Hours are incorrect on google and Yelp. My boyfriend and I pulled up around 8:30 to a restaurant packed with people so we figured we'd go in and see if they sat us. They did but it quickly became apparent they were closing or atleast attempting to close soon, and we were pressured by the waitress to put our order in quickly. We did so, but when the food came it was NOT what I had ordered so it had to be remade. Our waitress also refilled our drinks with coke, when my boyfriend had ordered root beer and I was drinking a raspberry tea. We didn't mention it considering we were in a bit later and we didn't want to be a bother, but it could've been an issue. Great service and consistently delicious breakfast! My partner and I are staying in crescent city for 3 days and after coming here the second morning we decided to just come here again for our last morning because of how pleasantly surprised we were. For being understaffed they still kicked ass at being quick and efficient. We were seated almost immediately, recieved our drinks/food in a timely manner, and also recieved awesome customer service. Best Denny's ever. I came with low expectations but I thought I knew what to expect. Ordered the Ultimate Omelette with hash browns. Omelette was so tasty - onions, mushrooms, sausage, bacon and cheese. All ingredients were well prepared by someone who cares their food tastes good. Hash browns were deliciously crispy. At first I was a little intimidated of this location, right on the 101 Highway, I was expecting a dive really. When I walked in, much to my surprise, I was immediately greeted by a warm hello and was not hassled about finding my own seat. The inside and out was very typical Denny's but very clean and organized minus the one hole in the seat next to me covered in tape. I was so surprised when I received my food. An omelet with 5 toppings and the freshest avocado I have ever had at a Denny's. And I only spent around $11. I received my food very fast. I was barely able to drink 1/4 of my coffee before it came out piping hot. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait for my waitress, Autum, to assist me. I added a glass of grapefruit juice and another waitress got it for me very promptly. I will definitely be back to this location. One side note that brought this review from 4 stars to 5. Was the smell of the cooking. Even after I was full and finished, the smell of burgers grilling in the kitchen right next to me made my mouth water and I was feeling the elusive "hungry even when full" set in and I had to leave before I ordered again. The last two times my friend and I ate at Denny's we ordered the roasts beef dip. its very tasty, however it would be better if there were not big chunck's of roast beef. maybe shred it or slice it first. The last one I ordered had so much fat and gristle in it, I ended up with only a half of a sandwich. The bread falls apart easily with the big chunck's when you dip it in the aujus. It ends up being very messy because your trying to keep the big chuncks in or slicing them up so they stay in the sandwich. read more

I was hungry after traveling with my friends for a majority of the day, and Denny's was one of the few places that were still open that late. When we arrived, we were sat quickly. They took our drink orders quickly and came back within a good amount of time to take our food order. After the food order, the service started to slow. The food took almost 30 minutes to come out for some reason. The girl who took our food order kind of seemed whatever with us. Denny's had as high of rating as others in town so we decided it was probably safest .I had eggs, bacon& hash browns. I ordered eggs that I never get made right. But this cook did get the white done &yellow dippy. Sounds dumb but restaurants never get it right & I can't eat slimy eggs! My bacon was crispy as requested. When I walked in the restaurant there were a lot of people eating. I didn't have to wait long to be seated. The guy who sat me took my drink order and came back pretty quickly with my drink. He said my server would be by soon for my order. I had to wait awhile to have my order taken. The server was nice. She stayed on top of refills for my drink. If I were comparing this place to a high end restaurant, it would never get 5 stars, but I'm comparing it to other Denny's and like diners. My wife and I stop in here 2 or 3 times a month, for breakfast. If they're busy, the service can be a little slow, but that's to be expected. On weekend mornings they often have every table filled, with several people waiting for seats. We usually like to go in between the breakfast and lunch rushes. We have always had top notch service here and never had a complaint with the food. Are you going to get filet mingnon, here? No. You're going to get your standard Denny's food. I have to say this is one of the better Denny's I have been in. My husband and I were returning home on a road trip and wanted something more than the usual fast food. We saw the Denny's and decided to stop. The menu was updated to the new Denny's menu but still had many of the old favorites. I wanted french dip, but settled on the prime rim sandwich due to the new menu, but I have to say it was one of the best Denny's sandwiches I had in a long time. My husband had his usual the fried steak and eggs, and we shared an extra chocolate milkshake thanks to our wonderful server. I was afraid by stopping at a sit-down restaurant would take us off the road too long, but not this Denny's, everything was hot and fast. We were back on the road in no time. If you are in Crescent City and looking for a familiar restaurant this Denny's is the place. They will get you in and out in no time, or if your not in a hurry you can just relax with your coffee. This Denny's has given me a renewed faith in the restaurant chain, and I know when I travel I can always relay on this old faithful. read more

I have no idea how the food is at this Denny's as we were told we could not have our dog anywhere on the property as it was a legal liability. So we left and will not return. She was tied to a sign outside and out of everybody's way. We had barely sat down when our waiter informed us of this crazy and backward policy. We came to this Denny's on our way through town. The service was ok, but certainly could have been better. We stood there waiting as several employees stood at the desk, talking about what I assume was a customer and a lack of a tip. Meanwhile, there were several empty and clean tables sitting there. The food was ok- pretty standard Denny's fare. Once we were seated, the waitress was ok. She gave us refills and brought our food out. She wasn't very friendly, but she wasn't mean. Sitting so close to the hostess stand, we got to hear lots of conversation between wait staff, and I would rather have not heard that kind of conversation. The waitress was really friendly with a group sitting near us, and I got the impression they knew one another. So I don't know if this is a "we don't like strangers and so don't treat them well" kind of a deal, or what was going on. It was a cold, dark, rainy, night and my husband & I wanted to grab something to eat before we headed back to our Fortuna home. He was craving breakfast (he's a HUGE breakfast fan) instead of the any of the many Mexican or Seafood places there, so we opted for Denny's. He ordered the Blueberry Pancake Breakfast & I ordered the Alaskan Salmon with Red Skinned Potatoes and Broccoli. To start off with, the servers weren't the friendliest; when one stopped by with our waters, he spilled about a quarter of mine on the table and then just left - no offer to clean it up, no apology. Then, after waiting to order for 10 minutes, while the same waitress checked on the people in the table across from us repeatedly throughout their meal and seated two other tables around us, we finally got to order. My husband's eggs were overdone, the bacon soggy and he couldn't even finish the blueberry pancakes...and pancakes are one of his favorite foods! I wasn't expecting too much with my salmon, but with it being touted as "crusted with garlic and herbs" I was expecting something a bit more than the tasteless, extremely overdone, and 4oz. (barely) fillet. The red potatoes had obviously come from a bag from the freezer section - they had that particular "taste"- and you really couldn't tell if they were Yukons or Reds. The best part of my meal was the broccoli - lightly steamed, and not over done or under done. I've been to some Denny's that deserve 5 stars...this wasn't one of them. Bleh. :P read more

Now I don't know about you, but I like my bacon actually cooked. I came in tonight after a long day of road trip driving expecting just a warm meal and food that actually meets my already low expectations for late night food but that's hardly what I got. The icing on the cake was that I brought in my special needs brother and the waitress wouldn't even acknowledge him and was very short with us. He's such a sweet boy and he was really upset that his sourdough toast was just buttered, wobbly, bread with barely any toast lines. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt in saying that she might've been having a bad day and didn't want to deal with more guests because everyone has days like that...but also, it's literally part of the job to at least be nice to people and acknowledge their presence no matter how bad your day is. Aside from that, I ordered a bacon avocado burger and my bacon was hardly cooked. The only thing I've been looking forward to after a day on the road was just some well cooked bacon and what I got was a joke. I also asked for some ranch for my fries...and I'll be honest, I'm not sure if I got ranch or some blue cheese ranch. I really can't tell what it is but it was good so I'm not TOO unhappy about that part. Thank goodness this isn't my home Denny's and just a one night stop on our way home. He was very friendly and upbeat. Lemar made us feel like he was glad to have us and took very good care of our table even though the restaurant was busy. Staff is always very friendly, never had a problem with the food or service. Only complaint is pretty much if any restaurant doesn't honor certain deals you see advertised everywhere. Every dennys I've been to honors the kids eat free on Tuesday nights so me and a friend decided to bring the kids for dinner, we checked online and it advertises that this location does the kids eat free Tuesday and when we got there the lady said they don't do that. She wasn't rude or anything she apologized they didn't honor it, it just sucks that in this small town a lot of these places don't honor those advertised deals :/ read more

I've been going to this Denny's since I was a kid and it's consistantly the same. Extensive menu so there's something for everyone anytime of day. Good food, good prices and clean restaurant. As for the yelpers who complain the service is slow and leaves something to be desired, I just have to say it's Crescent City EVERYTHING in Crescent City is slower paced. If you're traveling through and want a decent warm meal stop in, sit for a bit and enjoy just dont be in a rush to get in and out of here thats what the fast food places across the street are for. read more
