Stopping at Culver's is always a bright spot in my trips to Kingman. The staff are always so friendly and greet everyone with a smile. Each time I visit I order the same thing, a large fry and a single dish of custard. I usually just add my own toppings to the vanilla custard, however I'll occasionally try the flavor of the day. The fries are always perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The custard is so luscious and smooth. It is rich, so for me a little goes a long way. Ive been coming here for the past 3 years or so. Had a buddy with me today. Restaurant is very clean as always. He said he had been to culvers once. The person at the counter was very helpful and patient as my friend wasnt familiar with the menu. He opted for the roast beef or pork sandwich. I got a build your own burger with fries. He liked his meal. My burger had that signature buttery taste. Wasn't hip on the long cooked onions. I think they are usually diced. Fighting with those I eventually just took them out. I love Culver's and I wish we had one in Las Vegas.. my first visit was at a location in Michigan; and that's where I fell in love with these burgers! So we took a little trip to Kingman for the weekend and we had to stop in for a burger. The burger arrived at our table in a timely manner and it was hot & fresh and seasoned well; unfortunately the cheese was slapped on cold and not melted.. you gotta have that super melty cheese it's a whole different textural experience. Been stopping at Culver's when in Kingman for a few years now. Their Cod sandwich is my favorite! But to tell you the truth I've never had anything bad here. Stopped by here on the way from Grand Canyon and when we arrived place was a bit busy, but food was prepared pretty quick, they do bring food to your table, so that was a nice touch. Burgers were good, fries wasn't impressed with at all but the concrete mixers( ice cream) were pretty good. Got a heath toffee and peach mix ins. One thing we didn't like was people at the neighboring booth had a very yappy dog that was barking non stop. Was very annoying. We love Culver's! We live near one in Sahuarita, AZ, but on our drive home from Vegas today, we stopped in to use the restroom and order for take out, from the inside. Super disappointed, but didn't have time to turn around and complain and ask for them to remake our fish sandwiches. Both were completely overcooked, not burned but so overcooked, the fish was super dry. Our sandwiches were super sloppily put together. Half the lettuce in my box was outside of the box and 1/4 of the cheese inside the box and not the sandwich. :( I won't give 1 or no stars because the young lady who took our order was kind. Phenomenal experience today at my first visit to a Culver's. Our scout troop was passing through Kingman today and stopped for lunch. Wow! I don't know where to start this one! First of all, I am so happy to have a Culvers here! I always wait patiently for lent season, since that means one thing on the menu "Walleye" I am Catholic, and observe Fridays as no meat days, through the year. So that means it fish Fridays for me! Well after calling the store yesterday, their beloved Walleye arrived for the lent season. Needles to say, I planned my day around getting a Walleye dinner. In the past it has always been exceptional. Cooked perfectly and delicious. Well, that was not the case this time. I ordered the 3 piece Walleye dinner, so I make it a 2 day meal. First red Flagg, was the increase in price. It really jumped, but I wanted my Walleye. I wait all year long for this, and I bit the bullet and took it home for a feast. I live 20 miles out of town, so I put the pedal to the medal, so it would still be hot. Well, when I opened it up, There were 3 pieces of fish. One large on and 2 very small ones. I guess I should have gotten the 2 piece dinner instead. Being a senior citizen of a very fixed income, that will be the last time I would order the 3 piece dinner. I will stick with the 2 piece or just have the sandwich. The other issue was how it was cooked. It was very greasy, and the filets themselves were not really as thick as they use to be! My question is, did the tariffs have something to due with the huge price increase, and the smaller portions. I believe Culvers gets Walleye from Canada. We see on the internet all the time about fast food chains increasing prices and cutting portion size. I am not giving up on my beloved Walleye. Let me just say the onion rings were terrible. The grease in the vats needed to be changed. I was there to pickup some fish & chips for my husband. Since we had not been there in the last couple of months we have noticed some other changes. My husband was not happy with the shrinking fish portions and the lack of fries. He felt the whole serving had shrunk.I was also surprised that the fish was noticeably smaller. But those onion rings I loved in the past are my biggest disappointment yet. I was pretty overwhelmed by their expansive menu, so I figured I couldn't go wrong ordering their claim to fame - with a veggie twist. This is the first time I have eaten at a Culver's and I must say they have a very big menu. I got the buttery cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried onions, mustard, mayo, and ketchup. They forgot to put mayo or ketchup on my burger but it was still great. The burger was thin but the bun was amazing! I typically don't like the bun but this bun was heavenly light and fresh! Was looking for a good quick place to have a late lunch while passing through Kingman on the way to Vegas. We initially looked into another burger place, but saw they were closed when we got there. So I looked on Yelp and saw that reviews for this place were good too. Very happy we came here! The food was delicious and uncommon to where we live. I'm talking cheese curds and frozen custard treats! Yum! We've been traveling all week, so we were looking for something other than burgers and Mexican food. The Cranberry Bacon Bleu Salad and deep fried Walleye fish dinner were delicious! The kids loved the jumbo shrimp and their kids meal corn dog, as well.
