Omelet and grand slam

Food is as expected, it was very crowded today so service was slow. Staff was friendly despite the crowd. Not the cleanest joint and area is rough.

The double Bourbon Bacon Burger

Visited 12/6/2021 In a town such as Blythe with very few choices in sit down restaurants this Denny's is in the lead. For breakfast only the two that I know of Denny's and the old Greasy spoon Steaks & Shakes Denny's is the Top Choice. I Love The Santa Fe sizzling skillet. Breakfast potatoes with chorizo and onions and bell peppers topped with two eggs any way you like them. It's definitely a winner. The chicken fried steak and eggs are OK but nothing special. Very good fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee is not bad either. For lunch or dinner I would stick with the bourbon bacon cheeseburger and an extra patty or meat. Another one of my favorites. The fries are pretty darn good to. Just thought it was time for an update on my original rating. The staff is very very friendly and service is quick and efficient. For a Denny's this place is top notch. Enjoy

I could not believe how filthy this place is. Only reason we pit stopped here was cuz it was the only place open on thanks giving and we needed a place to eat and stretch on our long road trip. Praying I do t get food poisoning...

They were out of two menu items. How can you be a major chain diner on one of the counties longest interstates and be out of menu items?

Do not recommend anything on their dinner menu, but the breakfast items were enjoyed by the kids. Service was very slow too

We had Sakea & honestly she was amazing - she was so kind despite us continuously asking for more salsa, salt, drinks, etc.

Everything was tasty but I would make a few recommendations:…read more One is change the fake butter flavored spread or whatever it is that is used on the texas toast/sandwich bread - it cheapens the quality of your "homemade" food. Second, check the salad mix for rusty/brown/wilted bits - it totally killed the excitement I had to find your ranch dressing is yummy (i.e. not that cheap weird tangy crap many restaurants use) and my salad had ham bits but then it had like a 1/3 bad lettuce that I had to remove. Lasty, even though it's the end of the day and I know you are tired - front of the house customer service is equally as important to me as the quality of the food. It's imperative to be pleasant always and not make the customer feel like they are putting you out or burdening you - smile more at the very least - make me feel welcomed and want to back. Okay, sorry... one more - no one wants tomato slices as their only side veggie option - they were mealy, went straight in the trash, and that's just wasteful for your pocket and mine. There is no shortage of mixed veggies (frozen or canned) and I would be more than satisfied to have that as an option with real butter applied. That's just MHO - maybe the town likes tom slices and I'm way off... idk - I just didn't get it and I'm not a fan of that veggie option. Now the goods - prime rib was very flavorful (not quite med-rare as requested but the flavor made up for it), fish n chicken tenders was a good portion (though I don't think I was supposed to get 2 fish/2 chicken filets - it was still yummy along with the tarter sauce, and the salad with ham bits made me very happy... plus the ranch was quality (tasted like the good Ole hidden valley ranch dip packet w/sour cream which far exceeds that other bottled junk including the bottled version of its own, lol). Ambiance was fine for a diner but could benefit from a sprucing up to more match the feel of the outside of the building. A spring cleaning and a fresh slap of white paint to pick everything up inside. I like the little "gift shop" in the middle giving more privacy between tables. Overall, Steaks n Cakes is a much appreciated option in Blythe where a lot of quality dining options are lacking. Thanks y'all!

Kids loved the burger. This is a small town diner... for what it is... real food... it's great. Everything is the home made version of a meal... which if you love real food... you will appreciate.

I drive to/from Arizona frequently, and I used to stop at the golden arches in Banning and Blythe…read morebecause they have diet Dr. Pepper. I always buy a large coffee and a large soda, and a cheeseburger and medium fries in one of these two cities. After one too many $14-$15 meals with a microwaved, smashed burger & one lonely pickle chip, and coffee that was usually stale and burnt, I stopped buying these items and just purchased a diet Dr. Pepper on my visits. Driving home from Arizona about 3 months ago, I stopped in Blythe for a diet Dr. Pepper. I was hungry, but I figured the soda would suffice. Something finally clicked, and I couldn't make myself drive into the golden arches parking lot. Carl's Jr. is directly across the street, and that's where I landed. What a fantastic difference! I was happily surprised that Carl's Jr. has diet Dr. Pepper, on that point alone I'm a committed customer. No microwaves in sight, no smashed buns, no lonely pickle chips - Carl's Jr. food is freshly prepared and tastes good. I think prices are comparable to the golden arches, but the food is far superior and definitely a value for the dollars I spend. Bonus - the coffee is excellent - always fresh, and a good strength. I've visited 5 times in the past 3 months, and I've ordered food each time: either a Famous Star with cheese, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich, or Chicken Stars, with medium fries. Each meal was hot, delicious, and satisfying. The team works quickly and efficiently. They pay attention to each other, and to their customers. Even when it's crazy busy, someone is aware of every customer who walks through the front door. I don't mind waiting to place my order, because customers are always acknowledged promptly. I know someone will take my order at the counter as soon as they can. I've never had to stand there hoping an employee will walk by or glance at the counter to see if any customers are waiting for help. If you're stopping in Blythe for a snack or meal, I recommend you visit Carl's Jr. You won't be disappointed.

Now I'm not expecting anything gourmet, just a good-old burger and fries. Is that so hard? The burger was disappointing to say the least, tasted like chemical-sauce. The fries were cold ish and lacking in fry taste. I don't even know how to explain it. We were trying to grab a fast meal on the road and just felt gross the rest of the trip. You know when you just can't get that taste out of your mouth and it's just a constant reminder? Yeah it was just like that.
