I have had this one on the list for a while now because of the reviews... I was excited to take a spontaneous road trip to Evansville yesterday and finally check it out! We parked in front of the restaurant, and were seated immediately. The inside is small, but they also have a nice little patio area if the weather is right. We chose to sit inside this time. The bar is nice as well. They were busy but the food and drinks come out quickly, so that helps. I started with the signature drink according to the server. It was called the lucky bucket, and it's a spicy strawberry margarita. It definitely has a kick to it, with good flavor. I ordered the special, which was a chicken Parmesan sandwich, made with a homemade marinara sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, and banana peppers. It was delicious!!! My husband had the fried chicken club sandwich. They originally brought out the wrong sandwich for him, so the picture is of a different sandwich, but once corrected, he said it was good. He ate the other half of my sandwich and liked it better! We also shared the classic fries and a slice of the vanilla cheesecake with homemade berry compote for dessert. Great service. We stopped by for a quick drink and wanted something light. I ordered the fried green tomatoes. The crisp was perfect. Yummy side sauce and tiny feta was a nice touch. While traveling for work I was looking for a good place to treat myself. Based on the reviews this place looked promising and boy did it not disappoint.I ended up having dinner here two nights in a row! The first night I had a peanut butter smash burger that was amazing with a Ghirardelli slice of cake (sorry forgot to take pics I was too hungry ) But the second night I had the Steak Frites and a craft cocktail which was the perfect "last meal" of my trip. The server remembered me the second time and was so pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside and it very lively and full of life. Both were flavorful. They had some substitutions today due to a fire there recently. Lunch was approximately $12 per person for the things we had. Items are considered "à la carte" so if you order fries or anything to go with your burger it's extra. Would take a friend if they wanted something that's not always on a traditional menu. read more

Went to Samuel's while waiting for an event to start at the ford center, it is within walking distance which is very convenient. The food was amazing! We had truffle fries that were done perfectly in my mind, the truffle flavor was there but not so overpowering that it overwhelmed the dish. I had a smash burger, really good. Ingredients seemed fresh! My boyfriend got the chicken club and I was jealous!! It looked amazing. They don't offer gluten free buns, which is ok. They were willing to lettuce wrap my burger and that's a lot more than some places offer! Our waitress was a saint. The place was packed because of the event and she still managed to get us everything pretty quickly and refill drinks, etc. despite the chaos she still took the time to talk about what we should have as first time diners. Truly amazing! Like I said, the place was packed so we ended up sitting outside. I didn't see much of the inside. So other than the fact that this place has pretty limited seating, I can't really comment. It was very clean, and there was also a bar. One of the reviews said to arrive early, I'm glad we did, as it fills up pretty quick. A nice little cozy restaurant with a big red door, you can't miss it. They had a bar upfront, with a nice cocktail list. We ordered the truffle fries and crispy Brussels and they were both amazing. My favorite were the Brussels, as they were cooked perfectly and packed with so much flavor. I am still thinking about these. The interior is amazing, the staff was very personable and attentive, and the truffle fries were a huge portion and absolutely banging. But then I got my BLT (SAMUEL'S DRESSED UP BLT - Berkshire bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, basil aioli, grilled sourdough) and it looked incredible, but there was something slightly off about the taste. I dont know if it was old oil/butter used to toast the bread, or if there was a cleaning agent that hadnt been thoroughly removed from the grill, but the sandwich was ever so slightly sour/bitter. I tasted my dining companions sandwich with similarly toasted bread and it was the same. So I am not sure. Maybe I hit an off day? Maybe it is supposed to taste that way? I know I probably should have said something but we were in a hurry and I did not want to make it into a Thing, so yeah that's partially on me.
