Great service today by Brook. We had breakfast it was pretty good. The Strawberry lemonade was so refreshing.

I often hear bad things from folks about Denny's, and I don't l own why. As far as big chain restaurants go, they do a great job and the quality and value are consistent. When I just want a good basic meal where there are no surprises, Denny's is a favorite stop of mine. My only complaint is that they currently neither have cream cheese, nor cottage cheese, with either/or I like with avocado and bacon in my favorite omelette. read more

Gallup North Side Denny's... we decided to have breakfast here, and the parking lot seemed full. Restaurant was nice clean, 50's music playing over the speakers. Waitress sat us gave us our drinks. Although my coffee was luke warm, I could finish it with one swig. It did feel like the waitress kept rushing us to order as I was still browsing the menu. Felt rushed to order so we placed our orders and we didn't wait long. 10 mins maybe and our food was out. So we enjoyed our breakfast and my second cup of coffee was hotter than the first cup. Like I said place was clean staff was friendly and other customers mind their own business, unlike most that stare and watch you eat. That's how usually Gallup is. Been to three Denny's trying to find food. I failed. The last one was Gallup NM. What a SHITHOLE!!! Never step foot here! No service. No host/hostess. This was the worst Denny's I've been to in my life! Denny's is our restaurant of choice during long car trips so that way my 1 year old can actually sit down and eat. We were travelling from Flagstaff and decided to stop here for lunch. We stood around for a few minutes till the host came out to greet us and sat us at a nearby table. We ordered our food and received it fairly quickly. I ordered a vegetable burger that came with fries although it said on the menu that it would come with a side salad. I decided not to make a big deal about it since I was in the mood for fries anyway. I received a measly portion of fries. The bottom of bun of my vegetable burger was hard as if the bun have been sitting out for days. The appetizer sampler that my husband ordered was so bad that my husband couldn't even eat more than a few bites. How can anyone get chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings wrong? Also, the appetizer sampler is suppose to come with two dipping sauces (as said in the menu) and they only gave us one. The only plus to this was that the staff was friendly. The food not so much. We've eaten at many Denny's before and the quality of food and portions has always remained consistent with the exception of this one. read more

I was beat by the time we arrived at Denny's and just wanted to eat and go to bed. The T-Bone steak, with mashed potatoes and a side of broccoli was very good. I didn't even mind that the broccoli had been steamed to death. That steak was awesome and the waittress was friendly and efficient. Long story short, my family and I came here off from the I40 looking to have a quick meal at around 11 o'clock at night on a Friday. It was quite a busy night at this location, but we were seated and asked for our beverage order very quickly including with our meal order! John was our server for the evening and he was more than excellent! He came to our table to check on us and chat every few minutes. This guy definitely deserves a raise or even a bonus! Walked in. No hostess. Waited a few minutes then a waiter sat us...at a too-small table when there were bigger ones available. I said "This one?" and he said yeah and then said we could take the one next to it, too, which was the same size. Not sure he understood that it was going to be a squeeze. Only got one kids menu when we had three kids...Then we sat and waited around for 10 minutes for a waiter to come to our table and nobody did so we walked out. Didn't even see any waiters walking around at all to help the 8 or so customer tables already there. Really bad service going on all around. Food tasted like any other Denny's but don't bother doing take out here, they will forget to give you all kinds of things -- and we were dumb enough to come back and let them do it to us twice. First time it was just toast, they said if I left my name they'd give me free toast next time. Alright. Except next time they forgot the toast, two separate orders of bacon in two different meals and the bananas that go on top of the pancakes....... I took my family to eat at the east side Denny's for lunch. After walking in and standing there for 15 min while numerous staff members walking by ignoring us I knew it wasn't going to be a fun experience. When we finally sat down I noticed one cook and five waitresses. The lady that sat us didn't ask if we wanted drinks and we didn't se another waitress for another thirty min. Finally when I asked if we were gonna get served our waitress who I had to track down hit very rude. The manager tried to apologize but the rude troll of a waitress insisted in yelling we don't need your business. Low level employees running a franchise to the ground in a small town. Why do I put myself through the torture of poor service plus bad food. I eat here mostly with family. .not by my choosing! The only good thing about this place is the Coffee. The food is never prepared right. .its either burnt or hard as a rock from sitting under the warmers for too long. Also forget about getting a refill. .by the time they remember you, your done and pissed off. The staff is lazy, rude and talk loudly with each other. Out of the last 5 visits in the last 2 years I've only had 2 good waitress/waiter and they earned the tip I gave! The staff are always smoking right outside the front door by the bench. .really big eyesore as you drive up. Try to look for your waiter/waitress & they are mostly likely outside talking/smoking. I was really, really hungry when we pulled in here. We had passed the last denny's over an hour before and I was fixated on stopping here. Granted, it might have just been my empty stomach - but everything here tasted better than usual. The pancakes were extra fluffy and cakey, the biscuits and gravy delicious and the mint hot chocolate perfectly minty. Service was fast and friendly. So I know it's "Denny's" and you get what you pay for but I'm not coming here expecting 5 star gourmet service. I am paying for good food, with good service. It took forever to get our food. Asked the waitress why the food was taking so long and she responded with "I don't know". Can u ask the chef? We weren't the only customers waiting either. The food finally comes and it's not right! The worst service I have ever had anywhere. Our server, John, walked past us about 5 times before even noticing is, or at least asking us what drinks we want. I wanted to buy one chicken tender, he said that was not possible. We then wanted to order soup. They stop serving soup at 10, we tried to order it 15 mins till 10. Mins you.. we sat there for 10 mins before being waited on ! He never asked what drink I wanted, I had to tell him as he was walking away. Another server had to call him over, twice to pick our food up. He was to busy talking to a table of girls, and telling them how he likes to break rules, and do some illegal things !? It was close to 4 pm when my daughter and I stopped by. It wasn't busy at all...only 3 tables occupied in the place when we arrived. Waited for a while to be seated even though we could see staff members behind the partition peeking out. After being seated, we had to wait....and wait.....and wait to have someone take our order. Tried to get the attention of a staff member but she just kept on walking. No one came by our table so my daughter and I got up to leave. Stopped in on a Monday afternoon. My son ordered a breakfast; I ordered a salad. The food was fresh, cooked and presented well. The waiter, Jacob, was excellent and friendly. Avoided this place for 5 years because the service was bad. Decided to give it another try thinking they might have improved. WRONG! Our server, Ricanda, was awful, horrible and that's being nice. She didn't introduce herself, didn't say hi, just asked for drinks and walked off. She then took our order and didnt upsell or ask how we wanted our burgers cooked, nothing. We ordered appetizers, never got them. When she brought our food out, We asked about the appetizers and said "oh, guess I forgot". No apology. Well, she completely forgot about us. The DEFINITION OF *WORST!* we arrived to a dirty, disorganized long wait and un attentive staff Dennys! I've had bad experiences like any place, but this place, takes the medal! 20 minute wait to take my order, 20 wait to get my order (only because I got up and asked for my order), got the wrong order (once it was ready), got my appetizers with my entrées and waitress would ignore (walk away and turn her back like I never called her)me when I would call out her name...and last and not least...never got refills nor napkins! Oh, and the bathrooms were a disaster! P.S an elderly man walked away after sitting there for 30 minutes, he was told he needed to wait 7 more minutes for his entrée, the man cancelled his order and walked away!!! Like most people who live in this small town we don't have a wide variety of restaurants. Denny's is usually the place we go as a family I am talking 6+ people in one sitting to accommodate our liking of either breakfast or lunch. Today in particular 4/12/17 we had experienced the worst customer services ever. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time. However, we waited 5 minutes or so to have the waiter take our drink order. It took awhile wait again for them to arrive we placed our food orders asking for lemons in which never arrived the entire 50 minutes we were in the building. Many customers that have arrived later after us were starting to get their food orders. During our visit we had 2 toddlers that were expecting a meal getting restless and hungry. No food!!! I asked another waitress that was passing our table what happened to our order or is our food coming soon?? She went to check and said a manger was made aware of our table/order. A few more minutes pass the manager comes up from behind a wall offering us grapes or gold fish crackers for our kicking and screaming toddlers I declined and asked is our food coming out soon... And she was like not yet. He put in the food order about 7 minutes ago. When we ordered with the waiter earlier! I was heated with anger by this point and told her we have been sitting here for more than 30 minutes all the other customers that came in after us have already begun to eat. I was very dissapointed at this point with my children screaming andy parents trying to look hopeful. I told the lady we will be leaving... Very disgustingly she just said have a good day and walked off to the back!!! I am greatly angry at the service we recieved today. Most places would try to make up for the very long wait by offering a discount or even being very apologetic, but the workers and manager acted like they weren't at fault. So very dissapointed in Denny's especially the manager she showed no professionalism at all!
