They don't have the impossible burger like some locations, they just have a garden burger. Meh. And there are some games in the front entrance. We got food to go and had to wait so long we played "the claw" game where you try to grab a stuffed toy with a claw using a joystick. The machine was supposed to charge $2. It charged $10 on my card. I talked to the manager (I know, Karen) about the overcharge and he was like "I don't know anything I am just the manager." Totally passed the buck. I was out $10. Pros: - modern decor with clean tables and seats - reasonable prices (most entrees are under $10 and they have the $2, $4, $6 menu) - open 24/7 (surprisingly it gets busy in the late hours!) - lots and lots of food options (everyone will find something to eat), the food was cooked well - Love their new pancake recipe! - right off of the 5 freeway Cons: - slow customer service (though our young server was nice, he was clearly working too many tables and it took a while for him to take our order and for our food to come out) Given most places in near Del Mar aren't open late, Denny's can be an option to curb your late night cravings. A party of 9 of us came to this Denny's yesterday-Christmas day-so I'll preface this with the acknowledgment of the more busy than usual nature. Once there we put our name down and behind us was an equally as large party. They were seated first. We had to wait longer and once finally seated we waited again for a server to ask for our drinks. We placed our drink and food orders and waited again even longer. We waited over 50 minutes until we asked for an update from the manager, who walked by, with a rude attitude he responded "I don't know" then came back and said it would be another 20-30 minutes. We didn't want to wait anymore, everyone was starving, so we left. Upon leaving several parties who had come in a significant time after us were already served or were being served (including the party that cut us). The service was absolutely terrible-can't review the food though. I'd like to note that every party that was helped or served before us (despite entering after us) was white. i haven't been to a Denny's in years . . probably not since it was our after bar spot back in my college days. But I have to hand it to this location. They took good care of this hungry girl the other night and for that I am thankful. I pulled in around 1am. The place was fairly busy so I grabbed a seat at the counter and was quickly presented with a menu by the very friendly staff. I ordered a sandwich and a drink and the server was off and running. The couple next to me at the counter were friendly . . .asking me where I was coming from and where I was going. I laughed when she placed her order as she had 4 choices for her breakfast platter and she choose , "Bacon, Bacon, Bacon and a muffin". Sounds like my kind of girl! My sandwich came up within minutes, was perfectly prepared and my soda was refilled time and time again. And the best news? I was in and out within about 30 minutes for about $12. Hard to believe that Denny's is going on my list of places to recommend! All in all. a very good experience! read more

I've been to this Denny's before but surprisingly failed to review it. In my experience, every Denny's is the same. You're not going to find five-star quality food or service but for what it is, a 24-hour diner, I'm actually a big fan. Denny's has meant multiple things to me over the years. As a child, it was the restaurant my family would stop at on road trips from Seattle to L.A. As a college student, it became a 3 A.M. drunken hangover spot. Now, as an adult, it's a rare occurrence but it still holds a special place in my heart, largely because of the addictive seasoned fries and delicious ranch dressing. Finding ourselves in Del Mar around 9 P.M. and not having eaten dinner yet, my guy and I decided that our limited options left us with Denny's for dinner. Not that I'm complaining. I secretly get excited at the thought of eating here and indulging in all the greasy goodness! My go-to over the years has been the Superbird (minus the bacon) with seasoned fries. I'm so in love with the Superbird that I've tried to recreate it at home but it never comes out quite right. The grilled turkey and swiss sandwich practically melts in your mouth and the aforementioned seasoned fries are perfectly crispy. I've never tried their regular fries but I highly recommend upgrading to the seasoned fries. You won't regret it! read more

This was a wonderful Thanksgiving-Eve stop. I wanted to specifically write this review to commend the staff here the night before Thanksgiving. Everyone was so prompt, kind and attentive. Specifically, our family wants to single out our waitress, Jezebel. She was so helpful and kind. From the beginning until the end, she made us feel very welcome and taken care of. At the table behind us, someone dropped a glass and it shattered, and she came over to clean it with SUCH kindness. My husband and I decided we haven't had Denny's in a while and wanted some breakfast. I now remember the reason why we never eat here. We wait a couple minutes and get seated not a problem. We then tell the waitress we need a few minutes to look over the menu, 15 minutes goes by and nothing, we don't see her anywhere. Finally my husband flags her down and said we are ready to order. We get to place our order and then we need a refill on drinks, again our waitress is no where to be found. We had to order a meal to go and bring home for someone. I love the manager who works here he took care of us personally and was very sweet and generous. He really does take his job seriously and I appreciate that. He also made sure that our food came out as quickly as possible which was also appreciated. I couldn't of asked for a better Denny's to stop by with how warming the manager made me feel I was very glad that a great person like him was in charge of a place like that since it's not always easy. My food came out fresh my soup came out great and ultimately I was happy on my 30 minute break being able to enjoy such a pleasant smooth experience in such a short amount of time I feel deserves a lot. So I recommend a spot if you're in the area or just a tourist and want some familiar foods I would definitely recommend this spot. read more

Came in here after picking up a family member from the airport since we were super hungry around 10pm. We Waited at the cash register for a good 20 minutes and no one acknowledged us so we took it upon ourselves to sit down. We sat at a booth for a good 20 minutes again waiting on someone to acknowledge us, even asked someone to come over and they blatantly ignored us as if we didnt exist. There was a table nearby that had spilled water on the floor and we noticed even after being there 1.5 hours and 4 employees walking by no one bothered to get a mop and clean it up. Made me wonder how the cleanliness is in the establishment. Our food took about 40 minutes to come out after placing order and no utensils were provided so we had to get them from a different table.
