Came in with my husband who raves about this place. It was located in the back of a strip mall and you would never see it from the street. The owner welcomed us in and explained all the food he had available. I got shredded beef with white rice, beans and sweet plantains. I also ordered an arepa filled with cheese. As good as the other reviews have said. We were in the Humble area yesterday, and this restaurant came up as a suggestion. I like other South American food, so we said "Let's go." I had the shredded beef with rice and black beans, which came with a fried arepa and plantains. Everything was so good! I also had a bite of my mate's Cuban sandwich, which I think I will have next time. The owners are friendly and welcome, even to gringos who aren't sure what they want to eat. my first time visiting this site. They ordered 2 arepas, shredded meat and pavilion. The taste is good, but I can't. The very small stalls had almost no meat as you could see in the photo. Small place that serves all of the Venezuelan specialties including arepas, cachapas, tequenos, pepitos, patacones, etc. There is a line you order from which can be long and you can either get your food to go, or sit at one of the 7 tables. Either way, you will incur a 5-10 minute wait, at the minimum. If you happen to order something at the steam table, you can usually get in and out quickly. Breakfast is from 8-11am, and entrees range from $7-9. Lunch specials are from 11-230. They even have a kids menu. Paella only on fridays. If you're not in the mood for Venezuelan food, they also serve mexican foods such as tacos, quesadillas, tortas and burritos. I ordered a cachapa with shredded beef and Venezuelan cheese and a sugar cane drink. It was very delicious, and tasted even better with their green and red hot sauces poured all over it. You have the option to select your meal from the menu on the wall to your left/menu items featured on signs hanging from the ceiling, or just look at the options on the steam table. Had no idea this place was here. Came across it on DoorDash early this week. It's so yummy I had their food 3 times this week for lunch and dragged my big group of coworkers over today. They loved it too. Our Venezuelan coworker certified it's authentic and very good. I personally love the shredded meats (chicken and beef). Beef stew is like grandma made it. Black beans are super yummy, as are the plantains and arepas. Not to mention the Friday special Paella. Everything I've had so far is super tasty, seasoned just right. I'm gonna try a lot more here in the future. This place is definitely in our regular Friday lunch rotation now. People are super nice and I'm looking forward giving them more business.
