My order they got wrong I asked for extra wings and I only got 3 wings. They have some of the worst waiters that don't listen.

It was terrible they didn't get my order right and when I got my food it was cold and under cooked. The people keep messing up the order which made that place look bad because the people couldn't do there job right.

Slightly burnt hash browns

It is hard to describe the comedy of errors we found at this Denny's. The wait for a waiter to even notice we had been seated took about ten minutes. Then, the waiter came over and I noticed an open wound on his hand that was suspiciously ringed in red. No band-aid or anything. It took four tries and two waiters to get the right kind of creamer, and spoons for our coffee. And it's not like they were busy or understaffed. There were only eight or ten tables, and I counted five or so waiters. The coffee was cold, and the mug didn't seem clean. Brunch took forever to get made. We did come in at an odd time, but, again, they weren't busy. We got toast whether we wanted it or not. My omelette was weirdly watery and flavorless. I heard someone complain that their nachos were cold. The hash browns were fairly burnt. Something had a weird sour taste to it that I couldn't place. No one ever asked us how the food was, not while we were eating or while we were checking out. By the point we were paying, I just wanted to get out of there, so I didn't complain. Not a great place. Can't recommend. And it's not that I'm against diners, I eat at places like this all the time.

Service was terrible. Took 15 minutes for someone to even approach our party of 9 to take a drink order. Never again!!!

We had Lori on Monday who brought our drinks and refills. On Friday we had Darcy doing the honors. Both were very friendly and efficient! Very family friendly and the deserts were so good that we had to make a trip to their bakery to pick up a couple delicious pies.

Gasthof Amish Village, Montgomery IL. June, 2026. My husband and I were traveling along US-50, and…read morewe reached this buffet-style restaurant for lunch. Having grown up in PA, I'm very familiar with "Pennsylvania Dutch" or Amish and Mennonite cooking. I would characterize this style of cooking as hearty, simple, and high-calorie comfort food. The buffet included three main sections. The first included two soups (chicken noodle and vegetable), salad bar items, prepared salads (such as coleslaws and broccoli salad), and some gelatin molds. The second station was hot items (meats, gravies, vegetables). Finally, there was a dessert station with an assortment of cobblers, cookies, cupcakes, soft serve ice cream, and more. I noticed other patrons with homemade white bread but I somehow missed it on the buffet. Overall, there was a good selection of items available. I most enjoyed the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, and berry and peach cobblers. The biggest misses were the chicken noodle soup (which didn't seem to contain any chicken pieces, was only lukewarm, and very over-salted) and the chocolate ice cream, which was runny. My husband and I found the food to be generally bland. (Granted, Amish food isn't known to have a spicy profile). In addition, they didn't offer some foods and desserts that I generally associate with Amish cooking -- pickled eggs, Harvard beets, macaroni and cheese, cinnamon apples. shoo fly pie, apple dumplings, fry pies, Whoopie pies, etc. (Admittedly, the traditional Amish foods in the Midwest may differ from those in Pennsylvania). The restaurant had a lot of seating and was clean, and had a cute gift shop that you passed through on the way in and out. Our server was sufficiently attentive. Parking was free and plentiful. The all-you-can-eat lunch buffet was $16.99 per person; drinks not included.

I happened to be in Jasper for a work meeting. We decided to head to this restaurant to grab lunch…read more I apologize I didn't get any photos as it was a work lunch. This place is adorable. It feels like an old German inn. The waitress staff wore cultural dresses. They even have a cute little gift shop. The salad bar looked fresh with plenty of options. I had the Ruben. It was delicious. It does not come with any sauce, but the waitress was happy to grab me thousand island. This was probably one of the best Ruben's I've had. For the side, I went with the German fries. Everything was tasty and I hope to come back again! A lot of the group ordered the fried chicken plate special and it looks delicious. They all enjoyed it as well.

Previously family and I have attended some great German restaurants in the motif of a beer hall…read more This is not that. It is more of an inn. There are lots of items on display almost like a small museum. Don't forget the gift shop. I was thrilled. Obviously popular, the clientele was experienced, but diverse. While I did not hear German discussion, I might have. Next to the restaurant is a building that is their catering. It was as big as the restaurant. Walking in, the sign said to seat yourself. Sometimes that means a delay in a server finding you. Nay, nay. She was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. She was great. Because I scanned the menu ahead of time, I knew that I wanted the trio of wursts. They were among the best I've had. My server talked me into the potato salad. It was great. Along with the wursts, I ordered a salad and completely enjoyed their house made blue cheese dressing. The beer menu had Spaten Special. Spaten is a rare treat for and this is the first time I have even enjoyed it on tap. When I was leaving, I was able to buy a six pack of harder to find German beers. My adult son loves German beer and did not even recognize one I brought that he loved. Restraining myself, I made only modest purchases in the gift shop. This will not be true next visit. As far as the museum aspect, there are many displays. Down one wall are many car models, train models, liquor decanters and numerous other German items. I sneaked into a closed dining room with great displays of stein and wine history. A few times a year, I head from TN to IN. I will make this a two day stop. Oh, did I mention there is a hotel right next door to keep my safe from driving after enjoying a few great beers on tap?
