This is the best breakfast/brunch spot. Cafe Pina is definitely one of our favorite restaurants ever. The menu changes seasonally with new items, but still has classics you can expect all year round. They also have weekly specials that include non-menu items that are often themed for holidays/special occasions. This morning we got to enjoy some of this season's winter menu. I had the fuyu sando, my husband had the country cabin crunchwrap, and our son had the O-G pancakes with chocolate chips/strawberries/blueberries. I also had a cookie butter chai and my husband had coffee. Everything was phenomenal, like always. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The restaurant itself is bright, open, and just cheerful. If you're in the area this is a must stop. If you are local, they do so much more than brunch. They have a bakery across the hall, they do catering, private dinners, special nights for dinner. The inside is always clean. The service was good. The food is very overpriced. Chicken sandwich with scrambled eggs, one coffee and a country fried steak wrapped in a tortilla. With tip, $57.75. The country fried steak was the thinnest I have ever gotten. The gravy that came with it to dip in was hyped up on the menu as being delicious. It tasted like the cheapest 50 cent store brand instant gravy packet. Almost zero flavor. I did appreciate the avocado and garlic aioli flavor in the wrap. The country fries ( cubes ) tasted stale , like they were fried, then kept warm. Neither of us ate but two bites each. Ketchup didn't help. read more

Looking for a breakfast place while in town for a wedding and the reviews and menu looked promising, After being seated, it took quite a while for someone to come over. When someone did, she just stared blankly at me lol. Very awkward. They were sold out of several items. It was about 10am on a Saturday morning. A mom group with babies were seated next to us and they CHANGED A BABY'S DIAPER ON THE RESTAURANT BENCH. This is not the restaurant's fault and didn't affect my rating, but people have lost their damn minds and if you don't already know, *changing a baby's diaper in a restaurant is unacceptable.* There was definitely a changing table in the restroom. The veggie omelet was good, the toast was cold. I hope someone wiped that bench down. read more

They offer weekly specials, as well as seasonal menus that always offer several options. The service is quick and always friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. Walking into Cafe Piña makes you feel like you've stepped outside of small town Dubois County with all of their menu options that are unlike others around here! LOVED this little place in Jasper. It's good for waking up. It is very bright, tastefully decorated, with great music in the morning. We were seated promptly and the service overall was great. What an experience... Ale R, our server was a terrible waitress. None of the standards were met, it took a ridiculous amount of time to receive our drinks. Ale got our drinks and then did not ask about a single refill the entire time. After our drinks it took an additional 10 minutes to order our food. We ordered an appetizer and we had to remind Ale about it to receive it. When we went initially order the food we were told the special for french toast was lucky charms, we waited for our food and when we were served it it was something completely different. she was very rude about the interaction between us while saying that our food was wrong. we were not asked how things were looking or if our food was good. the most she talked to us was about our bill. she walked to the table next to us countless times asking how they were and skipped us each and every time. i believe that she was a horrible server and consequences should be faced. read more

I went early for breakfast and it took five minutes to get us seated as workers walked around us and looked at us with empty tables sitting next to them. Once we were seated, it took forever for our waitress to come and ask for drinks. The people next to us seated after us got their drinks, food, and check before us. She brought our drinks, set them down, and walked away. She never asked about refills or if we needed anything or even acknowledge our table. We finally were able to order our food after waiting forever and I ordered the flavor of the week french toast (which when I had asked her when she was walking away after setting down our drinks, was lucky charms) but when my food arrived it was creme brûlée french toast. When I told her that's not what I ordered she just stared at me and said I ordered the flavor of the week and I said yes, the lucky charms and she responded that was for pancakes and I reminded her when I asked I said flavor of the week for french toast and when I ordered I said lucky charm french toast. She just stared at me and asked if there was a confusion. After saying she'd expedite it, I went with the regular french toast. She never once apologized for her mistake or the inconvenience as we had already been waiting forever on our food and now I had to wait longer while those around me ate. With the tables around us she was attentive and checked on them, but with us she didn't bother to check on us or even look at us while speaking. I hate to be writing this. I did not leave a review after our first visit because I was hoping things would improve after the first few months. Now after ~ 8 months of service, I think we had a more tumultuous experience than our first. We were quickly seated (which was great) in a table that is in a corner. I shimmied into my seat and pulled the table as close to me as possible because the back of my husbands chair was already touching the back of the woman's chair at the next table. As we awkwardly settled into our cramped table, we waited for 20 minutes before our server came over. Others passed us repeatedly without even a glance. The same server was waiting the tables on either side of us but ignored us. There were always a few empty tables and at least four servers, but no one seemed to be in a hurry. I'm not sure if they work in sections or if it is a free for all but it was weird. When our server did come over, bless his heart, I think he was new but he was kind and from there checked on us a few times. The creme brûlée latte was good. While we were waiting, the table sort of at a diagonal to me cleared and the hostess sat a couple there. Or rather, the wife and I sat them there. The man was using a wheelchair and while other tables that would have been more ADA accessible were available, the hostess expected this man to slide his wheelchair into a spot in place of their regular chair, which again is already very crowded and any seating requires a bit of musical chairs. The hostess bounced and I could tell the couple was struggling so I reached over and pulled their table close to me so they could get his wheelchair in. That's how close their table already was. I didn't have to stretch or move to pull their table. They thanked me and as the woman settled into her seat I realized I was trapped in. You can see how close we are in the photo attached. And the other side of our table is against a wall so there is one way out. Our food came in a very acceptable amount of time and was delicious. We got the crunchy French toast and spicy chicken and waffles. Everything was very tasty. As we got up to leave my husband got out first and we pushed the table towards him and still there wasn't enough room. The woman was very gracious and offered to get up so that we could leave. Not only was this encounter awkward for all three tables involved, it isn't comfortable or safe. If a fire broke out or any other emergency situation, myself and the man in the wheelchair would have been trapped. After 8 months, this seems like an obvious and easy fix. The service is dead slow and this additional table is a hazard. Remove the table. One less table for the very young waitstaff to tend to and everyone is more comfortable and safe. I have a hard time believing that this is an isolated incident because everyone is packed in. I want to love this place. The food and seasonal offerings are great. It's in an awesome location. The general vibes of the joint are so good. A place where I can get fresh food, a decent latte, and not have to listen to country music on repeat? Count me in. People clearly want to love it but there are some major safety issues that made at least a dozen people uncomfortable. Please, please remove that table. I could see us getting takeout from here, I cannot stress how delicious the food was, but I would hate to go in and fear asking all those around me to suck in so we can sit down. read more

Service sucks!!!!! Been here over 10 minutes and STILL haven't received water or coffee that we ordered. Another waitress had to get our drinks. They are busy but shouldn't be served after another table that got here after we ordered!! When we did get the coffee, it was good. My husband's eggs were ordered over medium but received over hard. Otherwise, bacon was cooked well, toast (rye and sourdough) was delicious, my omelette was loaded with all the options on the menus. Very tasty. I've done take out and dine in. Burger, salad, ramen, breakfast burrito all DELICIOUS. I've had really good coffee from here, and one coffee that wasn't so good (I think they forgot the syrup). Small place with good service but their working hours keep changing and they close on random days if they get busy. Basically good place but inconsistent hours. You can't reply on them if you are planning to have breakfast at a certain time as they are not predictable. Maybe my luck...one time I called to have a carry on and they said we are closed because of Mother's Day which is weird as most restaurants were open on that day. I can only eat breakfast on weekends and now they are open at 9 on Sundays. Again the food is ok not extraordinary same like Dennys but maybe larger portion. read more
