Came in restaurant. Waited 10 minutes to get seated when there were plenty of open tables. Got seated. Took 20 minutes before someone took my order. Took 25 minutes to get me food. Terrible service. read more

Visited here July 4 for brunch. There were 5 of us. We were seated right away. The foos was delivered quickly. The eggs were done really well to my surprise. I absolutely enjoyed my breakfast. My son wasn't crazy about his pancakes but overall it was good. I would come back again. read more

The guy was on the register was not wearing a mask. What was that about?! Most of the ataff sre not wearing masks?!

Been coming here for 9 years, and my kid's favorite place. Seems like there has been quite a bit of turnover lately and the server, Eva, we had yesterday was combative with me. Here's the scenario: I ordered the sirloin steak for my son (for about the 100th time). I guess there is another version where they add a bit of butter and it's 30 cents more. Yeah, 30c, big deal, but my son doesn't like his steak altered. So I asked "what is this?", she replies that it's what we ordered, and I said, "no, I ordered the sirloin steak", and then she blamed the mistake of serving garlic parmesan butter on the cook. So she asks him to scrape off the butter into her napkin, as if it was a piece of snot. I said to my son, "nevermind, just scrape it off to the side of the plate, and then she says, "no, just put it on my napkin" which is now touching the side of his plate. Who knows what pocket that napkin came out of. It was a bit annoying that she's intruding in our personal space, but not too big of a deal at the moment. The rest of the dinner was uneventful, and even this one incident was not a big deal and didn't even stand out in my mind until what came at the end. The bill comes and she up-charged us for the butter! I told her on the way to the register, "I think you charged us for the wrong item. The regular sirloin is $12.99 and this is $13.29". At this point, it's just about the principle of the matter...that she is stealing from me and my 2 young kids. She said, "no, this is the only item on the menu." I said, "No, I specifically saw sirloin steak for $12.99." Mind you, we come here every week. She's thinks I am stupid. Then she goes to the order kiosk and starts pressing buttons and it looks like she is just doing it to show me there is one item. Then she points and says, "see, it's all the same price". (Wait, now she admits there are two different items on the menu?) I replied, "Well, then your menu is wrong and it needs to be fixed." At this point, she goes quiet and heads to the cash register, and I deduct more than 30c from her tip, but I regret even giving her a tip. It should have been $0. I suppose it's hard to find good help these days. read more

i haven't been to a Denny's in years . . probably not since it was our after bar spot back in my college days. But I have to hand it to this location. They took good care of this hungry girl the other night and for that I am thankful. I pulled in around 1am. The place was fairly busy so I grabbed a seat at the counter and was quickly presented with a menu by the very friendly staff. I ordered a sandwich and a drink and the server was off and running. The couple next to me at the counter were friendly . . .asking me where I was coming from and where I was going. I laughed when she placed her order as she had 4 choices for her breakfast platter and she choose , "Bacon, Bacon, Bacon and a muffin". Sounds like my kind of girl! My sandwich came up within minutes, was perfectly prepared and my soda was refilled time and time again. And the best news? I was in and out within about 30 minutes for about $12. Hard to believe that Denny's is going on my list of places to recommend! All in all. a very good experience! read more

We came to Denny's for a late night snack. Overall, one of the best Denny's I've been to. Pros: - modern decor with clean tables and seats - reasonable prices (most entrees are under $10 and they have the $2, $4, $6 menu) - open 24/7 (surprisingly it gets busy in the late hours!) - lots and lots of food options (everyone will find something to eat), the food was cooked well - Love their new pancake recipe! - right off of the 5 freeway Cons: - slow customer service (though our young server was nice, he was clearly working too many tables and it took a while for him to take our order and for our food to come out) Given most places in near Del Mar aren't open late, Denny's can be an option to curb your late night cravings. Just keep in mind, it's a chain diner. read more

This location never disappoints. They have the most welcoming staff who you can tell want to take care of their customers. It's a Denny's, the food and drinks are always going to be amazing, but there's something special about this location. Needless to say, they have a lifelong customer with me. And big thanks to Salina who provided over-the-top service for me during my last visit! read more

I LOVE this Denny's! Great food! Our waitress Tatiana was the best I've ever had. She was very attentive, has a wonderful personality and made great suggestions! My granddaughter loved her. The place is really pretty for a Denny's and immaculately clean. F8r those who want it, they serve alcohol. Mostly local beers. They have Stella Artois on tap. In the future, I'll be going out of my way to come here from Carlsbad. read more

This place is racist imo. Headed in there with familia and the people who entered after us got served first and attended to more. Why? Because they were white and this whole area is white so being outsiders I guess is not something they usually get. We didn't even get offered more drinks. Had to prompt our waiter with a gesture where they were because he hadent came back. Glad it was only a one time visit. read more

Denny's - Diners Near Me - Del Mar, California

A party of 9 of us came to this Denny's yesterday-Christmas day-so I'll preface this with the acknowledgment of the more busy than usual nature. Once there we put our name down and behind us was an equally as large party. They were seated first. We had to wait longer and once finally seated we waited again for a server to ask for our drinks. We placed our drink and food orders and waited again even longer. We waited over 50 minutes until we asked for an update from the manager, who walked by, with a rude attitude he responded "I don't know" then came back and said it would be another 20-30 minutes. We didn't want to wait anymore, everyone was starving, so we left. Upon leaving several parties who had come in a significant time after us were already served or were being served (including the party that cut us). The service was absolutely terrible-can't review the food though. I'd like to note that every party that was helped or served before us (despite entering after us) was white. As our party wasn't, we feel our experience was racially motivated. read more

While visiting the area in stopped in for breakfast. What a great colorful menu. I had the cheese omelette with hash browns. I've been to this Denny's before but surprisingly failed to review it. In my experience, every Denny's is the same. You're not going to find five-star quality food or service but for what it is, a 24-hour diner, I'm actually a big fan. Denny's has meant multiple things to me over the years. As a child, it was the restaurant my family would stop at on road trips from Seattle to L.A. As a college student, it became a 3 A.M. drunken hangover spot. Now, as an adult, it's a rare occurrence but it still holds a special place in my heart, largely because of the addictive seasoned fries and delicious ranch dressing. Finding ourselves in Del Mar around 9 P.M. and not having eaten dinner yet, my guy and I decided that our limited options left us with Denny's for dinner. Not that I'm complaining. I secretly get excited at the thought of eating here and indulging in all the greasy goodness! My go-to over the years has been the Superbird (minus the bacon) with seasoned fries. I'm so in love with the Superbird that I've tried to recreate it at home but it never comes out quite right. The grilled turkey and swiss sandwich practically melts in your mouth and the aforementioned seasoned fries are perfectly crispy. I've never tried their regular fries but I highly recommend upgrading to the seasoned fries. You won't regret it! read more

They don't have the impossible burger like some locations, they just have a garden burger. Meh. And there are some games in the front entrance. We got food to go and had to wait so long we played "the claw" game where you try to grab a stuffed toy with a claw using a joystick. The machine was supposed to charge $2. It charged $10 on my card. I talked to the manager (I know, Karen) about the overcharge and he was like "I don't know anything I am just the manager." Totally passed the buck. I was out $10. Should've known better and not played a dumb arcade game at Dennys. Just skip Dennys altogether. Basically as meh as ever. read more

Please note this restaurant does not know how to operate their online order system. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. When you arrive they will not acknowledge the order. The manager Tim does not know how to fix the problem. No compensation offered. Charged me even though I paid on the Denny app already. Then charged more in person than my total and confirmation on the app. Tim the manager does not know how to refund or operate the system. Another coworker Caitlyn making the new order kept asking if I needed hot sauce. Why would you ask if I need this before syrup, ketchup, forks, napkins, etc.... are you asking this because I'm black? If it wasn't for the kids hungry I would walk out. I will never patronize this location again. Their employees are not trained and racists. I can't even be upset at Caitlyn when her direct supervisor knows nothing. read more

Sal was so attentive and anticipated our needs. So sweet! Thanks for the good service

Our waiter was seriously overworked. We sat at counter for faster service and it wasn't! ! Our food took over 20 minutes and arrived incomplete and partially cold. (Try gagging down a precooked, refrigerator cold, sausage). No coffee or soda refill in the 45 minutes we were there. Nothing once food was slopped in front of us (by someone other than our server). Had to flag down manager for coffee that should have come BEFORE breakfast. Never again. Not this location. No one apologized or cared if we were happy or even satisfied. Rotten way to start our Sunday morning. My advice..go elsewhere. read more

Took long for the order and forgot many things from it. It was simple too, the jr grand slam. They managed to just mess it up and forget a sausage when I asked for bacon and sausage. I came at the time estimated for the order to be ready only to be greater by a rude server that told me my order hasn't even popped up. Never again making this mistake. read more

This was a wonderful Thanksgiving-Eve stop. I wanted to specifically write this review to commend the staff here the night before Thanksgiving. Everyone was so prompt, kind and attentive. Specifically, our family wants to single out our waitress, Jezebel. She was so helpful and kind. From the beginning until the end, she made us feel very welcome and taken care of. At the table behind us, someone dropped a glass and it shattered, and she came over to clean it with SUCH kindness. We overheard her reassuring the people behind us that it was no problem at all and she showed so much grace. We were very happy with our dining experience and the people who worked here. read more

My husband and I decided we haven't had Denny's in a while and wanted some breakfast. I now remember the reason why we never eat here. We wait a couple minutes and get seated not a problem. We then tell the waitress we need a few minutes to look over the menu, 15 minutes goes by and nothing, we don't see her anywhere. Finally my husband flags her down and said we are ready to order. We get to place our order and then we need a refill on drinks, again our waitress is no where to be found. We had to order a meal to go and bring home for someone. I order a breakfast meal and kindly request double sausage instead of both sausage and bacon. We are missing the sausage. Thought the breakfast came with 2 eggs, the meal had one tiny egg. Very disappointed with the service and half of the meal missing. read more

I love the manager who works here he took care of us personally and was very sweet and generous. He really does take his job seriously and I appreciate that. He also made sure that our food came out as quickly as possible which was also appreciated. I couldn't of asked for a better Denny's to stop by with how warming the manager made me feel I was very glad that a great person like him was in charge of a place like that since it's not always easy. My food came out fresh my soup came out great and ultimately I was happy on my 30 minute break being able to enjoy such a pleasant smooth experience in such a short amount of time I feel deserves a lot. So I recommend a spot if you're in the area or just a tourist and want some familiar foods I would definitely recommend this spot. read more

Great customer service! There was an older Caucasian woman working the front who was way nicer than she needed to be and it honestly made my day. It seemed like other people working there were kind of rude to her, specifically the Hispanic man who seemed to be the manager, but it did not seem to affect her attitude towards customers. read more

I don't know what is going on with this Denny's!!!! They used to be so good and the service was on point. Today it was a nightmare - empty tables but we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated with a huge group of customers. Then we got seated and thankfully the Manager gave us something to drink cause we ended up waiting another 20 minutes for nothing to happen! I kept wanting to leave but my family said they were hungry and we should wait a few more minutes. That was 20 minutes ago!! What the heck?!? Still waiting for food.... man this is terrible.... not cool!! Okay so the food came - it was cold and I didn't get the muffin that comes with my food until AFTER I was done eating. There was a hair in my son's eggs and my daughter's burger was substandard and had a funky taste. Terrible! Clearly the next time this place looks like it's struggling to seat people it's best to give it a miss... doesn't get better from there. read more

Came in here after picking up a family member from the airport since we were super hungry around 10pm. We Waited at the cash register for a good 20 minutes and no one acknowledged us so we took it upon ourselves to sit down. We sat at a booth for a good 20 minutes again waiting on someone to acknowledge us, even asked someone to come over and they blatantly ignored us as if we didnt exist. This big lady with cat ears was sitting down with some customers and talking with them for a good 10 minutes, after she got up and walked right past our table and didnt acknowledge us. We will never be returning to this rude place! read more

Staying a hotel nearby and were in walking distance. This place is so horrific. We were sat in back of restaurant and took them 20 minutes to get our drink order. There was a table nearby that had spilled water on the floor and we noticed even after being there 1.5 hours and 4 employees walking by no one bothered to get a mop and clean it up. Made me wonder how the cleanliness is in the establishment. Our food took about 40 minutes to come out after placing order and no utensils were provided so we had to get them from a different table. The waitress spilled food all over the floor and what looked like the supervisor was rude. Overall just stay away.... at least from the evening crew. read more
