This rating is based on service. Service was slow slow slow. Then some of our orders were incorrect so some more waiting happened. I don't understand how our order was messed up when the waitress was writing it down. Also, our waitress never came back to check on us, to see if we needed refills or napkins or if our food was okay. On the good side our waitress was pleasant though maybe lacks experience. The place was clean but looking shabby. Our food was okay. Nothing spectacular about it. I suppose it's your typical Denny's style but quite expensive!!! Ooof. Where to begin. Absolutely terrible service. Took over 25 min to get drinks, brought the wrong food to the table to start, when the correct food was brought it was cold. We never got silverware, never got checked on at all during service to see if we needed refills etc. Had to eat food with our fingers. Started eating and found a hair in the food. Employees were arguing, there was a dog in the restaurant that continued to bark. We never got a check, waited and waited, finally went to the front and were not provided a breakdown or receipt, was only told an amount to charge and that amount seemed extremely high. This was our first time stopping by this Dennys. Stopped in on a Saturday mid afternoon and we were literally the only people there. We got seated fairly quickly and the server came to get our order. Everything was doing well until we had to wait a full 20 minutes to get our order of two cheeseburgers with fries. Mind you, we were still the only ones there. The food finally came and the burgers were actually very good and the fries were done right. Again, I was thinking this place is okay until I asked for more water and it took over 5 minutes. Pit stop and quick eat as I headed to Vegas. Right off the 40 I am so glad we decided to stop in. The staff was super friendly. Every server in there was super nice. What a great bunch of ladies who are happy work here. My best friend and I were immediately greeted and seated. Due to great team work as our assigned server Gigi was finishing her break we were approached by another server who took our drink order. This location is disgusting! There is no place here that is not filthy! I should have known from the front door and waiting area. Table was dirty so we asked if we could get it cleaned before we ordered. The waitress said it had just been cleaned but there was all kinds of crumbs which she brushed off with her hand. The menus were sticky and gross. The salt and pepper shakers looked like they had never been cleaned. The bathrooms dirty and every place you looked was dirty in restaurant ! Even the register she touched to ring up on loooked sticky and full of smears! If the whole place is this filthy I don't want to see the cooks or the kitchen ! Just really briefly, I'm still waiting for my breakfast after a decent wait, but I'm not upset and I'm sure it will be fine, since Denny's is pretty consistent nationally. The physical condition of the place is pretty worn down and the bathroom was not in such a good state. This is all because I'm here on a Sunday morning and they are WOEFULLY UNDERSTAFFED. Nonetheless, I'm giving them a 4 star because of the two women holding down the floor on their own. I am just floored by not only their efficiency and industry, but also with their ability to remain cool under all the constant pressure. On top of keeping their composure, they are remaining polite and cheerful in the face of very unfavorable conditions. For my simple breakfast, they are getting an 80% tip from me today because they deserve a damn break! Bless them both! read more

Landed here on a lark headed from Sedona to Grand Canyon to Vegas. So far this is the best dining experience of our trip (including much hyped restaurant in Sedona AZ). Gourmet? Not sure what that means. Clean, friendly, fun, good service: yes indeedy. They were very busy but we were "recognized" ( no avoiding eye contact here) and assured a table was coming up and it did! Homemade root beer (most excellent and ...wait for it...free refills!!!) and worthy vanilla malts. Fun breakfast and lunch menu. AND someone here knows how to run a busy restaurant... orders flowed. Respect for the experience. We might have to come back to Kingman AZ to try the meat loaf! read more

Went here two different times while staying at the hotel next door on a trip. Had two very different experiences. First day: Came in in the afternoon and ordered drinks and ice cream. Any time can be ice cream when I decide it is. And I was so pleased with the service! Two different people came to take our drink orders (hey, that is nice!). Then our server hand crafted the ice cream sundaes for us and was really, really sweet. He was chatty, really made the effort to make us feel good about just ordering some quick dessert. Some places try to get you to order other stuff, or suddenly give crappy service because they feel like you won't tip, not this server (I believe his name was Michael!). He was great and amazing and made me really think "I should stop saying negative things about Denny's). Second day: Came in the morning and there was a completely different experience. The place was packed. The service was very, very slow even to get a drink order in. Ordered some delicious pancakes but it just took forever to get anything out from the kitchen. Didn't get the same experience from our server, who was so busy (not her fault) that she barely stopped rushing around to take our orders. It kind of made me sad, because I'd loved it so much the day before. Pancakes and breakfast were okay (my eggs were cold when they arrived). But nothing that I would necessarily write home about. Overall, kind of in the middle. I won't be rushing to a Denny's again soon unless I know that I can get the same server, and probably only for him to help me get some ice cream sundaes. read more

The friendliness of the staff & the taste of the food deserve 4 stars. The reason for a one star is that the health concerns of the patrons is a one. There's a sign as you come in that all must wear a mask to enter. This was clearly not at enforced. There's a sign posted by Denny's corporate stating all servers would be wearing mask and gloves. Not a single server were wearing gloves. Our trainee was very pleasant and efficient and I as stated had no gloves. The person that was training her wore her mask below her mouth and when she gave us our beverages I could feel her breath on me. This gave me a very unsafe feeling. Sherrie R was our server. She was a trainee but she was awesome! She refilled our beverage without us asking. She came back and checked in us. Only complaint is not all servers had properly fitting masks. One did not have her mouth covered. There was a hand written sign on the door that said all customers must wear a mask. This review is long over due. I just ate at the Dennys across the street from this one last week. I will not step foot in this Dennys. I have lived in Kingman about 3 years. I have tried this Dennys twice. Both times it's was not good. The first issue was the dirty table they sat us at. It wasn't overly busy. We were in last May after a long night of working. I brought my crew in for breakfast. There were 8 of us. After being seated we got menus that had food and other dried sticky things on them. We ordered and the wait time was over 45 minutes. The he order came out in pieces and wrong. By the time the last person's food hit the table three people were finished with their meal. The silverware was dirty and had to be sent back as well. Toast was burnt, the wrong entree was brought. The wait staff argued with us that we ordered what they brought. Well 8 of us heard the same thing and only 1 of you wrote it down/heard incorrectly. Similar experience the first time I was in there with just me and my wife. The place had maybe 5 tables to service during this visit. We weren't checked on after all the food was brought. Our coffee and orange juice ran dry. The water tasted gross. Definitely recommend going to the Denny's in the truck stop across the street if you are wanting to eat at a Dennys. Haven't tried them in over a year but still hearing the same issues from other locals. read more

After too long on the road I walked in grouchy, family in tow. When they told us we needed masks I went to leave and they provided us with covering for us to get to our tables. I felt like a jerk for sure. After we sat each person working here came over to us and made me feel worse by being really awesome to us. These folks went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Our server Luannne was very friendly, and the host Tylor came over to apologize even though I was the one in the wrong. I still hate these mask requirements but I was super impressed by how they handled us. If this Denny's wasn't so far from home we would definitely return. This is my very first time ever writing an online review for a restaurant. Tonight was a very disappointing experience dining at this Dennys in Kingman, AZ. As soon as I came in to the restaurant at about 11:40 pm, February 22, 2016, a waitress saw me and I gestured that I needed a table for one. Without any acknowledgment that I was going to be seated, she continued whatever she was doing. Getting a plate, pouring drink, and then she went to the cash register and got busy printing receipts. It took about 8 minutes. During that time, a customer who just finished eating approached the counter to pay. He noticed that I had been waiting for a while and commented, "They want us to call their attention." She knows I've been waiting here, I replied. The man also had to wait about 2 minutes before being attended by another waitress. And finally, the first waitress was done printing her receipts asked me how many guests. I answered one and she just walked straight to a table without saying anything. I followed and saw her put one set of menus and two on another. I didn't notice there were other guests behind me. Anyway, I just used my common sense and sat at a table for one. The waitress left for like 2 minutes before getting my order for drink. (Coffee and water) She gave me the water first then told me to wait for my coffee. Another 3 minutes went by as she attended to other customers. For some reason, she was the only one attending to all tables of 5 sets of guests including me (as per my observation ). When I got the coffee, she finally took my order. (Sirloin steak- medium to medium rare, with rice and vegetables, plus a slice of French toast) I added creamer and sugar to the coffee. Man, the coffee was almost cold and super bitter to taste. I waited for her to come back to my area and as soon as I called her attention while I was pointing to the coffee, she said, I am brewing a new pot, sweetheart. And I just said, yeah it's cold already. I waited another 10 minutes then my steak came. I am very particular with how my steak is cooked. Due to some wrongly cooked steak experiences, I would usually cut the steak in half to see the inside if my requested temperature was satisfied. To my disappointment, the steak was over cooked, as in no pink at all. (well done) The waitress knew right away I was not happy. She immediately took a plate to have it returned to the kitchen. She said, I'll have another one cooked for you. I don't remember hearing any apology from her. I waited again about 7 minutes and my "try again" steak came. As soon as she placed the plate, she walked away. I cut the steak and it was rare. The meat was like freshly cut out of a cow. I called her and showed the steak. She said, too rare? I said yes. She took the steak back and when she returned, I requested for my check and a box. I did not bother to check the steak. I have lost my appetite. When she gave me the bill, I gave my credit card and did not put any tip because I was so unhappy with the service and food. When she gave me my card back, she just said, have a good night. No apologies for this obviously dissatisfied customer. As I was putting the food in the box, I changed my mind about tipping. I placed $2 on the table and left my receipt (coz I don't want any memory of this bad night) and left the restaurant still hungry. I only ate half of the french toast slice and a cup of coffee. While driving home, I could not help myself but complain in my head. I thought, no, I should do something. I did not deserve feeling I was not valued as a customer. Once I got home, I downloaded Yelp and the rest was history. read more

This Denny's is one of the very best around. With friendly professional service that make you feel welcome and appreciated. I have stopped in here regularly over the years when ever in town around breakfast time. The food is consistently good, fresh and hot - what you expect of a Denny's. A great breakfast place, good for a couple eggs and some pancakes, with a decent cup of hot coffee that is very easy access to the highways in all directions passing through Kingman. My last trip through the food was as good as it has been on previous stops, once more confirming to me that it's a solid choice for a decent breakfast. Two eggs over easy with lean not to crisp bacon and a couple nice sized pancakes, hot and fresh to the table in under 20 minutes. You will be hard pressed to find better food for what it is in the area. If you have been in one Denny's you have pretty much been in them all and this one is one of the best. The wait for a burger and a sandwich was ridiculous. The server brought my wife a root beer that was clearly out of the root beer syrup. It was the lightest shade of root beer ever. Then after we have already waited for 35 min (still no food) our server tells the people behind us that there is a 45 min wait for food. Why weren't we told that before we sat?
