My brother and I stopped in for carryout breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning. Alas, they didn't have brisket breakfast tacos, but had some good alternatives. Their flour tortilla is the choice here, and I believe it is Sonoran style: good enough to just eat by itself. My absolute favorite was the barbacoa ($3.25), very tender stewed beef with added onion and cilantro...not meant to be a breakfast taco I think. The other 3 tacos I tried did have egg. The potato & egg ($3.25) had big chunks of potato and plenty of egg: very filling not particularly tasty. The chorizo and egg ($3.25) was was prepared together, with the small chorizo pieces mixed in with the egg. And the fajita and egg ($4.79) used two slices of skirt steak flavored with fajita flavoring...for my preference, works better in skillet fajitas than in a breakfast taco. They also have menudo on the weekends, and both their corn and flour tortillas are homemade. As mentioned before, the flour tortillas are really good, and the barbacoa is definitely worth a visit.

Our waiter came over shortly after we were seated, and he was excellent throughout the entire visit... very attentive, accommodating, warm, and genuinely caring. I asked if we could have some fried flour tortilla chips, and he took care of that for us right away. Unfortunately there was a. Issue with the chips... there was a hair in them. The waiter was very apologetic and had them remade. Called the manager over and she was also very apologetic and kind.  I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp without light seasoninh, and asked for the shrimp to be lightly seasoned. The salad looked beautiful when it arrived, but unfortunately, the shrimp was extremely spicy, much more than I expected. My daughter even tasted it and agreed that it was very spicy. When we brought it to our waiter's attention, he was incredibly apologetic again and immediately offered to have it remade. The manager also came over and was very kind and accommodating. The replacement shrimp came out without the spicy seasoning, but this time it really didn't have any seasoning at all and it was undercooked. The manager immediately took them back to have them cooked more. I would love to see an option somewhere in between flavorful, seasoned grilled shrimp without so much heat. My daughter ordered a kids meal with a shredded chicken enchilada, and she said her food was really good. Even with the hiccups, what stood out most was how well the staff handled everything. Everyone was kind, professional, and concerned about making sure we were satisfied. They even took care of our meal, which I was not expecting or asking for. We absolutely still left a tip because our waiter provided excellent service and did everything he could to make our experience a good one. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere gave my daughter and me a nice opportunity to spend some quality time together, and the customer service was exceptional. I'll definitely be back because I have always enjoyed coming to Pappasito's. I especially appreciate a restaurant that knows how to handle an issue with kindness and great customer care.
