $90 we ended up spending for 2 drinks and fajitas for 2. We should've just ended up going to Pappasito's just a bit further away. Our quest for authentic Mexican food has brought us to Lupe Tortilla! Our first visit there, we told the waitress it was our first time. The chef came out about 10 minutes after us sitting down to say hello, welcome and offered a yummy amuse bouche to us! It and everything we had after that was amazing! Tonight we were dining at Lupe Tortilla in Atascocita and were having a very pleasant evening. The general manager had just stopped by our table to check on us. Immediately afterward, someone who was not our waiter brought us the check, and we were never offered dessert. We actually wanted sopapillas but were not able to order any because the ticket was dropped on our table without asking if we needed anything else. It felt rushed...almost as if we were being asked to leave. We paid and left right away, even though we weren't finished enjoying our time there. We did locate the manager to share our concern. While he apologized, he did nothing to remedy the situation. We told him that we would be submitting a complaint, leaving a bad review, and not returning. His only response was, "OK." I've been to several locations of Lupe Tortillas throughout the years, and I've always had a solid experience. With its large menu covering all your Texmex needs, Lupe Tortilla is sure to satisfy. I'm not a huge fan of Texmex in general, but I do love me some fajitas! I was having a craving for them, and Lupe Tortilla came up as an option. I remember really enjoying their fajitas. The interior was fun with a bit of a cabana vibe and loud music playing. The waitress was nice but a little hard to hear between her soft voice and the loud music. We went with the chicken and steak fajitas with both flour and corn tortillas. Their tortillas are made in house, and I do love me some some fresh tortillas. The fajitas arrived with all the fixings and the largest diameter flour tortillas I have ever seen. They were burrito sized. Making tacos with the tortilla is how I roll, so I had to improvise and tear off pieces. The flour tortilla was thin and stretchy like I enjoy. The corn tortilla was just okay. Both meats were cooked well, but the beef was much tastier in terms of flavor. Ended the meal with a deliciously sweet flan that could have been bigger. My mom wanted to go to Lupe Tortillas for her bday lunch. We were greeted promptly and taken to our table. The table was in a comfortable spot and nice and clean. It was a tad too dark for lunch for my liking, but not an issue. Our server came by a few minutes later with menus and chips/salsa. Everything here is amazing except the prices. The portion size and price ratio doesn't work for me but the flavor of the food is awesome. Service is interesting as the manager comes around often but doesn't really do anything if you don't like what you got. True authentic cuisine, ask questions if you are unsure of what a menu item is--even if it's an enchilada, taco or something seemingly simple. Fajitas are amazing! An interesting touch is allowing you samples of something if it is your first time so you can confidently order what you hoped for because it will cost you! I felt for two people my bill was bigger than I'd hoped for but they were open during the blackout and that is how we ended up trying a restaurant that has been here forever but never temped us to try it based on its modest exterior in a heavily trafficked restaurant row. I never leave reviews but today's experience was horrible. We came in and asked for a table that was empty and was told by the hostess we had to sit at another table. A few minutes later the same hostess sat someone at the table we had requested. We asked for the manager and he listened and said what do you want me to do? Ridiculous question! Also it took 30 minutes to get a taco plate and a bowl of quesp. Not a place I will ever visit again. Also wouldn't recommend for a work lunch because they are so slow. Second time going to Lupe Tortilla and I enjoyed both visits! The salsa is on the spicy side, so if you prefer milder salsas keep that in mind while looking for a Mexican restaurant to go to. The taco salad with the creamy poblano dressing is my favorite taco salad I've ever had. The chicken flautas were just okay in my opinion, they were kind of dry on the inside so you really need to utilize the queso, sour cream, and guacamole that comes with it. I've been passing back-and-forth by the Lupe Tortilla restaurant for months on 1960. Every time I pass by no matter if it's lunch, afternoon or night the parking lot seems nearly full. Given the enormous amount of Tex-Mex restaurants in this area I figured the popularity had to be driven by either free liquor or absolutely cheap food. So instead of speculating, I decided to go in and try. The decor is very upbeat and entertaining. We found the menu to be as broad-based as any Tex-Mex restaurant in this area. I tried the combination plate that included a little bit of everything and I found all of it delicious. The beef enchilada was rich and delicious, The tamale was flavorful with real meat inside. The rice was surprisingly moist. Can't recall having rice where it was so moist and almost begged to be eaten by itself. Ultimately the prices are a little higher than in the past but that is the post Covid world we live in. I found the experience worth coming back again. Now I think I better understand why there's always a crowd in the parking lot read more

When my parents visit, they always want to eat Mexican food. Being on a low-carb program makes finding a place extremely difficult. Fortunately, Lupe Tortilla has several options for those watching carbs. My husband and I love the salmon, mahi mahi, and chicken Lupe Del Mar (I get the seasonal veggies instead of rice with those dishes). The seasoning has some bite, but it is so, so good. If you order the salmon, be ready to wait a good while until it's ready. It is absolutely worth the wait. Our food is always hot and fresh, and the service is excellent. They run an incredible takeout program as well. There's almost always a wait after 4:30 on a Friday, but you can wait in your car until your table is ready. Missing dinners, no chips with either the table side guacamole or the queso. Specifically asked for no tomatoes in taco salad and table side guacamole due to food allergy, tomatoes in both. So she can't eat either (even if we pick them out, just the tomato juice will cause a reaction) Meat in the $23 Tacos Al Carbon plate, barely enough for one taco. If only this was the first time.
