He confirmed that the next day Outback would be having their karaoke from 3-8pm. Some friends and I decided we would check it out after work, and when we arrived around 5:30 the karaoke was indeed happening. It was a pretty decent sized crowd. There's a small dance floor, and the karaoke jockey on stage, the performer joins on the same stage as the KJ. We made our way in, there were several people in the karaoke area eating their pizzas, and the other room has the walk up bar along with more tables and booths as well as tvs that were playing sports. The pricing here is pretty reasonable for the drinks, beer on tap for $5 as well as $6 mixed drinks if you're in the mood to partake. We were there to experience the karaoke, and we ended up having a blast! The KJ Sonny is well known in town, he runs Country Gentlemen Entertainment and KJ's at a few venues in Quartzite. There is a sign up book where you can write your request, and he made sure everyone got a chance on the rotation. At the end of the night he played some songs so we could dance and we left around 9pm and quite a time was had! We made friends with many of the locals and everyone agreed it was such a great time. I highly recommend eating there. One review said it was frozen pizza but you can see when you are ordering that everything is fresh. In driving from Sedona to Quartsite last Sunday to spend the night and do a day of shopping, I called the VFW and asked if I could get dinner there. The gruff woman with the smokers voice told me NO(!). I wasn't a member so I couldn't have dinner there. The next afternoon, when leaving, I stopped at a lovely local diner to get a meal for the road. The local newspaper had an ad for the VFW lodge which indicated all were welcome to grab a meal there. I'm confused. Was the woman who answered the phone with the VFW lodge just rude or has policy changed. If all are still welcome then I'm very disappointed in her rude behavior. My dad served proudly and my son-in-law is serving proudly. There is no place for rudeness in treating those who stand and who support our brothers and sisters in the service.

Amazingly...that note was written in handwriting that's not the owner but seems very similar to another bartender. If I'm wrong....please let me know. Do I get my money back? Do you ignore what happened? Do you ignore the amazingly strange occurrence re: perceived homophobic behavior? I tried to bring it up with the bartender on duty (& remedy the situation before coming to Facebook) and was told "NO WAY that could be true." Came to Quartzite, for 3 days, to buy minerals for our geology department at Caltech. After about…read more3 hours of shopping I was hungry and walked into Beer Belly's. Live music was playing. After walking up to the bar I ordering a beer and walked over to buy some food. After looking over the menu I decided on the smoked pulled pork nachos. I found a seat under a tented area, waited for my food, and enjoyed the live music. The place was busy. My nachos were ready in about 10 minutes and they were great. The place is dog friendly. I walked in with my dog. If you are in need of a beer or food after mineral or rock shopping this is a great place to come.
