I'm not one to normally frequent a place like Denny's, so my expectations were low. But I must say my experience was good. We got there very early in the morning and the waiter was nice and accommodating and the food was actually quite good. In a pinch, I would go back for breakfast. The eggs benedict was fine, my wife and I got to order off the 55 plus menu, which was exciting, and we got a Philly cheese steak omelette. For the price, all of it was fine. read more

Tae was wet and sticky. The food took extremely long to arrive, no one apologized to us. The brisket was burnt and dry. Looked like they flooded the the bread with butter. We were there last night and will never return to this location again. If the above is not looked into i would not recommend anyone go to this location. I do believe I've visited this location before, the servers are always polite and efficient. Each time I visit, there's always a full house and the service is STILL QUICK. I'd say about 10-15 minutes tops from the time you order to the time they set everything on the table, drinks included, and all with a smile! I don't know if there was a shift change or if people were just exhausted from a morning rush. It took 3 people to get us seated. Finally get seated in a section that was full of dirty tables. A young man comes out with a bus cart and starts throwing things into, with intent. It was louder than a gun being fired. He should play professional sports, with an arm like that. I think my ear bled, just a little. Ordered a Grand Slam, it was cooked perfectly. I saw these pancake balls and decided that might be good. So, I ordered the smallest order. They came with a side of a sweet white creamy dip. I tried one ball, without the dip. They reminded me of hushpuppies, with the texture, but I was blown away by the smell. They were...distinctive. I couldn't bring myself to eat them because they had a bleachy smell that reminded me of something that wouldn't be typically discussed on a site like this. I wouldn't order those again. The rest of my meal was fine. I had to ask several times for a refill of my water and my iced tea. Getting the bill took forever. Everyone seemed to disappear. Observed an employee eating at the counter (granted might have been on a break) the other employee wondering behind the counter not really sure what she was doing. My wife and I have lived in Cathedral City since September 2001, but for whatever reason, last Sunday was the first time we had ever visited this Denny's location. I thought we got here early enough (about 10:15 a.m.) to beat the "church crowd," but upon arriving, I was struck by how large the place was, and how full such a place of that size was. The couple ahead of us were seated right away, while we put our name on a list. Fortunately though, the wait was only a few minutes, and we were shown to our booth. Our waiter showed up quickly, and we ordered the "value slam," which comes with either pancakes or biscuits & gravy, two eggs prepared to your liking, and bacon strips or sausage links. My wife and I each got our eggs over easy, while she got the pancakes and I got the biscuits/gravy. My eggs were good, although a little of the whites were still runny, which shouldn't be the case with over-easy eggs -- runny yokes, but not whites. The biscuits and gravy were run-of-mill, but I ate them all. The pancakes were also okay, but my wife had to take the top off of the syrup dispenser because the syrup wouldn't come out otherwise. I should've ordered my bacon crispy because it was pretty limp. Our beverages -- coffee for the wife, and iced tea for me -- were as you would expect. Once we were done eating, we waited about ten minutes until we could flag our waiter down to bring our bill. I would come back here for breakfast someday, but it might not be for another 22 years. You can't go wrong at Denny's. Been around for a thousand years. I was greeted by.friendly staff member as I entered this place..was quickly seated and they brought a hot coffee to my table a minute later. I didn't even have time to order it. They just keep the coffee coming in the mornings. I ordered the cheese omlette with crispy hash browns..I hate to admit the chef cooked the omlette just the way I always try to make it but never can.. Must be that large griddle he works on. And for once I actually got my hash browns delivered just the way I love them. Nice and crispy and cooked to perfection. The chef at this Dennys deserves an Oscar for his performance behind the griddle. I would definitely go back just because of his performance, creating a spectacular yet simple omlette with hash browns. read more

My wife and I both agree that the customer service was amazing. We had come here on a Saturday night, there was only 1 waiter and 1 cook, and there were several parties dining in here. And I must say, not being a huge Denny's fan, these things are as good as their name makes them seem. Their outside is fried and crunchy-which serves as an outer casing for the inside, which is a gentle soft chocolate cake. Think of it this way, it's a chocolate shell crusted with an inside of warm chocolate brownie. It's quite a pleasant surprise in texture-and it's richness is not too overwhelming.
