The place mats have printed on them several credos. Credo #4 states, "WOW!"-if you don't say that when you get your food, you either ordered toast or my cooks flashed back to when they were working somewhere else." Well, when my wife bit into her meal she did not exclaim, "WOW!" That is only because she doesn't speak with food in her mouth. Instead, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she uttered, "mmm". Team member Jessica is a class act, ball of fire and she emanates joy. Thank you Jessica and Black Bear Diner. read more

I walked in at 9:20 PM (12 minutes ago) to place a to-go order and was told they were already closed. Unfortunately, this comes shortly after another negative experience I had at this same location, and it seems like nothing is improving. Management responded to my previous review asking me to reach out by email, so I did. I never even received the courtesy of a response. If you're going to publicly ask an unhappy customer to contact you, the least you can do is acknowledge their message. Between the service issues, turning away business, and the lack of follow-up from management, I honestly don't understand how a business can seem so uninterested in doing business. I gave this location another chance, but unfortunately, my experience wasn't any better. read more

The food was delicious and hot. Our server Ashley was the best server we have had in a long time. My husband is disabled and the bathroom was one of the best to help him with his needs. Being both genders I was able to assist him. A great experience! read more

Food tasted good and was well cooked, service was super great and the ambience was wonderful. You may have to wait a little but that's not necessarily the fault of the people here. Just higher up stuff. Anyways, it was great. I'm stuffed! read more

Have been coming weekly since opened. Today the 20th of September, Monday morning. Breakfast was horrible. Server was nice. Never come back again. Dennys would of been a better choice. Thats not saying much because Dennys is a Hit or Miss. read more

We love diners and this one was very good! When we came for dinner, I had the open face Turkey sandwich, and my companions had the Turkey club sandwich and a chicken strips basket. My family was so happy with dinner that we came back for breakfast then next morning and had all the breakfast foods. The biggest hit was the red white and blue pancakes. Service was good and we would definitely be back! read more

Service & food is very good when you are there; for the love of god don't expect for them to answer the phone if you want to see about wait time since they are busy on the weekends. No one pays attention to the phone at all even after being on hold for quite some time. I shouldn't have to "hope" we can get in if a simple phone call can't be answered. If that one thing would be corrected, this location would be a lot better. read more

I stopped here the morning of November 3rd on my way from Las Vegas to Oklahoma. Parking lot is big with plenty of spots. I ate at the counter and service was very good. I did the Build Your Own Breakfast - Ham , Scrambled Eggs , Grits , Wheat Toast , and Coffee. Everything was really good. I've eaten a few times at Black Bear Diner in Las Vegas and years ago it was not good , but this past year I went back a couple times for breakfast and once for lunch and it was so much better. The ladies here kept my coffee filled and hot and were very nice. This location is pretty big too , so if you have a large family or if you see a lot of cars in the parking lot , I wouldn't worry , they have a lot of tables and dining areas. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you're driving through Kingman. read more

It's a little strange but I always come here the week or day of my birthday. Today we decided to get our usual lunch. I ordered online. That was easy and smooth. I was greeted with friendly faces and the service was excellent. I got out to my truck and we started eating. I ordered two open face turkey sandwiches, a carrot cake and coconut cream pie. The open face sandwiches were just warm. The potatoes tasted great but again warm not hot. Both plates didn't really have a lot of gravy. . The coconut cream pie was yellow and super thick. It didn't taste like the pies I always get here. So disappointed. The carrot cake was delicious. Moist and scrumptious. I'm not sure if I'll be back. I did order an extra turkey with gravy for lunch tomorrow. read more

I have been trucking over 25 years now & have witnessed the unfortunate drastic decline of both diners & service personnel. I'm proud to report I have discovered a gem in Kingman,Arizona. Rare is it to find a great waitress & delicious food in adult size portions at the same place creating an excellent dining experience. You should ask for Majel as your server. She does her job & does it well. I enjoyed the pot roast dinner prepared to perfection. My compliments to the chef. Tonight's meal & my waitress Majel brought me back to the days when people took pride in their jobs. Black Bear management my hat off to you also for allowing quality food in nice portions to be served at a reasonable price. This diner is a model of what others need to follow. I look forward to treating myself again here the next time I'm passing through. Thank you. read more

Came back again because my inner bear had to be satisfied. Got the BLT and sweet potato fries. The BLT was super juicy and fresh, along with the crispy sweet potato fries. Service was excellent. Had a nice waitress and my drink came out really fast. I was given a booth nearly immediately, even though it was a moderately busy quarter past 8 PM. Atmosphere was amazing. Super high quality booths and nice outside area as always. Inner bear hunger satisfied tonight. read more

While black bear is one of our favs there are two to avoid. Kingman is one unless you have all day to be seated much less able to get a waitress to take your order. Even Ordering in advance doesn't work as we were told we couldn't eat our take out order in the dining room. What?? The price is the same what difference could it possibly make to them? When the wait staff walks and talks like they just woke up from hibernation it's probably best to avoid that black bear. read more

Feb.15, 2026 is when we were there at 10:15 on a Sunday morning. We waited almost 10 minutes for the hostess to take our name. We were told 10-15 minutes, but it ended up being 25. Off to a not-so-good start but we love their food and seldom get to a BBD as we don't have one near to where we live. So once seated, we were given menus and water right away. The waitress took our order in a fair amount of time. And then we waited. And waited... after about 20 minutes, our waitress stopped by to say our food would be right up! We watched another couple get their food at that time. They had come in the front door a good 15 minutes after we had, and were now seated and getting their food! We certainly should have had ours a long time ago. We waited some more. That couple finished eating and got up to leave. At that point I told my husband, that's it, we should leave! From when we came in the door, it had now been an hour and ten minutes! We did not have any food and as we left our poor waitress was serving as Hostess at the front podium. They didn't have a designated Hostess, nor any bus-boys to clear tables. The waitresses were doing all of it. Shame on the manager. Even if someone called in sick, this did not work. We felt bad leaving, but to be ready to spend about $45 for breakfast for two, we expected better than this! We won't be back. read more

Delicious food very happy with everything,,love the coffee good friendly service,, you get some much food,,the waitress brings coffee when you need it,, always love the breakfast time,, kinda expensive,,but worth all the portions you get,,way better than Dennys,,100% better definitely a return yummy, yummy!! read more

Everything is out of a can. Nothing is made fresh here.. I expected it to be fresh vegetables, but it was all out of the can.. I ordered the pot roast and it was very salty. The gravy smothered everything and was also out of a can.. terrible I will do my best to never eat here again read more

I don't go there anymore. I hadn't been there in about at least six months if not even longer because when you order breakfast, you don't even get two eggs anymore, but you pay for them. And I don't like sweet cream, pancakes, or waffle waffles I think they are hideous. I like my waffles and pancakes that taste like butter, not like sugar. I recently ordered a Reuben that didn't taste like one. They grind up the pastrami so much like they want to put it in an omelette. You can't even see it. It looks all ground up. I didn't see cheese. I did not see thousand Island dressing. It did not taste right at all very disappointing and it's very expensive. You're gonna pay $18 for nothing. read more

Nice diner, fun junk box and good food. Just really busy since great location. Mimosa was good while we waited.

Very reliable, family-friendly dining. Breakfast is their forte but we came here for dinner. They have a wide range of offerings and several that are offered in "smaller sizes". - Burgers and sandwiches are solid. - Even for dinner, their cream pancakes are amazing. - FIsh and chips was just ok - BIGFOOT Chicken Fried Steak was pretty good. Better than Cracker Barrel. read more

Walked in with my wife around 10:45 on a Sunday and waited ten mins for someone just to tell us it will be a 25 min wait.. because they only have 3 cooks.. mind you the restaurant was SERIOUSLY only 30% full I'm not exaggerating.. they have atleast 4 servers I can see. I've been to many black bear diners across the country, and I was blown away on how bad of service this place has .. And the incompetence of the employees I almost feel like I'm a burden for coming here to have breakfast I get excited trying new blackberry diners across the country, but I definitely will skip past this one next time I'm coming through Kingman, Arizona read more

I have started to see Black Bear Diner sprout up around Arizona and have been curious to try one out. On a recent road trip, we decided this would be a needed stop over and somewhere to get a bite to eat. We waited just over 5 mins to be seated, the restaurant was nearly empty. There were a couple of waitresses on the floor wandering around, not acknowledging us in any way. We nearly gave up and then finally a lady named Kalani (I believe) asked us "how many?" There was no acknowledgement that we'd be standing there, no attempt to be personable in any manner. We said "two", and she lead us to a table. We asked if we could have a booth, she turned and said "they're not in rotation, you're going to have to wait awhile until I get a chance to clean it if you want a booth". Wow.. guess I asked for too much. I responded that we would be leaving and aren't really interested in dining there after all. She huffed and stomped off. I am a strong believer in not ignoring warning signs. Clearly if seating us in a booth was too much effort, I was pretty certain this was going to be a strained effort to get some food on the table and a check. I'm not sure if all locations are like this, if this is the norm for this one, or if the staff were having an off day. Either way I'll be skipping this place going forward, I'd rather munch on a bag of chips from next door. read more

It had been a long day and a mixup with the hotel. We just wanted to eat and go to bed. Most places in town were closed and we know Black Bear is usually good. I know they have enormous portions so I went on the side menu and got the biscuits and gravy figuring it was 6.99 it will be just a little side plate. Nope that thing was ginormous so I only ate like 4 bites of it. Ordered spicy sausage and it was so greasy we used all the napkins on the table to get the grease off. I just asked for a box and figured maybe guys might eat later. The guys ordered a Tri Tip dip, waffle and chicken. They were all happy with the food. We had three huge To go containers to take to hotel. ** employees do not wear masks if that is a concern for you read more
